“The year is 2351; Mankind’s darkest hour. They had reached an age where they have colonized the solar system and interstellar travel had become something of a given to the regular Joe. The war had been raging amongst the colonies for almost two hundred years. We had been fighting for so long that no one could remember the reason it started in the first place, all we knew was that there where two sides: The Ulon and The Liparus. For decades millions died for the same piece of rock, again and again, until finally, one side managed to gain the upper hand, The Ulon.

In desperation, the Liparus launched five sleeper ships, with hundreds of survivors in cryogenic stasis. The hope was for them to begin again, far from the war and strife that had befallen Earth and to start free from the prejudices that had divided us for so long. Each Sleeper ship was cresended after its patron nation; The Britonia, The Rheinland, The Hispania, The Kiroshi, The Liberty. The Ulon forces were bombarding the last planet of Liparus as their fighters battled a loosing war in the space outside a moon of Jupiter, the last stronghold of The Liparus. The five Sleeper ships rose through the clouds of the planet while constantly being pounded by heavy fire from space, encountered the Ulon fleet. The Liparus desperately tried to push through the Ulon fleet but lost The Hispania Sleeper ship in the battle.

Yet, against all odds, the four Sleeper ships broke through their opponent’s blockade and set their hyper drive system to immediately head for the Magellan System…

That was almost six hundred years ago. When we came here to Magellan to rebuild our lives, we’ve come along way since then. We have grown, we have prospered, we have flourished… But we will never forget…”-->

Five great ships launched during the Esdras (The end of the Great War), each protecting precious human cargo deep within their cryo chambers. They fled for the stars, away from the final spasm of war that swallowed their first home in fire and then in blackness. Somewhere out there they would make a new home. They would begin again. This time, they would not repeat the mistakes that had been made before.

Five great ships. One was lost en route. The names of the other four now are legend: Kiroshi, Rheinland, Bretonia, and Liberty....

When the Liberty first arrived in the Magellan Sector they found an area rich in resources but lacking in habitable planets. With a hundred systems at their fingertips, they settled on those near the center of Magellan where the highest number of main sequence stars and Earth-like planets existed and a fair number of resources could be easily obtained. Eventually they made planetfall on Manhattan, in the system they christened New York. They began the difficult task of rebuilding civilization two full years before any other sleeper ship arrived.

The Bretonia was one of the last sleeper ships to arrive in the Magellan Sector, almost twenty years after the Liberty, Kiroshi, and Rheinland had made planetfall on what became their respective homeworlds. In the chaos of the Esdras, the starboard engine array of the Bretonia was destroyed, requiring her to limp the rest of the way to Magellan.
By the time the Bretonia arrived, most of the resource rich areas of the sector had already been claimed by the passengers of the Rheinland and the Kiroshi, while the Liberty had settled the lush planets at the sector core. The passengers of the Bretonia were forced to select a less than ideal site near the Barrier, a giant belt of ice that spans the entire western half of the Magellan Sector. Here they established the colony of New London, on one of the few habitable planets in the area. Isolated by the Barrier from the other houses and years behind, Bretonia began an accelerated program of rebuilding their industrial civilization.
Historically quiet in terms of crime, Bretonia is the home of two narrowly focused terrorist groups, the Mollys and the Gaians. Common criminals were quite rare until the recent arrival of Corsairs and Outcasts within the colony, which has severely tested the capabilities and resources of the Police Authority and Armed Forces.

Two years before its arrival in the Magellan Sector, the captain of the German sleeper ship Rheinland was awakened from hypersleep to begin preparations for planetfall. He and his officers spent weeks studying the long-range sensor logs in an effort to determine the best location for their new home. Much to their surprise, the Rheinlander officers found that the Liberty already had arrived in the sector and had made planetfall within a clutch of worlds near the center of Magellan. The officers decided to give the Liberty colonists their space, as it were, and instead concentrated on an area close to the Scorpion Nebula and rich in natural resources.
Rheinland is by far the most powerful of the major houses, even with its stripped-down military, which has been reduced to its last battleship, the Westfalen. An industrial and nationalistic people, the Germans brought their traits with them to the Rheinland and produced an economic powerhouse that has seen better days. Rheinland was blessed with food and more resources than it knew what to do with, save for G-Fuel, the critical fuel for space flight.

