    A Dangerous Method [Genkai&Jimmy]

It took a sedative to calm Sabina Spielrein down for her father, Devon to bring her out to the waiting carriage. Sabrina lived alone with her father, she was an only child and her mother had left her father when Sabrina was nine years old. That's what marked the beginning of the abuse. Or as her father liked to call it, the "fun". Sabrina had endured nine long years of her fathers fun and games before she finally broke down. Her once pristine body was littered with bruises and marks. The eighteen year old girl's long hair and clothes could hide most of the evidence of abuse but her mind couldn't hold out any longer. She refused to do anything. It was as if the girl had become a mute lifeless doll. Sabrina usually took care of her father and cleaned the house but lately she just laid around in bed and spoke to no one. Devon was getting impatient and learned quick that his "fun" with his daughter wasn't as fun as it used to be.

Not when she would lie there and take it. So Devon asked around, in his quiet manner and heard of a young disciple of Freud by the name of Carl Jung. Devon had called and spoke to Jung's secretary who also happened to be his wife. He explained his daughter had suddenly fallen ill and needed help. On a breezy warm summer day he coaxed Sabrina into drinking some tea with him. She was skittish as she had grown to become and soon drank it all. The tea had been laced with medication and she soon fell into a deep sleep. Devon then seized the opportunity to transport the troubled girl to Jung's estate, a city away. As they were approaching the city, the sedative seemed to wear off and Sabrina came around. She saw her hands tied up and she felt a large wave of fear wash over her.

In her fear, she tried to open the door but her father pinned her down and held her still. She couldn't push him off so she screamed and bit down on his hand. He smacked her face until she froze and settled down. The carriage soon came to a stop and Devon got out and yanked Sabrina with him. He pocketed his hand with her bite mark and put his other around her waist and forcefully led her up the steps to the large manor that served as a small study hospital. A woman by the name of Emma Jung was waiting at the top. "Good afternoon Mr.Spielrein." She smiled and looked to the brooding teenage girl. "And Ms.Spielrein." Emma added and led them inside. "My husband will be right with you both. Mr.Spielrein may I see you alone for a moment?"

Devon set Sabrina down in the parlor room which was off from the left of the entrance. Emma and Devon then walked down the hall a bit and began discussing payment and how long Sabrina would stay. Devon expressed that he would pay top dollar and didn't need Sabrina back until she was fixed again. He then quickly excused himself with an excuse that he had to meet a business partner back at home. Devon walked back over to his daughter and placed a hand on her head. She bit her lower lip and held her breath. He then left and Emma sat down beside the girl as Devon headed back down to the carriage to take his leave. "You're in good hands here, your father is just concerned about getting you better." She said carefully. The lie that had been hastily fed to them was that Sabrina's mother had recently passed away and that ever since then, the girl had become estranged mentally and was endangering herself in odd ways.

Carl Jung sat back on his chair, which was placed behind his large wooden office desk. A large window that panned the wall behind him drew the light into his study. He gazed at the many sheets of paper on his desk, a cigar within his right hand and a glass of Scotch in the other. He sighed and sipped from his glass before putting it down. The old clock on the wall ticking, creating a monotonous noise which echoed through his study. Time had started to drag for Carl, since leaving his old teacher Freud's hands his life had began, or so they had said.

Carl was seen to have a perfect life to his loved ones. He was married to his beautiful wife Emma, he had three children - Agathe, Gret and Franz and most of all he had a job in which he had spent many years researching and training in. He helped those who were psychologically unstable. However something was missing for Carl Jung, and he knew what. He had a few possible explanations; He missed working with former teacher Freud or he found his patients although individual seemed to have many of the same problems.

He stubbed out his cigar before hearing a carriage pull up outside of the manor. He saw a young girl and a older male figure enter the building. He figured that these would be Mr. Spielrein and his daughter Sabrina. He had contacted Carl a few weeks ago with regards to his daughter Sabrina, who had seemed to develop an illness shortly after her mothers death. Carl had heard alot of commotion downstairs and therefore finished his drink off before placing on his jacket and heading downstairs.

Carl had patients from this background and situation before, and he knew they were tricky to crack into and make first communications with. He knew however that was the easy part of these case's. He made his way into the parlor where he found waiting Emma sitting beside a young silent girl. He walked over and smiled at Emma before looking at the girl. "You must be Sabrina. I'm Mr. Jung. I'm going to help you. I'm going to make you better" He said slowly. He knew he sounded patronizing but sometimes that was the best option for these patients.

