The sound of their clashing swords grew faint on Muneyoshi's ears. His vision blurred. The wound he received before had weakened his body.
"Killing the Emperor...hah..." he spitted on the ground. His saliva was mixed with blood. "...Good luck. Don't you dare die...we still have a duel to settle..." he grinned before falling off his horse, landing on the ground with a soft thud. Death didn't scrape him yet, but his weary body give in to the temptation of sleep.
At the same moment, victorious roar splitted the earth, echoing in the entire field. The remaining enemies were all slain or captured; a glorious victory for Matsudate's side.
Motoyasu rode his horse toward Tsuneo. He saw Muneyoshi laying on the ground near him. Alive, but barely. "Well, it seemed that you've taken care of the leader. We'll take him," he ordered his men to capture the Toyomura Clan's head. They quickly brought him to the backline, ready for medical attention.
"I don't know if I should say it, but I heed your words, Tsuneo-dono. We've captured Toyomura family alive," he smiled his usual sly smile. "You better succeed on killing the Emperor to pay me back for that."
