    Young Justice OOC

    IC: http://roleplayerguild.com/showthread.php?t=142241

Joining the Justice League; for the young sidekicks, it was their wildest dream. They wanted it like they wanted air. Finally, their day came. They would step up and finally join their mentors and fight along side them as they had always dreamed! Or not.

The young protégés were severely disappointed to find that their heroes, they're role models, didn't think they were up for the challenge. All the young heroes got was a tour of the Hall of Justice, child's play. With their dreams in ruins, the sidekicks decided that they would just have to prove themselves. How? To make their own team, with their own missions, and make their own names for themselves.

The Justice League had little choice: Aid the young heroes or watch them possibly get themselves killed. The adults finally gave in and agreed to the idea of the Young Justice team, under the condition that they would assigned missions by Batman, and kept under the watchful, unsleeping eyes of Red Tornado.

Finally, the sidekicks were sidekicks no longer; they would be heroes.

    ========================================

So this RP is going to follow the show a bit closer than the last Young Justice RP, made by KL. I will be starting us off from the point of the pilot episode, with the sidekicks thinking that they are going to be joining the Justice League. After the team is formed, we'll be following small plot arcs, like episodes. I'll probably plan out the first couple 'episodes' to give you guys the vibe I'm going for, then I'll let you chip in to help with ideas.

    Rules:

1: No godmodding. No super strength strong than that shown by Superboy, no more than three powers, and the more powers, the weaker each power is.

    2: No being stupid.

3: Try to keep in mind that the episodes are going to be fairly short. Let's keep it down to two or less big plot twists per episode. (Example: If Whoregirl reveals she's preggers, and Dramaman turns evil, then Dumbass Kid will have to wait until the next episode to get kidnapped.)

    ================================================== =

Positions to be filled: Note, they can have other powers than the ones listed.

    Strongman: Pulzar, Artemis
    Flier: Neo
    Inhuman: Sunfire
    No powers: Gremlin
    Telepath: Athena
    Other: Frostbite
    Other: Voltage
    Other: Void Archer

    ================================================== =

    Character form:

    Name:
    Alias:
    Age: (15-22)
    Gender:

    Personality:

    Abilities:

    Other:

    Physical appearance:

    Costume:

    History:

---------- Post added at 06:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:35 PM ----------

    Name: Ania Jasinski
    Alias: Frostbite
    Age: 17
    Gender: Female

Personality: She'll be a bit...cold to start off with. Ania probably won't be the team's favorite member, understandably. But the reason from her stand-offishness is mostly based on her belief that she's not good enough to be a super hero. She thinks that because of her bloodline, she was destined to be a villain. However, she is good at heart, and that's what made the League give her a second chance.

Abilities: She has the ability to manipulate ice. If you want to get technical, she can also manipulate water, but the second it comes under her control, it freezes automatically. She can not make water or ice, and must have a source to get it from.

Other: She is always cold to the touch, and doesn't like hot weather. Anything over 70 degrees is uncomfortable to her. She also has a Polish accent, which can sometimes make her hard to understand. However, her last year in America has made her accent less harsh.

Physical appearance: Ania is about 5'5" with a lean muscle build. She has chin length light brown hair, icy blue eyes, and fair skin. Her body bares the many years she spent in the company of her father, Glacier. He trained her with little mercy, leaving an array of scars on her body. The most noticeable is one that scars her right cheek. However, she has grown her bangs out in a way that covers most of it.

Costume: She dresses in a purple fur lines coat, boots, and light armor. One may wonder why someone who gets hot so easily would dress in such stuffy clothes. This is because her body doesn't produce heat like most people's do. Whereas your clothes keep heat in, her's keep the cold in.

    History:
Frostbite was born to an ice villain named Glacier, in Northern Poland. She never knew her mother, and she wishes she never knew her father. He had it in his head that they would be an unstoppable team. He began training her as soon as she could walk to fight, destroy, and even kill. However, Ania never had it in her. This only caused her father's determination to make a killer out of her even stronger.

Only a year ago, Glacier got in trouble with the Justice League by attempting to make a machine that would block out the sun and send the world into a cold and endless winter. They found Ania while searching his layer and took her in as well. Ania has spent the last year in custody, going through hell while the League tried to decide if she was a threat or not.

Finally, she was released. But Ania had yet to earn the League's trust. Instead of sending her out into the world, they insisted that she stay with them, where they could keep a close eye on her.

Took me long enough to get this up. <_>

    Name: Zorand'r
Alias: Sunfire. A closer translation of his name is "Sun flame," but since he found it awkward to say, he went with something else.
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male

Personality: Like most of his race, Zorand'r believes in strength and courage. He doesn't take it to the extremes some others do, and won't bash anyone for not being strong, but he's still got a love for battle. As he's yet to undergo the Transformation, he's a bit immature and hotheaded, but still reasonable. He's terribly curious about human culture, and is somewhat nosy because of it.

Abilities: Zorand'r has most of the typical abilities of his race. He's easily much stronger than a normal human, but of average strength compared to superhumans. He can manifest bolts of energy from his hands. Depending on how much he charges them, their strength ranges from a harmless flash to an explosive. Unlike most of his race, he cannot fly. His journey to Earth weakened him severely, and he's all but forgotten how to do it. The most he can do is hover for a few seconds, or boost his jumping.