Emma glanced to Jung as he entered. She stood up and excused herself to let the two get better acquainted. She headed off into the kitchen and got herself some tea and headed out into the garden where she knew the children would be playing together. Now she could keep an eye on them while her husband went to work. Meanwhile Sabrina looked to Jung, her shoulders slightly stiff and slouched. In her mind, she wasn't sure what kind of help she needed, except maybe an escape of sorts. She glanced back toward the door, wondering if her father would come back, fists ablaze. She had no idea what she was doing at such a place or even the occupation of the man, however her mind had assumed it could be an asylum or some sort of off-site medical facility.

The house was very clean and tidy, in a perfect sort of way. Sabrina wasn't ready to assume she was alone though. Even so, she tore her eyes away from the double doors and looked back to the man who looked rather intelligent. Her mannerisms around the home had been changing over the past months and Sabrina realized this was her father's way of dealing with the issues he had caused. That realization itself was rather unsettling but by no means surprising. Though the fact that her father would toss her aside to be tinkered with was unsettling still. She was rather apprehensive as she stayed silent. When she was younger, her mother had been very loving and taught her many things. One of which, was to be obedient as well as courteous around men.

And Mr.Jung was indeed a man. She was rather dubious that he could help her but she was interested enough to get away and humor the man. "I don't trust you." She managed to say. A more accurate confession would have probably been that she didn't trust men but narrowing it down to the one in front of her way safer in her mind at the moment. She shifted slightly, her hand moving from her legs to rest on either side of her, touching the firm cotton couch. It was white, like her dress. However her attire was faded, wrinkled and slightly dirty. She could still taste the flesh she had bitten only minutes ago.

She glanced off as her left hand twitched slightly. "However, if you'd like to try..." She trailed off, knowing that consequences would be dire if she was difficult for the man. His name rang a bell, she recalled but she wasn't sure as to why. There was also the chance that her father and the man were close and that they were alike in some ways. She had to be careful.

Jung nodded as Emma went off, she smiled back. He then turned his attention to Sabrina, who sat very rigid on the couch. Her white dress contrasted her body language. This told Carl, that for some reason the dress was not her choice. Her face stared around the room like a puppy in a new home. He stood over her looking down the rim of his glasses at her. He smiled although her worried face, he could only guess, did not see it. He sat down beside her on the couch.

He listen to the say Sabrina spoke towards him. He knew that this was a girl who had not just lost her mother. He knew trust wouldn't come into it otherwise. He tried to focus in on what she was saying. "What do you mean I can try Sabrina?" He ask inquisitively. He was very confused by the statement. He thought maybe if he could find out what she meant by that, he could have some sort of surface to work upon.

He leaned forward in his seat and scoured the room with his eyes, the house was huge with high ceilings. This made the manor if anything less homely. There was no intimacy with the house. It was all very distant. Carl had chosen this manor, purely for the business aspect, there were many rooms which could home his patients while in treatment and also his family. However he disliked the house, which to many was a thing of beauty.

He turned towards Sabrina once more. "No one here is going to hurt you, blame you or abuse you Sabrina. I am here to help. You should feel like this is a fortress for you, your safe here." He smiled once more before getting up of his chair and examining her once more. Her face still in awe of the new surroundings, hadn't seemed to take much in.

As much as Sabrina wished to relax, her body and mind could not. Even with Jung's smile. He seemed rather inviting though she could sense something amiss about him, though she wasn't sure what. He moved and replaced where his wife had been sitting and she stared at him as if waiting for something. Or perhaps she was just curious. Whatever the reason,s he glanced down and placed her hands on her lap and feverishly laced them together. Sabrina sighed deeply and the man then assured her that home was a safe place and that she could consider a fortress. She looked up at him. Her eyes then traveled to the grandfather clock in the corner. It was only three in the afternoon.

She glanced down at her hands. Still she had yet to really elaborate on her odd phrasing of words though she meant exactly what she had said, she wasn't sure what was so unclear about it. If he liked to try to help her, he could. She just wasn't sure he really would be able to. Or even if he was sincere. If he was putting on an act, it was a mighty good one. Her neck twitched slightly and she brought up a hand, feeling rather bothered and embarrassed about such uncontrollable ticks. Her father would always yell at her, but it wasn't as if she could really help at these days. "I m-m-meant...that I'm not sure if you can help...b-but you can try." She said and glanced up at him.

Though her voice and body betrayed her, her eyes did not. The were rather steady despite her being pushed into an awkward situation. "My father....he isn't coming back....i-is he?" She asked slowly. The thought of him returning was still unsettling to her since that was the main cause of the issues she had. But deep down, she almost wanted him to come back. And perhaps that's what bothered her the most. It was hard to understand, even after so long. Logic and emotions were just blurs by now. Outside she thought she heard a small boy's laughter. That perhaps struck a cord. She missed her own mother terribly. This man had children. He was so lucky.

