Maybe in exchange Magma will let Dr Malevolence study his powers in an attempt to recreate such destructive powers, or in some scheme to turn Magma into one of his lackeys in some manner. A classic pretend to help the hero then betray him scenario that could lead to a fight between some supers and a drugged out/brainwashed/frenzied Magma

Ah, but all those things he will be able to do already. I thought of something a little simpler. Something that Magma can understand easily and will put him on the right track. I'm not sure if Magma is actually stupid but Doctor Malevolence is certainly treating him like he is.
