All characters welcome!
Qualifications
All characters are welcome. Be it fantasy, modern, scifi, or what have you. However there are standards that must be met with each entry. These standards serve as fundamental guidelines when it comes to creating the highest quality experience for you and your fellow combatants.
Please read these before proceeding.
Players must be able to write at least two paragraphs or ten sentences in each post.
Each post must be literate and understandable. Please be sure to read back over your post during and or after posting and edit out any errors. This serves as a curtsey to the other players and I.
Characters cannot be immortal, impervious, or indestructible. Relative to their League, all characters strengths must be balanced by their weaknesses.
Players must be practical with their characters capabilities. If your character is wearing a ton of armor and has a weapon in each hand, he's probably gonna be slow moving. As a battle drags on, characters will get tired.
Don't be afraid to die. It doesn't guarantee loss.
If your character doesn't know it, you don't know it. Just because you read in your opponents post that they set a trap while your character wasn't looking, doesn't mean your character now magically knows it's there.
Bad sportsmanship is highly frowned upon. Don't complain if you lose. Don't be a jerk if you win. Keep that drama to private messages.
Activity is a must if you're in combat. Ideally, players in a match should be able to post a minimum of once a day. If you go for a week without posting, you will lose your matches.
To prove you read these, type Battle Ready at the bottom of your character sheet when/if you submit it. Otherwise your characters will NOT be accepted.
Refrain from using obnoxious or hard to see fonts/colors.
Don't attempt to cheat. Simple as that.
If you feel you cant meet these standards then I'm afraid the Colosseum is not for you. Failure to meet these requirements results in nonacceptance or even expulsion from the Colosseum entirely.

A Formal Challenge
In order to initiate combat between contenders, one must fist issue the challenge here in the Colosseum. For a quicker response, sending them a message is recommended. Either way you must present it here so I can see it. It must also be accepted here. There's no real formal acceptance. Just acknowledge the challenge and if the character being used isn't already known, make it known. Once a challenge is accepted, A combat initiation post will be posted in the selected arena signalling the start of the match. The challenger is first to post as a rule of etiquette. Here's the formal challenging statement;
"I (your characters name and/or the names of your team) Challenge (opposing player and/or characters names) to a (the league of the battle, no greater than what either combatant is capable of) battle in the Colosseum in (the arena of the challengers choice)."
Judging System
Each battle will be reviewed by judges and evaluated based on five attributes. Each attribute is ranked on a point scale from one to twenty. Then each total will be added for the final score. The combatant with the highest score at the end of the battle will be proclaimed victor. The attributes below are pretty self explanatory. But they do include a brief description. If you have any questions, please address me on them.
- Grammar - This includes spelling, vocabulary, syntax, and any other properties of grammar. It should be easy to score high here. Just go over your posts and clean them up. Once the battle is done, this cant be changed.
- Etiquette - This is basically your sportsmanship and fairness in a battle. I.E. if your character dodges every attack and uses moves they shouldn't be capable of, you'll score poorly here.
- Creativity - To put it simply, this is the difference between shooting an arrow directly at your opponent as apposed to shooting an arrow at the chandelier above to have it fall on your opponent.
- Damage - This ranks you on the damage your character deals and receives throughout the battle. I can't really come up with a better description so let me know if you need an example.
- Performance - The over all performance of your character including prose, showmanship, theatrics, banter, imagery, and pretty much anything that looks cool. Overdoing it however can effect your score negatively.
Leaderboards
Additional Information -The Colosseum is and forever shall be open to any and all characters.
-I have school so I can log in and post a couple times a day depending on how much I'm responding to.
-I'm looking for judges to judge the battles. Please message me. Do not indicate in any of the threads that you are interested in being a judge are have been accepted. Under no circumstances is an acting judge permitted to participate in combat in any way.
-The thread may experience changes or editions depending on how it progresses.
-This particular thread is the main out of context discussion thread where combatants, spectators, and judges may converse. Players may also issue/accept challenges here and discus battles here. All OOC takes place here.
