Friction noticed a guard was at the very bottom of the steps not looking up them and smiled. He got down to the right level and did a qucik slide down the railing and slammed right into the guy causing himself to flip to a good landing on his feet. He then took the liberty to do a light temple kick so he wouldn't kill the man but leave him harmless. He looked at the marking sign which said 'Second Floor -->' pointing to the door leading out of the staircase.

Friction remembered the second floor and first were adjoining, an escalator connected the two levels which he could use as a ramp. He however did not know how many criminals were lodged in the area and expected it to be the high concentration of them or a few heavily armed men with they're leader. He opened the door silently as he could to get a look at who was on the second floor but the door had a horrible view with a guard right infront of it.

~Guess I'll just have to wait to make an entrance.~ Friction thought.

"I am Dr G," He sneered at the bestial hero, despite the slight shortness of breath. If he let something that insignificant stop his dialogue, what sort of mad genius would he be? He slipped the large gem he was admiring earlier into his grip. The gem was rather large too. A polished quartz about the size of an egg. He twirled it slowly between his fingers. Hopefully, this little trick wouldn't shatter it. He rather like this one. It had potential. "Get this through your head, 'hero', I only surrender on my own terms. Nothing less. It's a part of being a mad scientist and a super villain. Along with have contingency plans. But more importantly, my dear Khymera; have you ever been to the disco? The light shows from the disco balls were to die for."

He pushed against her grip. He was not as strong as she was, but he was strong. Particularly when he put his mind to it. And since his abilities cancelled much of the force that would have translated to him from the pressure, he managed a small gap between them. It was enough to hold the gem cupped in his hands, angled towards her. He sneered, and used it as a focus for his power, channeling his heat ray with one hand and his freeze ray with the other. The gem flashed and glowed a pale red as the cyan of his freeze ray and the red of his heat ray mixed, before exploding into a spectacular, from both the visual as well as the potentially destructive perspective, burst of light; Red heat beams, Cyan freeze rays, Light Coral (so much nicer sounding than water melon guts) death rays in a kaleidoscopic display.

Unseen had made his way back to the financial district of Westport city. He generally liked it there, since there was a lot of money going around here, and most of it belonged to the sort of smug bastards who could stand to lose some of it. Granted, most of the criminals who went around robbing anything here weren't exactly aware of the possibilities.

Unseen didn't like bank robbers. They were generally complete morons, for several reasons. For one, attacking a bank during the day was just so obvious. Within minutes there would be someone there to stop you, and, in this town, they'd pack the punch necessary for it, too. Since most vaults were time-locked, a hero was on you before you even got in.

Secondly, any real money obviously lay with the actual bank owners, and they were generally far more accesible than the bank vaults themselves, as long as you had the right skill set.

Naturally, since the general population anywhere was made of complete idiots who couldn't do a basic risk/reward analysis to save their lives, a bank robbery was currently taking place.
"Sir," a police offer approached him. She looked to the world as somehow who knew her job was pretty much irrelevant, considering almost everyone she might have to fight agaiinst could simply shove her aside. Unseen felt sorry for them, he really did. At least he'd managed to find a fun way to use his ordinary skills, they found themselves in awful jobs out of a sense of duty to a population who never noticed them. "I'm sorry sir, but you can't go any further. It's too dangerous."

Unseen looked at the bank. "Who's in there? On your side, I mean."
"Khymera, sir, now please move along."
"Hmm, well, good luck to her, I guess," he said, looking as genuine as he could.

It was, it should be pointed out, vitaly important to know the heroes running around. If only so you could avoid the ones that could kick your ass. Nevertheless, there should be another way to get inside that bank, since there always was, and Unseen wasn't going to let an opportunity slide. There was also that extra bit of satisfaction gained from letting another criminal do most of your work for you.
They can't all be victories, so let's at least make this a draw.

Valkyrie has successfully taken care of the nearly successful robbery without even have to swing her axe once, the huge scale of it being intimidating enough to stop them in their tracks. She had opted to return the stolen details, in the form of a USB, to the bank herself while the cops processed the criminals, it saved time for the usual crime fighting elements of the city.

While the height of building got in the way, with several powerful bounds both up and across she headed back towards the bank, having leaped from the highest building on route she nearly cleared the whole way to the bank in one leap, however she instead hopped down steadily shorter buildings as to not cause any damage when she hit the ground.