Yet she couldn't help but wonder what kind of father he was to his children. On the outside, Jung seemed like an ordinary man. Though that was an assumption since she hadn't been exposed to many ordinary people. Her father only let her go out to buy food and sometimes run errands. But even though she was a caged bird, she wanted to travel and see the world. See it's wonders. She wanted to know what life was like for others and how happy they might be. However she knew she would unlikely ever be able to leave the country. Restlessness was brewing and rumors were spreading. She swallowed slightly and her stomach lightly growled. She then recalled she must not have had a chance to eat before she passed out.

Jung listened to the stuttered and somewhat broken words that came out of Sabrina's mouth. Sadly he had seen many speech impediments in most of his patients, it was a very common sentence. He felt for people with these, anything that has effected someones ability to speak properly must have been pretty traumatic. A death of a mother would deffinatly be traumatic, but something wasn't right in his head. If anything the death of someone that close would infact just lead to the silence of a person, not broken and stuttered dialect. That would suggest that there is some sort of lack of social problem or a problem with people. He cleared his head of this or rather pushed it into a section of his mind for later use.

He watched as she very timidly looked around and felt her own person. He wanted to shake his head but somethings he knew were just not conduct around certain people. He had to know that with his job. He looked at her "Sabrina, I will help you. I promise you that. I will try to get you back on track after your... problems." He said in a very comforting tone, almost as if he was putting emphasis on every word. He needed an answer however, for Sabrina's second question about her father. Something just didn't seem right in the way that she said it.

He would have been able to understand the context of the question if it was something to do with, if her father was coming back. Instead she seemed hopeful that he in fact would not. He frowned a little. That told alot right there and things started to form a structure to work on. Maybe in fact the problem wasn't her mothers death, as much as what impact that had on her father, and finally how he reacted towards Sabrina. He again pushed this to one side and resumed to the matter at hand which was sorting out the bewildered girl who sat next to him.

"Sabrina, your dad won't be back. Not until your better anyway." He smiled then turned to the double doors. "Emma dear!" He shouted. Shortly Emma had returned to the room again. "Emma, would you mind showing her to her room? Would you then get her some dinner. I doubt the poor girl has eaten much today" He then stood up. "If anyone needs me I shall be in my office." He now turned to Sabrina. "My office is on the second floor and its the end on the right. I shall be there if you have any questions. If not I shall see you tomorrow." He smiled and swiftly exited the room heading up the staircase and retiring back to his office.

Sabrina watched the man depart and the woman returned. "The Doctor is very concerned for his patients." Emma smiled and gestured for Sabrina to follow her. "Your room is also on the second floor, my family is quite wealthy so this estate makes for a convenient place for my husband to work. I hope you can come to call it your home for the time being." Emma said as they headed up the stairs and headed down a long hallway and turned to the left. "This is your room. Dr.Jung's office is down the other way, as he said. I'll be by with some dinner for you soon. Please relax." And with that, Emma excused herself and Sabrina turned the copper handle and entered the room. It was small but had the essentials: a desk, chair, dresser, window and bed.

The girl noticed her bag was on the dresser. It seemed her father had brought it along. She glared slightly and walked inside and sat down on the bed. Outside she could see children playing around. The sun was sinking lower in the sky and she rested her hands on her lap. Believe it or not, she was a well educated girl who had hopes of being a psychiatrist and helping others like herself. But at the moment, things were getting harder and harder to process and maybe she did need an outsider to help her. To save her. Sabrina twisted her hands together nervously and a knock finally got her to stop. She looked up as a nurse brought in a tray of food.

Though she was hungry, she wasn't sure if she could eat much. Even so, she got up and sat at the desk as the door closed behind the nurse. She poked at it for a while, finding some comfort in mindless fun but she did try to eat a bit. Soon the sky turned a dark hue of blue and she laid down in the bed. Her mind went back to her father and the images that were then conjured up. The girl shuddered and twitched slightly. She didn't sleep very well and a few times, she woke up in cold sweat. The next day came but she was still rather nervous. Even so, she was a little curious as to what Dr.Jung would be doing with her. She quickly dressed in a layered long white dress.

