Back to School (Kyrisse x Tsukino)

[Kyrisse]

Kasey opened the door to his apartment, threw his backpack on the nearby chair and then turned to lock the door. It had been a long day as expected and his back hurt from when he caught Alice from falling. He went over to the ref and opened it. Inside was a half eaten sandwich, a carton of milk and a carton of orange juice.

"Yeah, I forgot to go to the grocery..." He got the carton of orange juice, poured himself a glass and downed it in less than a minute. Pulling of his shirt, he went to get a towel from his room and proceeded to the bathroom for a shower.

After a few minutes, he re-emerged from the bathroom, wearing only loose jogging pants, his heair wet. He settled down on his bed and grabbed a book by the night light and started reading.

It didn't take long before Kasey fell asleep with the book resting on his chest.

After Alice took her shower she jumped on her bed where her border collie Alex was sleeping in, "Get off boy! Go to your bed over there!" she points to the dog bed next to hers. Alex jumps off the bed to her bed and sleeps. Alice wraps herself in the bed sheets and instantly falls asleep.

[Kyrisse]

The alarm clock went off. Kasey groaned, cracked open an eye and peered at the time. The digital face of the clock read 6:30am. He reached out a hand and stopped the clock from ringing then went back to sleep.

Kasey finally dragged himself out of bed at 7:00 am. He yawned and stretched his back and winced when he felt a sharp pain shoot through his back. He frowned. No matter how many years had passed the pain was still there. Sighing to himself, he pulled on a dark blue shirt and some faded jeans. It wasn't the type of clothes the other teachers wore but there was no dress code so it wouldn't hurt to dress this way. He checked himself in the mirror, shrugged and headed to the kitchen.

Half way there, he stopped. He remembered that his ref had nothing in it. He turned towards the coffee maker instead and made himself a cup.

Downing the last drop, he put the used cup in the kitchen sink, grabbed his backpack and his car keys and went out to his car. He checked his watch. It was only 7:15 and his class began at 8am. It was only a 15 minute drive to the school and he figured he'd grab something to eat on the way there.

A few minutes later, he pulled into the parking lot of the school and parked underneath a tree. He got out of his car with a Sausage McMuffin in hand and headed into the school. Several students lounging in the school's lawn gave him a friendly wave. He waved back.

"And so another day begins..." he thought to himself.

Alice woke up to the sound of her dog Alex barking like a maniac to get her to wake up. She smiled and ruffled his fur and got up. She did a few stretches to get her muscles all relaxed and what not. She looked at her clock to see it was 7:00.

She went into the bathroom and took a warm shower. After that she dressed into a dark red plaid skirt with a white tank top under a dark red sweater. She liked this outfit and loved wearing these articles every day. She then put on her ballet flats and grabbed her school bag and dance bag and went out the door.

Kasey walked into the school, passing through the lobby full of teenagers chatting and hanging around their lockers until it was time to go to their classes. To his left, he caught a glimpse of the girls giving Alice a hard time the day before. They had wide smiles on their faces when he walked by them. Kasey returned their smiles politely and passed them by. He could hear their delighted giggles behind him.

He turned and went into the teacher's lounge. There were a few teachers in the room, chatting with each other. Some were poring over their day's lectures. He took a seat on the couch, finished his McMuffin and just sat there waiting for the bell to ring that would signal the beginnig of class.

Alice glanced at her watch and started walking to school faster. She didn't want to be late on her second day of school and she also wanted to avoid the girls again. As she approached the school she could feel a few stares and false rumors about her going throughout the school.

She made her way to Biology class giving Kasey an apple and a small note as a thank you for saving her yesterday. She then took a seat next to the window somewhere in the middle of the classroom. She took out her textbook and notebook and watched as other students piled in.

Kasey was already in Biology class when the students piled in. He smiled at Alice when she laid an apple and a small note on his table. And then he waited for all the students to be seated and started his lecture. He knew how it was to sit in a boring lecture so he made his a bit on the lighter side, once in a while making side comments that made some of the students laugh. Even the troublesome girls from yesterday were paying attention to his lecture.

A boy with unruly brown hair tapped Alice's shoulder. "Hey, Alice, right? Do yoou have a crush on our teacher or something? Saw you giving him an apple earlier."

[Tsukino]

Alice looked over at the boy who tapped her shoulder, "N-no! It was only as a thanks for something." she replied, whispering. She then continued on to listening to the lecture. She didn't really mind how boring it was seeing as she already studied this back in her old school. But, she still urged herself to listen to Kasey seeing as she might learn something that she didn't know back then.

[Kyrisse]

"Aww, really?" The unruly haired boy looked disappointed. The black haired girl sitting behind the boy leaned forward and whispered to Alice. "You look like a nice girl, Alice. Don't let other people tell you otherwise." She gave the boy in front of her a smack on the back of his head and hissed. "I told you. Pay up! And say sorry."

The unruly haired boy hung his head, took out a 10 dollar bill from his pocket and handed it to the girl behind him. "I'm sorry." he whispered hastily to Alice.

Kasey paused and looked towards Alice, the unruly haired boy and the black haired girl. He raised an eyebrow. "Guys, you have anything you might wanna share with the whole class?"

All eyes turned on the three of them.

Alice had a look of surprise on her face. She had never had this much attention before. Besides dancing of course, but you never get to see the eyes of the audience on you because of the bright lights and all. She wasn't used to this sudden attention. She looked back at the unruly boy and black haired girl looking at them in fear and prayed that they would explain to him.