However, the front of the bank was rather more damaged than when she had seen it before, on the occasional patrol in the area, one of the front windows was smashed in and there were sounds of a struggle from within, removing her axe from the strap on her back she shouldered it, stepping into the lobby, the lower window frame crumpling beneath the strength of her tread, she cast her gazer over the situation.

A man in a whit coat was fighting a rather savage looking women, both could quite easily fit into the villain or eccentric hero description, she hadn't really be present long enough to secure any allies or make note of all the villains.

"Desist, both of you, all stolen goods will be returned, all hostages released, unless of course, you want to argue about it." She spoke, while sounding quiet in a sinister fashion, her voice carried across to all in the room with ease. After she had finished speaking, she swung her axe around to hold it two handed horizontally in front of her.

"I'm not a fan of argument."

Rosemary strolled casually through the hallways of Westport High, careful not to bump into any of the smaller freshmen as she headed to her locker. It had always amused the teen how hectic the school got between classes, as hundreds of students hurried between their lockers, and their classes. She imagined the school as one large, busy beehive, full of activity.

As she neared the doorway that led to one of the various stairwells around the school, she felt a tap on her shoulder, and turned to find her best friend, and crime fighting “sidekick” Alexander smiling down at her. He was a lanky boy, standing about a foot above Rosemary. He had messy brown hair, the only thing out of place in his otherwise immaculate appearance. The “nerdy” teen had worn a green, checkered sweater vest that day, and his glasses sat crooked on his nose.

“Hey Xander!” Rose said as she saw him, using the nickname she had called him by since they were children, “How’s it going man, I missed you all day, thought you decided to stay home.”

The boys eyes lit up every so slightly when she told him that she had missed him, but Rose didn’t notice. She grabbed him by the arm before he could respond, and began to lead him through the stairwell doorway, and up the two flights to the floor her locker was situated on.

“Yes, I just got here actually,” He began as they hopped up the stairs, “I was working on those modifications to your Ipod that I was telling you about, it’s finished by the way.”

Rose beamed excitedly as he spoke. She had lent him her Mp3 player a few days ago, as he had told her that he could add some helpful features to it. At the time it had seemed like a good idea, but she would later find out just how boring Mr. Chute’s history classes were without music playing in her ears… and she had his class next, so she was eager to get her music back.

“Sweet man, I can’t stand the thought of sitting through another History class without some tune-age. Y’know?” She replied, though she was aware that he would probably disagree, being the straight A student that he was.

“Actually…” Here it comes, “I quite enjoy our History class, and the last unit on the Revolution was fascinating to say the least.”

Rosemary giggled and gave her friend her ‘Are you serious?’ look as she continued up the stairs, her red high top converse slapping audibly against the stairs with each step. Eventually they reached the top, and Alexander quickly jumped a step forward, and pulled open the door for Rose.

“Why thank you Sir.” She said with a small chuckle, mockingly kneeling low into a sloppy curtsey.

Alexander rolled his eyes at her, and followed the redhead to her locker. When they arrived at it, Rose began to fiddle with her lock, as it always seemed to take her at least three tries before she could get it open, a fact that greatly amused Alex. The teenage boy watched his close friend tug on the lock, sigh, and return to spinning it’s dial, only to repeat the steps two more times before the locker door finally swung open, revealing its contents. It was fairly empty, save a few books stacked on the top shelf, and a beaten up Longboard that Rosemary used to take to school everyday, but had been sitting unused in her locker since she had acquired her Spider powers.

“So I get my Ipod back now?” Rose asked casually.

Alex watched her rummage through her stuff; switching books from her bag to her locker and vice versa, and couldn’t help but think of how cute she was. He did his best to suppress such thoughts, but it had grown increasingly difficult lately, not to mention that she had decided to wear very short, denim shorts that day. He fancied himself a gentleman though, and politely refrained from staring, as much as he wanted too.

“What did you do to it exactly?” Rose asked, closing her locker, and turning to face him.

Alexander smiled and studied the girl’s cute face. Dozens of freckles covered her visage; bright green eyes stared at him quizzically from beneath locks of fiery red hair. She had always been a pretty girl, but with the power of the Spider coursing through her, she had blossomed into a beautiful young woman.

“Helloooo? Earth to Xander, come in please.” She joked, waving a hand in front of her friends face.

He snapped out of his trance, rather embarrassed. Fixing the position of his glasses on his face, he muttered a “What? Oh yes, right.” and reached into his jean pocket, a second later pulling out her Ipod and handing it to her.

