Happy 2012
(Here Are Some Changes)

As of WOTM #9 (Voting) and All of WOTM #10 there shall be two major changes to the way WOTM is done, and they are in order to help keep participants as happy as possible, while encouraging both comments and submissions. Those changes are as follows.

  1. Anonymity
  2. Comment Opt Out

Anonymity - While this is not new to WOTM, the change is in after the fact. As in, WOTM, Managers and Modship (i.e. Contra) will not be releasing any names of those who submitted unless they have won that WOTM. Users are free to request comments after, or respond to reviews already received in a calm, organized tone of voice if they wish.

That meaning, all submissions are always anonymous, even after that WOTM has ended (except winners) and it is up to you, the user, to make yourself known to others if you so wish.

Users May Not
  • Say, "Number X Was Me!" Without Adding Anything Else
  • Bump Threads Pointlessly (See: Not Encouraging Discussion)
  • Bash, Insult, or Flame Commentators/Critiques or Other Submissions

Comment Opt Out - While submitting an entry into WOTM, any participant may willingly opt out of receiving any and all comments. This means they may not receive any good or bad from other members while WOTM is in the voting process. All comments about pieces which have been labeled "Non Comment" will be removed.

This Includes
  • Posting You Voted
  • Posting Why You Voted
  • Actual Critiques
  • Any Comments At All Good or Bad


However, users may still request critiques/reviews/opinions after the fact, if they are willing to release their anonymity.


Opt Out Labeling
Entries will have (No Comment) listed in the Hider Title.

Users May Still PM - While the voting process should remain as anonymous as possible, and some users may not wish to show themselves publicly even after the fact, users are allowed to PM those who have already voted and commented. As in, talk with people privately about why they may or may not feel that way.

Users May Not, However
  • Yell At
  • Flame
  • Etc



As Always - If there is ever an issue with comments, critiques, or anything of that nature within voting threads, a WOTM Manager is the best person to come to as they can handle the problem quickly. Pick your favorite and go to them.
