Anjwalker, would you mind if I participated?
I was thinking of something of an isolationist-technophobic culture that prefers to cling to traditional ways of doing things; only adopting technology when they feel compelled to do so. I would prefer a small Island nation, emphasizing the word small. Taiwan would be perfect, but you hve it attached to some mainland territories as well. If you wouldn't mind separating Taiwan, that would be great.

Just wanted to post to say that I am interested, though I have a few questions :P

It seems most of the players so far are centered very heavily on the islands of the map--the vast majority of the nations on land in India especially are being ignored--by the time this game gets rolling, will you continue to include them or axe? I am hopeful that the load on you as the GM will not cause you to burn out, as I have seen happen many a time before trying to manage that many NPC nations

Additionally, it would help us all out a ton if you labelled the nations with numbers, I think. I have had to review the nation histories, trying to figure out colors and locations a half-dozen times. I take it the green nation that roughly equates to Visayas, Philippines has no pre-determined history? I will hopefully be developing there.

As a last point, how srsbsn do we wish to be? I am tempted to create a theocracy based around an artifact of pre-blight civilization that may or may not be a common office supply. I would play seriously but I am not sure if Stapler-worshiping crowds would bother any of you

The green island nation does not have any predetermined history, although it is a low tech level 1 nation.

I don't know what srsbsn means, sorry. A theocracy is welcome, but not everyone is going to be a devout worshipper, so unrest will be common in your nation.

Your people are welcome to worship something from the pre-blight world. Even the most advanced nations of this role-play don't compare technologically to the ones which existed pre-blight, so there is certainly technology around that a level 1 nation would see as magic or a divine miracle.

I do have a suggestion. Perhaps your people could worship the ruins of a habitat dome covered city? Those types of things were built to protect the cities from global warming before the blight. As you can see from the map, some of the damage dealt by global warming was pretty extreme.

Actually, a dome protected Metro Manila would make for a perfect object to worship. Since Luzon Island was sunken by global warming, it'd be a giant crystal dome rising out of the sea, with wondrous alien architecture to behold on the other side of the glass.

Also, in regards to the NCP's: I don't think that will be any problem, I'm going to work out a easy system to define all those, and I will make decisions on their behalf through a dice role.

Ah, my apologies on the word confusion--I assumed it was a more popular internet term than it apparently is.

I really appreciate and like the idea on the Metro Manila Dome, and it makes far more sense than what I had sort of percolating in the back of my mind, just trying to come up with something different.

As for low-tech/high-unrest, I was actually planning that from the start. I intend to make the most out of what I can, and what's a fun RP without lots of drama and internal difficulties? I will begin work on my country's data sheet, and hope I can create something interesting that fits the world.