“I fiddled with some frequencies involving the Mp3 players built in radio receiver, and have adjusted it so you can pick up Police chatter as though it Police scanner. You should be able to pick up any outgoing and incoming communications between the Police force, effectively giving you a heads up to any nearby crimes. That and I’ve added the frequency I use to communicate with you through the Spider Eyes, so I’ll be able to talk to you through the Ipod if you are acting incognito.”

Rosemary held the small device in her palm, staring at it as though she had never seen it before, like it was some foreign technology. Finally her face broke into a toothy grin, and she lunged forward to give Alex a tight hug.

“That is so awesome, thanks Xander!” She exclaimed as she let him go.

“Well, uh... yes, it is isn’t it?” He replied, he could feel his face get hot, and the boy did his best not to blush, “Why don’t you uh, give it a spin?”

Rosemary nodded in agreement, and quickly plopped the ear buds into her ears, before turning the Ipod on.

“So how exactly does it work?” She asked him.

“Just go to the radio app, and it should have a Police listing, and one with my name. Hit the Police one.”

    “Aye aye!”

She did what he said, and after a moment of white noise, suddenly a women’s voice broke out over the airwaves.

“This is Officer Remmy, requesting assistance at the Westport National Bank, reports attest to a Super Villain attempting to rob the vault. Officers are on the scene, as well as at least one Hero. Backup still required, please respond.”

Rosemary’s eyes grew wide, and she began to jump up and down in place, obviously excited.

“Hey there’s a bank robbery happening downtown, right now! C’mon lets go!”

Alex looked at her concerned, and shook his head no.

“We’ve got class remember, a class that you are currently close to failing.” Alexander reminded her, once again caring more about her grades than she did.

“Oh c’mon, there is a crime in progress, it’s our duty!”

“Need I remind you that you have yet to register as an official Super Hero, so technically it is not your duty, and it’s happening all the way downtown, I’m sure by the time we got there it would have been wrapped up by another Super.”

Rosemary pouted and tried to think of a way to protest, but she knew her friend was right, and she really did need to get her History grade up…

“Ugh, fine. You’re no fun, you know that?” She told him, sticking her tongue out at him afterwards.

“Yes, I’m well aware of that, now let’s go, class has already started.” Alex replied, before turning and heading to class.

With a playful sigh Rose followed after her friend, closing the gap between them, and wrapping her arm around his.

“What would I do without you Xander?” She asked rhetorically.

    “Fail High school most likely.”

Khymera could feel something soaking up the pressure of the hug, but she refused to let up. There wasn't any obvious way around whatever manner of barrier this guy had, and she didn't have any lasers or lightning or such that might bypass it. Regardless, she could feel a hint of strain in the man's voice as he continued to run his mouth. As he held up the jewel, Khymera quickly clenched her eyes shut. If this guy thought he could stun her with some sort of flash of light, he had another thing coming!

Suddenly, her face was covered in searing pain. Reflexively, she grabbed her face, releasing the villain. Just as soon, she looked back up, quite irritated. While splitting the beam allowed the attack to hit multiple points, it also reduced the power of each individual beam. The attack hurt, but she still had plenty of fight left in her. "Ugh...right. Lasers." She grumbled. Suddenly, a well armored, and very well armed woman suddenly landed in front of the entrance, and demanded the villain cease. "I don't think he's gonna go quietly!" Her voice rose to a roar as she threw a solid punch towards the gut. His force field may protect him from a steady pressure, but what about a sudden impact?

"Most interesting," Dr G commented after he was released from the hero's grip and took a stance a few feet back. It was a remark based on three observations. One; the crystal survived being used as an impromptu focusing device, intact, without any visible distortions or alterations to the structure. Two; she survived intact. To take the impact of multiple freeze, heat and energy beams, albeit weakened, without much effect, was remarkable. Third; the new interloping hero, and her improbably enlarged axe, shared a similar dislike for arguments as he did. Of course, that was no reason to feel connected to her. It was only a curious coincidence. But, considering the size of the weapon, she must have considerable strength, several magnitudes above his own. Khymera was already marginally stronger than he, and he had qualms that fending them both off without his augmentary devices would prove difficult. He needed an escape route. Fortunately, he was a genius, and he already had contingency plans.

