Alexander sat boredly on his throne. As prince, he was granted the respect to be seated next to his father. "Father, these maids seem to be getting older and less able to handle all the work." He started, catching his father's attention. "Go on." Said the old, but wise king. "I think that its time I looked for a maid of my own...One that...would be....appealing to look at." He smiled gently. "That way, the other maids wouldn't have to worry about my constant needs and I wouldn't have to wait that long. Everybody wins..." Letting his father sit there for a moment to contamplate it, he chuckled. "How about it Father?" Nicholas, his father, turned towards him and gave a hardy laugh. "Alright m'boy! A maid it is!! We'll find one at once for you!" Standing up, Alexander smirked. "Thank you Father." He bowed before exiting the room. Nicholas, on the other hand, clapped his hands, having two men come up to him. Telling them what their instructions were, the two men nodded before heading out of the doors and into the nearby town. Knocking on a family's door and seeing the man of the household answer they bowed kindly. "May we come in? Its a special request from the king himself that we see you...and your family."

Lexus looked up from the book she was reading when she heard the knock at the door. They weren't expecting company as far as she was aware of. When the sound of two male voices made their way through the house and to her ears she placed the book down on the desk and quietly made her way over to her bedroom door, pulling it open slightly so that she could peek through the openning.
"May we come in? Its a special request from the king himself that we see you...and your family."
Lexus' eyes widened slightly as her gaze fell on the two soldiers as they came into view, entering the living room behind her father. She couldn't see her mother, but she was sure she'd went to the kitchen to make the soldiers a cup of tea. She watched and listened as the three men handled the greetings and other nicities before getting down to the reason of the visit, her mother entering with two cups of steaming hot tea, handing one to each soldier with a pleasant smile before taking a seat beside her husband.
"The King has requested that your daughter work for the castle under his son, the Prince. Naturally, it is a great honor to have your daughter serving under the Prince and you will be handsomely rewarded as well."
Lexus put a hand over her mouth to hold back the gasp and eased the door shut, moving back to the desk. She didn't want to be someone's little slave, surely her parents would refuse the offer. They couldn't allow this to happen to her. When the door openned, she looked over towards it, her gazing meeting her father's gaze, and saw her fate had been sealed. Noone turned down an offer by the King. She lowered her head as tears formed in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks, then stood and made her way out to the living room without a single word.
One of the gentlemen, named Kyle, grabbed her arm gently and walked out of the house, saying not another word to them or herer until they reached the gates of the castle. Once the bridge was lowered, they walked into the kings quarters.
"Your magesty! We have brought a girl from the village. She seems very obedient and gave no struggle to get here." Reported the other soilder.
Smiling the king gave a warm, but welcome laugh to Lexus. "Let go of her." He commanded as they moved away from the girl. Standing off of his throne and walking towards her he smiled once more. "I'm sorry for have taken you away from your family dear child, but my son has asked for a personal maid for himself, seeing as our maids are not as quick as they used to be, as it comes naturally with age, he wants someone there so he doesn't have to wait." Watching the expression on her face carefully, he continued.
"While it may seem that we are keeping you hostage, I ensure you that you'll get to go and stay with your family over the weekend. I wouldn't possibly want you uncomfortable while your staying here doing your duties. Hows that?" He asked her giving another hardy laugh.
Just then Alexander walked in, raising an eyebrow from a doorway. "So...This is her huh?" He asked and scoffed. "She looks so plain."

Lexus gave no struggle as she was taken from her home and lead to the castle, finally stopping in the King's Quarters. Despite her feelings she had managed to force back her tears and hold them at bay half way to the castle, deciding she would face her fate the best she could. When the gaurd let go of her and the King approached, she lowered her head slightly out of respect.
Lexus listened to the King's words, the burden on her heart lightening slightly as he explained the reason she was here solely as a maid and that she'd even be able to visit her family every weekend. She looked up at the King, a gentle smile on her lips, her mouth openning to say something when a sound of to the side caught both their attention. She turned her gave towards Alexander, the Prince himself, her cheeks turning a light shade of red at his comment before she lowered her head, her gaze dropping to the floor.
Walking up to her, Alexander lifted her chin to look up at him, smirking slightly. "So...I suppose your going to me my new maid aren't you?" He asked and chuckled. "Nice to meet you..." Stepping back from her he gave a slight bow. "Alexander Ravenheart..." He started and then stood straight. "But thats Master, to you." He told her and then raised an eyebrow. "You got that?"
Hearing his son talk to her rudely, Nicholas moved infront of his son. "Forgive him, he can come off to be alittle arrogant. If he does anything to you, tell me right away and he'll be severly punished, understand?" He whispered quietly towards Lexus. She may just be working her as Alexander's maid but he would have no voilence in this castle!

Lexus let her gaze move up to meet with Alexander's when he lifted her chin, searching for some sign of kindness. She found no such sign though as he smirked at her, stepping back and bowing as he introduced himself. She bite gently at her bottom lip, her cheeks reddening once more as he made it clear want he saw her as, a slave serving her Master.
She fact that the King stepped between the two surprised her, but she was grateful. How was it a son could be so arrogant and cruel when his father was such a kind man? When the King addressed her, telling her to inform him of any mistreatment, she nodded her head slightly, her gaze watching Alexander, wondering if he even cared about what his father said. Realizing she hadn't given her name, she took a deep breathe, straightening up as she meet the Prince's gaze then lowered her head and gave a respectful curtsey.
"I am Lexus Rohan, my Prince. I have chosen for the... honor of serving as your maid."

Alexander smirked once more. "Ah, I see she has manners as well..A fine choice father, you do know me all too well..." Looking at her he scoffed. "Lexus? What a unappealing name. You'll be announced to me as Kitten." He told her and walked off towards his room. "I suggest you follow, lest you get lost." he ordered sharply.
Nicholas sighed and gave her another warm smile. "He's just alittle rough. He'll come around. Remember what I said. And when you can...Try to have alittle fun with the maids, they all enjoy themselves. I just want you to feel as much at home here as you do with your real home. Enjoy your stay sweetheart!" He called after her as she ran after Alexander, not wanting to be left behind.

Lexus frowned slightly as she was informed she'd be referred to as Kitten from this point forward. What kind of name was Kitten, but she had little choice in the matter as she could not simply tell the Prince no. Besides... it was just a name, she told herself. She watched as he began to walk off, nodding to the King's kind words before she made after the Prince, quickly catching up to him.
Lexus remained a few steps behind Alexander as she followed him to whereever he was going. She let her gaze travel around, taking in the sights that simply screamed wealth and status, feeling completely out of place in her simple commoner clothing. She sighed gently as she turned her attention back to the Prince, once more wondering where he was going, what exactly he planned on doing with her, and whether the King was right and he'd become nicer in time or simply remain the arrogant and mean individual he'd been displaying himself as so far.