It was the style many women wore in the day and age. Layered clothes and in a pure color: white. She brushed her and put it up into a tight bun. Even though she had seemed quite unkempt the day before, she wanted to try and seem less crazy. Because she wasn't crazy. She was just unsettled, haunted, confused but by no means crazy. Sabrina headed outside and one of the nurses informed her that Carl wanted to see her in his office to talk to her in the morning. She nodded and made her way to said location and knocked on the door and then entered slowly. There she saw two chairs and Mr.Jung in the far one by the window. "G...good morning..." She said carefully and bit the inside of her mouth.

Carl sat in his office for longer than usual that night. His head had gone over every detail of Sabrina's words. He tried to decipher every part he could. Tomorrow he had planned his first session with her and he wanted as much to work on as possible. But even with proffesional intentions in mind something seemed different about her. Sabrina had nothing to show that his theory was right. He battled back and forth over his thoughts until finally he decided to call it a night. He turned off the lights in his office before procceding down the hallway.

As he got into bed that night Emma turned to him. She had been in bed for sometime now so he was unsure whether had woken her up or in fact she had just waited up for him. "You spent alot of time in the office today Carl, is everything ok?" She asked rubbing his arm. Carl was still in the process of getting undressed, sitting on the bed. He didnt turn to answer. "Yes, everything is in check, just the Spielrein girl. The story doesnt buy me round that its the truth." He sighed and this time turned to her. "Oh well, I will find out in due course so never to worry" He smiled and finally got into bed. He kissed Emma goodnight before laying his head to rest.

The next morning he woke up in a refreshed state. He was ready soon after and went downstairs for breakfast. Emma was up and had already started cooking. The children were outside playing in the garden. It was a beautiful day. Carl ate quite a bit at the table, he had decided that he better fuel himself for the day ahead.

He shortly retired back to his office and had sprawled paper over his desk with possible questions and developments of Sabrina. He had arranged for Emma to send her up after breakfast for their first session. he had already started making notes on the case from any thoughts or possible leads he had came up with yesterday. He heard a knock on the door which was soon followed by the entrance of Sabrina. He smiled. "Please take a seat Sabrina." He indicated the seat across from him.

"This will being our first meeting Sabrina, I would like to get to know a bit more about you. What happened and went through your head with the loss of your mother and any other information you may want to tell me. Is that ok with you?" He asked.

Sabrina rubbed her eyes a little, as she rid herself of any lingering sleepiness. She looked to Dr.Jung and bit her nails for a while. She decided if he wanted to know, she would do her best to recall it. Most of the time she didn't want to think about it but that event was somewhat of a catalyst. "S-s-sure..." She nodded and removed her hand from her mouth and glanced down at her lap where her hands now rested, though they were fidgeting a bit. The woman couldn't help but catch the word choice and she wondered if he father had lied about her current circumstances. It wouldn't be a surprise to her though. For now, she would try to recall the best she could. Losing a mother, or her dying though, were very different.

She bit her lip and glanced off at the white walls and took a deep breath as she recalled her mother leaving one morning. It was saddest day of her life. She felt horrible and alone after that. And utterly defenseless. She glanced back to Dr.Jung. "When my mother left..." She paused for a moment. "I-I wasn't really sure what to do." Sabrina said. "My f-father didn't really try to stop her...h-he said she would be back but...s-she never did return." She swallowed and glanced off as she tapped her foot against the wood floor slightly uneasy. "S-so when she didn't return for me...I mean," She frowned at her comment. "I mean w-when she didn't return...I had to...to take the place she l-left."

She put a hand to her face and squirmed slightly. Taking her mother's place meant cooking and cleaning and trying to control her father's anger. Because of that, she didn't have time for normal things a girl her age wanted to do. She couldn't maintain any friendships with anyone and she became a servant at best. "I f-felt abandoned...I was s-sure she loved me but I h-had no idea why she w-would leave me..." She said quietly. Part of her wanted to cry but another part of her wanted to scream. And soon after her mother left, her father began to have his fun with her. Perhaps he was bored without his wife to boss around. Though Sabrina still couldn't remember her father ever being rough with her mother or her, not until after they were by themselves. It often troubled her and made her feel much worse.

"Perhaps she di-didn't know what was going on....I-I don't know. Thinking that makes me feel less..." She paused as she curled her arms around her torso. She felt lost without her mother but at the same time, her mother's departure set off a motion of events which Sabrina soon to be found quite pleasurable. Things that normal people wouldn't think to enjoy. It was very shameful of her. It was as if she didn't miss her mother with her father just spanking her. It wasn't true. It was utterly complicated. Sabrina hated herself for many reasons over the years. She felt guilty as well. Not knowing where her mother may be and that she was now enjoying something quite terrible, she wished she was dead. "Guilty." She finished her train of thought as she shook away the images that had accumulated inside of her head.
