    Retaking Moria [IC]

The Eye of Sauron has been destroyed. It's soul has perished at the hands of a Hobbit. Thanks to Frodo and the Fellowship of The Ring, Middle Earth is still free. Now it's inhabitants must rebuild and drive the few forces of evil that remain it this world. It has already started : The men are taking back what is theirs, the elves are preparing for their last journey and the dwarves are repopulating their old underground cities. These old cities are guarded tough. They are guarded by many different powers. In many cases it's the orcs, in others it's greed and in some it's fear. Mora was guarded by all of them, but the fear perished and the greed was gone. Only orcs remained as it's guardians, and orcs the dwarves could take with half an axe. It is for these reasons that the dwarves now march towards the gates of Kazhad-Dum, determined to take back their home of old.

Hundreds of dwarves can be seen making their way through the Misty Mountains towards Moria. Gimli, son of Glóin got there first, with about 30 more Dwarves coming right after him. He stopped at a significant distance from the pool of water in front of the gates : " Be careful here ! " He shouted to the crowd of warriors : " There is a great danger hidden in these waters. " A dwarf stood out from the crowd : " What danger could there be to face the might of the dwarves ? Durin's Bane is no more, you said that yourself. " The dwarf went on near the water : " There is no danger in Kheled-zaram. " He then started walking towards the door : " Do not go any further ! " Gimli said to the eager crowd behind him. The dwarven warriors learned to listen to him when they saw the dwarf in front of the door get pulled by a tentacle towards the water, but none of them were ready to let a brother in arms die : " Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu! " was heard echoing through the area as the dwarves rushed forward, for they were ready to face the dangers of Retaking Moria.

Thorgili watched in horror as his kin was dragged into the watery depths of kheled zaram.
"Baruk Khazad! Khazad Amenu!"SHouted the old dwarf along wiht his companions on the front lines.THe dwarf reached back and grabbed the leather covered handle of his crossbow knowing that diving into the water would be just like serving the watcher's food right at his door step.Thorgili weary eyes took aim at the spot of water in which the beast's tentcled had arose. slowly his finger squeezed the trigger of his crossbow.THe bolt flew throught he air at a amaziing speed into the water.the dwarf began to reload another bolt into hsi crossbow and began to try and hit is mark.
Then again another tentcle rose form the depths and grappled another dwarf by the leg.In a attempt to save his kin thorgili rose his axe and brought it down as hard as he can.

Dwoín was shocked as he saw dozens of tentacles rising up from the water and reaching for him and his companions. "What in the world is this thing?!" he shouted just as he leapt forward and hacked with his axe at one of the larger tentacles. He then lifted his axe far above his head and hacked again, but this time his axe got nocked out of his hand before the blow could strike. He grabbed for his dagger while blocking a tentacle attack with his shield and struck at the tentacle with it.

It's the dwarves who go swimming, with naked hairy women!

"We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for long. We cannot get out. They have taken the Bridge and the Second Hall. Frár and Lóni and Náli fell there. The pool is up to the wall at the Westgate. The Watcher in the water took Óin. We cannot get out. The end comes. Drums, drums in the deep. They are coming."
--Ori's last entry in the Book of Mazarbul

Darin grew up on the banks of the Anduin River in northern Rohan understanding the culture and the ways of the Longbeard Clan but never saw the inside of Khazad-dûm. To be with all the other dwarves on this day at this moment during the dwarves greatest hour in reclaiming Khazad-dûm fomented an incredible amount of excitement inside Darin Torblad. The Dwarf known as Barbarossa was equally filled with fear and apprehension. Not only had he never seen the inside of Khazad-dûm but he also had never been tested in battle. Would he live up to the expectations of the other dwarves? Would he do the right thing? He was eager to prove himself being only 56 years old. Darin decided to stand with the crowd and wait until a leader presented guidance; at that moment he would strike.