As the Kiroshi sleeper ship approached the Magellan Sector, they looked for evidence of high percentages of water, analyzing spectrographic wavelengths of various planet atmospheres. One area in particular looked interesting. Lying near a distinctively shaped green nebula that the on-board astronomer named The Jade nebula, it was composed of relatively young stars, and possessed at least two planets with high amounts of atmospheric water vapor and oxygen. Planetfall was decided and made on Planet New Tokyo, five years after the arrival of the Liberty. New Tokyo had plenty of water; what it didn’t offer was much land. The ocean planet was dotted with a few small volcanic islands. A culture that had left their cramped homeland far behind had to accept a cruel twist of fate once again, on the other side of the universe.
Shortly after planetfall, the Planners decided to restore the title of Emperor as the leader of the Kiroshi government after centuries of figurehead status. Strong and absolute leadership was needed to rebuild their civilization. The political maneuvering was intense. There were two rivals - Masamune Samura and Yosai Hideyoshi. Ultimately, Hideyoshi won. As a compromise, Samura was offered the presidency of the corporation that would rebuild the industrial might of the Kiroshi people from scratch. He accepted, and Samura Heavy Industries was incorporated, the first of the two great Kiroshi industrial conglomerates that dominate commerce in the region to this day.

Other than these main powerhouses, there are plenty of smaller charted and uncharted system dotted about and around the Magellan Sector. These smaller systems connect up the houses through a series of trade lanes and Hyper Jump Gates. Please do feel free, if you deem necessary, to make up a Planetary body or a system to accommodate your character or needs I am trying to draw up a universal map of the Magellan Sector, I'll post it soon :P

Extras: Born and raised on Planet Leeds in Britonia. Was once working for Deep Space Engineering on putting up a Trade Lane in the new Sigma systems but got fired for ‘unauthorized use of company ships’. He never knew his parents and Gordon is the only one that took him under his wing at the age of seven. The liberty Police once questioned him in suspicion of possessing the illegal drug Dinovera on a cargo ship above planet New London, but they never found enough evidence.

Name: Sybil
Age: 437 (technically, as that's when her original programming is from, though has only recently become TRULY sentient, as of about 10 years ago)
Gender: Neither, but appears and acts as a female
Race: Synthetic, pale
Eye color: While they are never seen, her eyes look incredibly realistic and have pink irises.
Hair color and style: Her synthetic black hair is dull, and appears to be woven into itself. It has clearly had newer hair added, however, due to some hair being degenerated, and other hair being clearly new (the only parts of the hair with any shine).
Height: 5'5"
Physique: Built to be perfect as a pilot, and also to pass as a human. She even has artificial heat under her skin.
Clothes: What you see in the pic.
Tattoos or makeup: Not technically a tattoo, her synthetic flesh is tinted darkly in various geometric designs all over her back, though these are almost always invisible.
Personality: She's an AI and proud of it. Her will is usually strong, but overall, she has a type B personality, putting others before herself, and often completely ignoring time, despite having an eidetic memory and constant knowledge of exactly what time it is in on any particular planet.
Extras: Was originally a pilot program, but got modified so much for newer ships, that she developed her own consciousness, and eventually found someone to make a proper body for her. It took almost the entire time since then, so she's still partially unaccustomed to the body and moves awkwardly in it. It should be noted that the body has sensors for all five senses, though only hearing and sight are equal to those of a human. She is an accomplished pilot, and due to her affinity for ships and their systems, can also "self-diagnose" a ship and make mechanical improvements and mending. As an AI, she prefers following orders, so cannot be the captain of her own ship. She has no weapon skill whatsoever, save for those of ships.

haha. Great stuff! But um. Might you please adjust her age abit, because, now that I think about it, players shouldnt really have experience the Esdras, the great war. Its just sort of an unfair leverage that I dont really like in the arc of the story. Its ok if shes at least 500 years old. That way she can be one of the "new" Magellan models instead of the "old" solar system models of Earth. Hope you are ok with it.

lol. Still, if shes about 900 years, then there is information recorded about the war and how it started. How about, say; she was built as a new navigational pilot program about 150 years after the Liparus settled in Magellan? So 437 years?

You don't have to cut it, and I'll change her age. You could always put it in [hider=_____][/hider] tags, with the blank being whatever is contained inside (Kiroshi, or whatever). It'll at least make it look more organized.

Also...isn't 帝国書院 Chinese? "Empire College"? Unless taikokushoin means something I don't know about.