Other: Zorand'r is not a human, but a Tamaranean.

Physical appearance: Zorand'r is lithe and muscular, but his height makes him look slightly disproportionate. He's 6'3", and has athletic muscles that are built more for speed than power. His skin is very tanned, and has a slight gold tinge to it due to his race's natural skin colour. Zorand'r's hair is long, often kept tied back into a ponytail, and is dark red in colour. His eyes have slightly green-tinged scleras and much darker green irises, giving him a distinctly inhuman appearance.

Costume: A slightly upgraded Tamaranean warrior outfit serves as most of Zorand'r's costume. He wears a purple sleeveless shirt and purple pants as clothing, and covers them with bits of armour. A metal "collar" protects his neck and chest, while a large belt covers his waist and some of his stomach. He wears matching gauntlets, which are fingerless, and a pair of knee-high metal boots as well. All of the armour pieces have a round gem set into them in certain places: The center of the belt, the chest of the collar, the back of each hand, and the kneecaps. He does have a helmet, but it was broken beyond repair when he arrived. His metal undersuit was also damaged, so he now goes without it. He kept them for nostalgic reasons.

History: Born and raised on Tamaran, Zorand'r was raised to be a warrior. Throughout his childhood, he was trained by both his father and mother to be a fighter. They taught him how to fly, how to manifest his power into energy, and how to turn his body into a deadly weapon. At the age of 10, he already knew how to handle Tamaranean weaponry with extreme efficiency.

Four years later, he was finally ready to become an official warrior. In a stroke of horrible timing and irony, Tamaran was attacked by an unknown force. Starships decimated the landscape, and only a few people managed to escape the onslaught. While most of the planet was left unharmed, Zorand'r's home was destroyed. While searching for answers in one of the ships that had been destroyed, he found more targeting data that lead to a planet called Earth.

He immediately dressed himself in a suit of armour and started flying. Without a ship or any way to boost his own speed, he drifted through space for three years trying to get to the planet. When he did finally reach the planet, he was pulled off-balance by the gravitational pull, and was sent careening through the atmosphere and into the ground.

The injuries he sustained nearly killed him, and left him with some minor brain damage. It had no effect on his intelligence or personality, but left his powers weaker than most Tamaraneans. A few months in rehabilitation left him able to perform at half-strength. After giving his warning about the unknown attackers, he was offered a place in a newly-formed team of superhumans. He gladly accepted.

    Name: Yorick Lindgren
    Alias: Gremlin
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male

Personality: To put it simply, he's a socially awkward nerd boy. If he doesn't like someone he gets a bit snarky and derisive; if they can keep up with his wit there's likely to be a blistering verbal battle, if they can't then it'll probably end with a dry insult that they don't catch. If you get him on a subject that he likes, you're in for a long and in-depth conversation. At a fundamental level he believes in the merits of superheroism: he believes that doing what's right shouldn't be restricted by rules, as long as you keep to your morals.

Abilities: Gremlin's effectiveness revolves around the technological devices he's created.

-Foremost among them is his "Self-contained Capsular Stasis Projection Apparatus" (He's fond of overly-wordy names). The device allows him to temporarily nullify the movements of an object. The more force that object applies, the more likely the Stasis Apparatus will fail to restrict its motion; furthermore the restriction weakens over time (which is why its a temporary effect).

-His second notable device are his "Situational Awareness and Analysis Goggles", which collect information in the form of images, sounds, other energy emissions and relay them to Yorick in an understandable medium. This is limited however by the completeness of their database, so any unknown substances or stimuli are beyond their capacity.

-His final device is a miniature computer built into his suit, which contains the Goggles' database and allows for interface with conventional computer systems.

Other: Yorick is a normal human, not possessing any innate abilities beyond the norm. That being said, he boasts a genius IQ of 200, which has allowed him to create the technology he uses in crime fighting.

Physical appearance: Yorick stands at 5'6" with a lean frame. He doesn't have much muscle on him, but he's surprisingly athletic for a human. While not strong, he's fast and agile. He has short, messy blond hair; gray-green eyes; and a crooked nose that looks like it might have been broken a few times.

Costume: Gremlin's costume could be described as bulky, gray engineer's overalls; with a number of superhero-y adjustments. The torso, shoulders, and thighs are padded with armor, and the whole kit is teched out with his stasis device. He wears a pair of goggles to conceal his identity, as well as to provide additional protection and information about his surroundings.

History: Yorick is a pretty well meaning, if immature guy. His brief years in the educational system demonstrated that he had an unreasonable intellect, and after an exceedingly short stay at Gotham University he was kept on as a consultant and given research finances. Giving that much responsibility to a 13 year old proved abortive, and although he did return more than their initial investment in patents, he also privately began his hobby project: The Stasis device. He justified this mis-allocation of funds to himself with the fact that his patents more than covered their generous 'start-up' money.