Darin listened to Gimli's words. He watched the Dwarf disregard the warning. The others began to chant, "Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!" Darin could sense the excitement in the crowd. His chest was filled with lust and simultaneously desired to fight and shrink away into nothing. He joined the crowd, chanting, "Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!" with them.

The tentacle snatched the foolish dwarf and grabbed him, pulling him, dragging him beneath the waves of the water. He watched as the old man known as Thorgili fired bolts into the water. Darin took this as the cue he was looking for. He reached for his bow, quickly strung it, retrieved an arrow and watched as the creature resurfaced, thrashing about and grabbed a second Dwarf. Darin let loose an arrow into the creature. He notched a second arrow and released this one as fast as he could. Darin was able to fire two additional arrows before the creature re-submerged.

Filled with the exhilaration of firing arrows into the creature of the lake and the fear that he might be grabbed next, Darin watched with his eyes wide open.

Ur wasn't able to do much for the foolish dwarf as he was drug under the water, but as the rest moved forward, it became obvious the there would be more to do soon. Being tall even to human standdards, he would have a clean arch over his companion's heads, also protecting them from being snatched from above. moving up with the rest of the dwarves, Ur pulled out his ancestial ax, and hefted it over his shoulder in preperation. The shining steel thirsty for blood after so long. Perhaps this truely would be his chance to prove he could honor Beorns name and legacy.

He'd been surprised when he'd accidently stumbled upon the procession of dwarves, as he'd been searching ever since he'd left his village. Ronin the Kind was near the back of the first group of dwarves to make it to the gate, which seemed situated by a large pond..or was it a small lake? Ronin couldn't tell, but as he made his approach he heard the sound of yelling and the twang of shafts leaving their bows. We can't already be engaged this soon, could we? He thought to himself, picking up the pace as the dwarves began pushing forward to aid their comrades. Drawing his blade, Ronin made his way forward, cautious as to not blunder into a quick death before his adventure had even begun.

The writhing tentacles spooked Ronin, as he'd only heard tales of the beasts that made their homes in the waters of these lands, but his resolve stood true even in the face of this menacing enemy. Ronin had no way of attacking the beast, but stood by a dwarf who was firing arrows into the "beast". Sword at the ready, he made sure to be ready if any of the tentacles reached over their way.

Ur saw the dwarf, Dwoin, slammed against a rock, stepping to the side of the dwarves he was with, he jumped between the dwarf and the invading tentacles. Hefting his ax to the side, he prepaird his swings, aiming to slice through as many of the slimy things as he could in one swing.

Darin took note of his first four shots. The first arrow had barely missed The Watcher. His second shot had struck The Watcher firmly in what was the creature's head. The Watcher submerged again and made a move towards Darin. Darin's third arrow struck the creature in the advancing tentacle which caused The Watcher to retract the tentacle away from the threat. It did not register with Darin immediately that the creature in the water intended to pick him up and pull him under the surface. Darin's fourth arrow missed the creature completely.

Again, The Watcher retreated beneath the surface of the water. Once the beast was out of view it dawned on Darin that he almost got snatched up by the monster. Fear overwhelmed Darin. Instinct told him to run away, but the sight of so many dwarves fighting for their land reignited his passion and desire to remain. He quickly talked himself into staying where he was and reached for a fifth arrow. Darin again fired four arrows in rapid succession. He felt himself relax as he got into the rhythm of drawing an arrow, notching it, and releasing it into the creature in the lake. Darin began to feel confident and comfortable with his role as an archer. After all, he was considered an accomplished archer on the practice range. Putting the skill to use in a real situation was the true test of a Dwarf's skill.

Thorgili after cutting into the beast's rubbery flesh quickly retreated form the water in hope of not getting dragged in himself. He watched in satisfaction as puddles of crimson liquid rose up fomr the depths of the lake due to his cross bow bolt. But his work was not done and the beast still terrorizing his allies. The dwarf pulled out hsi cross bow and once again set out in a furious volley of bolts one after another splashing into the dark murky water. How much could this thign take thorgili thoght to himself as he saw his countless companions hack and cut at the watcher's tentcles.
