"I can see colors and shapes, I think it may take a while to regain full vision", Desire replied.

Desire watched as Shirin kicked the door and then fell back in pain. "There are safer ways to open a door."

Desire twirled her hair, while slowly allowing it to grow slightly longer. All of it slowly changed into a pastel lavender shade. She fed the locks of hair through the keyhole in the door. Desire felt around trying to find the mechanism on the other side of the door so she could open it. After fiddling around she withdrew her hair and tried the handle.

    Open Lock
    1d20+7=17,
    1d20+7=15,
    1d20+7=19

The door wouldn't budge. Desire tried again, it was difficult to manipulate pins by touch alone, especially when her hair couldn't exactly touch like her hands could. But she felt good about it this time.

    Open Lock.

    1d20+7=23,
    1d20+7=26

    Desire tried the door again.

Lucious looked at the stone that he was supposed to lift. He wasn't expecting such a test, he assumed it was going to be a good brawl but he shrugged and went along with it, no sense backing out now. The pyramid went to about waist high and from all angles looked like a solid block with no convenient grip. This was going to be a pain he knew.

    'Eh, might as well'

Stepping up to the pyramid he looked his competitor in the eyes before finding a solid grip, as best he could, on the base and with his feet steady and braced, he hefted the block up and was immediately shocked by how much it weighed, so much so that he nearly stumbled but caught himself in time. His shoulders and back were straining and he felt like he was losing.

He held on though, only just.

"Heh, come on" He taunted through sweat and strain.

Tarvin lifted up the pyramid with a grunt.

    (Str Check 1d20+5 → [14,5] = (19) )

But it may have been a charade for his opponent as he easily lifted the dark stone like pyramid over his head. He held a wide grin over his bearded face. His long dark hair covered the scars on his chest as he heaved the point of the stone behind his shoulders and called out to Lucius.

“Now you get to see why I almost always win Boar-Spear!” His voice was calm and steady.

    (Concentrate Check )

He intended to lash out with his right leg to strike Lucius below the knee, but the weight of the pyramid and the focus it required was too much to keep him from landing a proper strike. Instead the leg swung wildly missing its mark. As his leg missed he spun with it and kept his leg firmly planted back on the deck.

“Good morning shadow warrior! I barely even noticed you while you were still, you must have been trained in some potent martial skills judging by they way you are able to hold yourself…” her face reddened as the Half-Drow looked at her confusingly, “….not that I was staring at you while you were meditating I mean.”

Blinking a few times she offered out a light blue potion inside a small vial, “My name is Katharine Cora, but you can call me Kat. I am the local healer from Wartle you saw before from the healing hut. I have this for you as I heard from Lumen you are an excellent warrior. It is a healing potion that specializes in stamina and cuts. You can drink this mid-way through a fight to help restore a small amount of health from damage but the big impact is your inner energy, it will help to keep that power from fading as quickly..”

Aliaga looked at the vial studying it for a moment before looking back at Kay with a smile on her lips. "Why thank you, quite kind of you. By the way, my name is Aliaga, Aliaga Gellantara." She said with a slight bow customary greeting among her clan. "Say, do you know where I can find the priest, Lumen, who was traveling with us?"

Lucious had just started his test when his opponent tried to kick his legs out from under him. Having missed Lucious the man nearly went down before just catching himself. There was more to these tests then one would normally think. A simple strength contest was devolving into a kicking contest. This lost its appeal to Lumen very quickly. He decided to mingle a little seeing as the crew was all gathered here.

Lumen looked around for Kat but was unable to find her. She might still be below decks or behind some of the crew. He did see the gnome that had devised the test he had just completed. Walking up to the man he introduced himself.

"Hello sir. I must say that that was a very interesting test. The water elemental really threw me off there. I take it you are the arcane master of the ship. My fellow adventure Shirin is also very knowledgeable in the arcane arts as well. Although I do not think she is able to hold elementals as you are. Which begs the questions. How did you manage to get the elemental into that barrel in the first place?"

“It is a pleasure to meet you Aliaga Gellantara. I hope you find the potion to be helpful to you if the time ever comes when you need it.”

Kat’s face reddened as her thoughts turned to Lumen, “Ah yes. I think I saw him speaking with Peere earlier on the deck above. Would you like me to show you or do you know the way?”

Above deck the gnome was basking in adoration as his balding head was catching sunlight. “While I admit I am somewhat of the genius on this ship, I can’t take credit for all of this test. You see I am an artificer by nature, my strength lies in what I create and how I go about creating it. A luring stone can be used to draw an certain elemental outward. The broom of Dergiz, the shovel of Tines, the dropper of Jieks, and the torch of Falish all work in the same manner by pulling elementals in a way a birght light draws moths.”

Gesturing to Tanis the Gnome continued begrudgingly, “She has control over outsider creatures. Almost as if she was born with. She calming commands and they follow. I have a sneaking sucption that she had air elementals drifting about her at all times, but I can’t confirm it. I did however trap two air elementals in the rings you see on the mast. That is why we are able to sail upriver with such ease, we always have a good wind to our sails.”

Lucious was silently thankful the man's kick faltered, he doubted he could have held steady if it did. His shoulders and arms were already beginning to strain a little, bearable, for now. Thinking that outlasting his more experienced opponent was not going to be a good plan, Lucious went ahead with a different strategy.

    Concentration: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3505011/ =21

Steadying himself he lashed out with his own kick to the man's knee with the intent to unbalance him.

    "Eat wood you rodent!"

Tarvin had recovered beautifully as the crew cheered out. “Strike at his knees I hear he was bit by a barghaust their back in the dark cloud outbreak!”

“No try the ribs, I though he boxed a dire ape once ona drunk dare..”

“Nah, go for the jaw, I heard he got hit by a club from a baker’s daughter..”

They all looked between each other, “Yea that is the most likely one, go for the jaw!”

Sadly their chattering must have broken his concentration as a knee found its way to his to his lower stomach.

    Concentration check (1d20+3 → [15,3] = (18) )

The air whooshed out as he nearly buckled over from the strike. It was only through determination and practice that he was able to keep upright and not lower the pyramid past his chest. He was planning to strike back when he felt the weight adding on.

    (Str Check must beat a 18 // 1d20+6 → [3,6] = (9) )

The weigh came on too fast for him. Only his quick thinking saved him from dropping the pyramid to the planks below. Placing his the downward point to his upper chest, he let the point dig into his flesh to keep it from falling.

    (Damage taken: 2d6+4 → [1,6,4] = (11))

As it burrowed down he let out a cry a pain, blood began to trickle down. For the time being he held the pyramid in place. Channeling his pain into anger, he tried lashing out with is drawn in elbow to land a strike on Lucius’s jaw.

    Concentration Check (1d20+3 → [17,3] = (20)

Shirin's boot connected solidly with the door, did absolutely nothing to it, and sent the young wizard sprawling comically on the ground. "There are safer ways to open a door," came a voice from somewhere high above.

She closed her eyes and wished fervently for a hole to open up in the ground and swallow her. When nothing happened, she sighed, picked herself up and dusted off her clothing. "Right," Shirin said, watching as Desire's prehensile hair went about trying to open the lock. "You know, if that doesn't work, I suppose you could just blast open the door. I'll mend it later to make it up to the Captain."

As the door clicked open, they walked in to discover the small room was a map storage area of some sort. A large map of the river that has been thoroughly detailed by past trips. There were pictures of river creatures, rapids and what looked like a dangerous water fall three fourths of the way to their destinations.

The Cabin was furnished with a mattress, an everburning torch, and few unopened sacks. A few rats skittered as the door revealed fresh air.