"Simple woman," he sighed condescendingly at the newcomer as he triggering a summoning beacon. "You are to one preventing the last of the civilians from escaping." Those that were not able to get out due to the fight, were now hesitant to leave now faced with the woman's intimidation. He looked up and saw the first coming. "Ah, excellent. Addition momentum," he murmured as the fist came. The instant before it struck he skipped back and engulfed himself and the bag of currency and gems, he lost the other during the scuffle, in a stasis field. It wasn't to protect himself from the impact of the blow, his normal aura would have been enough, but the stasis field, erected while he was in the air, conserved the momentum of her attack, hurling him out through the doorway Khymera ruining during her entrance into the building. He dropped the field and adjusted his trajectory with a small burst.

A flying board of some sort plummeted from the sky on a near vertical axis, a soft whine accented by the howl of the wind it dragged along with it. It pulling up sharply a few feet from the ground and braked hard, aligned for Dr G to land on. His boots synced with the board, weak atomic forces securing him to his craft. He twisted in the air like a surfer on the crest of a wave, floating a dozen or so feet above the street. "I do not like arguments either, and my schedule only has space for one 'heroic' encounter, this morning," he said blandly. "I will have to see if I can deal with you on another day."

    --------

"If I lived in a place named Jump, I would move too," Black Cat laughed under his breath. "But I suppose a team would make sense." He grinned. He wondered just how important this team was going to be, that he had to go out of his way to meet the person that wanted to start it. It might just be something along the lines of saving a life or two in a couple days, or it might be more along the lines of saving the universe form a catastrophic collapse. With his luck, it could go either way. The universe worked like that. And from he could get from the few tales he gathered, ever since Tiger and Anansi had their falling out, The Spider had a grudge against all the Cats and liked to toss them annoying tasks.

"Um, I guess, if I... hold on," he said as his phone vibrated. He pulled it out and checked it quickly. Well, would you look at that, his shift got cancelled due to a power outage. The Spider definitely had it in for him. Either that or the Cat did. "Okay, I'm free for the day. Who else are you looking for?"

There was something oddly relaxing about the chaos of a bank robbery, really. For one, nobody paid any attention to you, especially not if there were two supers fighting only several feet away. so, as long as you knew how to avoid a stampede, you could go largely undetected, since the nice part about supervillains was that they tended to take out security cameras all on their own.

Unseen was not a supervillain. He was a thief, yes, quite proud of it, too, but he certainly wouldn't go for the loud lifestyle of those that advertised themselves as evil geniuses or the like. It just seemed so obvious to him that this was a stupid way to go about things, but then, stupid was a pretty decent description of everyone at some point in their lives.

There was another benefit to the chaos: everyone dropped all kinds of things. While those with more ambitious goals in mind might scoff at such petty thievery, Unseen knew that a lot of petty thievery got you a lot of money. Oh well, everyone had to figure out something that worked, he supposed.

He crept from cover to cover, occasionally grabbing whatever purse was lying around and taking whatever money he could find. Money was perfect to steal, since nobody asked questions if you bothered to pay with it afterwards. Stealing it from any random person meant it most likely couldn't be traced and it was very easy to hide. It almost made Unseen understand pickpockets.
They can't all be victories, so let's at least make this a draw.

Bob's eyes flashed from side to side of the bank, as figures started storming or sneaking in one after the other inside the building. By the time the Doctor made a quick retreat out before things got too messy, Bob had finally managed to get up, after realizing he wasn't going to get his money any time soon, and had taken a few, jangling strides towards the still untouched pile of cellphones the Doctor had made the hostages leave behind. By the looks, it seemed as if anyone who might have been interested in them had already made for the exit somewhere in the last 10 minutes. He stooped down from his impressive height to pick up one of the cellphones, before turning it around in his hand, making sure it hadn't been scratched or ruined during the commotion, before making it disappear in the depths of one of his pockets. He knew "Fat Man" Jill usually paid good money for them. He smirked at his own mildly villainous act. He also tried to pull off an evil laugh while he was at it, but the result was little more than an over-excited chuckle.

Naturally, he didn't even notice the not too far-away presence of the Master Thief known as Unseen behind him, and went on stuffing his pockets with Blackberries and iPhones.

"There are a few around town. Like Dark Mist, Friction, Sapphire... Most of the heroes show up when they are ready, generally at a crime scene or something," Black Cat said, thinking it through. He had never through about were the heroes hung out before. There wasn't exactly a Hero Bar downtown. And if there was a secret base for them, he hadn't gotten the memo about it. "Unless you want to set off an alarm and talk to whoever shows up, I think we should let the universe provide." It was how he solved all his problems. He looked around and pointed in the first direction that looked appealing. "Let's head that way. We might stumble across someone."