His intentions and purposes behind making his devices were simple, almost insultingly so for a person of his considerable intellect. Make a suit, be a superhero. Every kid's dream, except he had the means to actually do it. Even if he was decades ahead of other kids his age, that didn't cancel out the fact that he was a prepubescent, comic-loving teenager.

It wasn't long at all, even despite his thorough attempts to cover his paper trail, until what he was doing was figured out. Of course, when one of the world's greatest detective finances your research that's not especially surprising. Bruce Wayne, backer of Gotham University and arguably the leader of the Justice League, was not at all pleased to see what Yorick had done. Even if he had made revolutionary breakthroughs in physics and electronics, he had done so under the table. Only with thorough dissuading from The Flash and Atom did Yorick narrowly escape court actions and seizure of his suit, instead being nominated to join the newly forming "Young Justice" team.

    Name: Elliot Lawrence
    Alias: Voltage
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male

Personality: Elliot is cheerful, easy-going and a bit snide. He has low standards, which just makes it easier for him to get along with people, that and his amicable personality. He likes to think the best of everyone, and it takes very little to bring him down and spoil his good mood. He is very energetic and active, bordering on having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. He is very excitable and has little patience for anything. Similarly, he has a short memory and an even shorter attention span (though he can remember stuff if he really tries. He just doesn't most of the time.)

Abilities: His powers stem mainly from his bioelectric field. He can generate powerful bioelectric and electromagnetic forces naturally. His body continually builds up charge and is all most always overcharged, and it is reflected in his nature; from his hypermetabolism and faster healing to his hyperactivity. His nervous system is purely electrical instead of electrochemical, and his muscles are electrically stimulated, meaning his reflexes and thoughts are faster than normal people. He is also a speedster, though he isn't connected to speed force. By briefly supercharging his body, he starts glowing as if he was made of lightning and can briefly fly, for like five seconds.

Because he can generate biomagnetic fields, his can pull off crude metalokinesis (which he uses to try the Static method of flying), though his technique still needs fine tuning (another reason he was learning under Static). He has a sixth (technically seventh and eight as well) sense to see, hear and feel electric fields. He is continually working on fine tuning his control so he can control electronics wirelessly. Which is why he is glad there is a techie on the team.

Other: He often shorts out electronics and has a stock of replacement video games, remotes, cell phones and other such small devices hanging around for when he fires the one he was using because he got too excited. He tends to discharge when he gets emotional as well. His hyper-charged body has a hyper-metabolism as well.

    Physical appearance and Costume:
His is a rather short guy, about 5'1, and he is really sensitive about that. His hair is styled in locks. He likes blue clothing and his wardrobe is composed mainly of shades of blue and short pants. Slightly under weight, he can still somehow pack away four chilly dogs at time before dinner with no adverse effects. People often get shocked by static around him, and his hair sometimes sparkles when he gets really excited.

History: Elliot's father died suddenly due to an heart attack when he was around six. It was a hard time for him, and his method of coping with the stress was to ignore it, and claim to be fine with everything, a mindset he still holds on to today. While it made his very adaptable and accepting, his teachers and school counselors were always concerned about him. In addition, he was always an hyperactive child, and when he was struck by lightning around his fourteenth birthday. It was a moment of awakening that led to several power outages and fired circuits until his managed to get a hang of his powers.

He started to hang out at the junkyard to play around with powers, and meet Static there. Sharing a similar bond of electrical powers, he managed to weasel a promise out of the hero for some training. It took a few lessons, put he managed to get his own powers under a bit more control and tried the superhero gig on his own for while. He messed up a bit (if blowing out the transformers of four city blocks during a storm was a bit). Using this failure as leverage, he eventually got Static and Gear to take him on as a part time sidekick. Mostly by trailing them and getting in the way for a couple of days until they caved.

It was a sparkling example of his personality in action. He spent the next year or so working under them and having the time of his life, and was present at their inauguration as part of the league. He was hoping that with Static's backing he could get promoted as well. But with Static hardly being an experienced member of the league himself, Elliot was didn't quite meet the standards for such an honor. He did, however, get placed in the young justice team. It was sort of a promotion. Like half a hero. Still better than being a sidekick.

I have an idea for a character, if you'll hear it out. Imagine a pair of so-called detectives who, when they have to, share a single body in order to become a crime-fighting masked rider. It would basically require me to have two characters (one who is essentially the brash fighter, and who's body is generally used for the hero form and the other who is not as physically strong but is basically a super genius that supposedly has all the world's information locked away in his mind). Together they make the two-in-one superhero known simply as W.

    Super brains, and super body?

Dude, that sounds pretty OP, though I can imagine the schizophrenia would be hilarious, haha.
It’s not on the menu, but might I suggest the ‘I got my ass kicked’ martini?

You misunderstand me. We're not talking about a single person here. We're talking about two different guys with clashing personalities that have to learn to work in unison for the hero form to even work at all. And I love how you assume that "brash fighter" automatically equals super strength. You couldn't be more wrong. That guy has no super powers, and is simply brawler with a brash attitude. As for the genius, his knowledge isn't omnipresent, we're not talking about Brainiac. He has all the knowledge of the world (supposedly) in his brain but that doesn't mean he has constant access to all of it at any given time. Sure, he has a high IQ, but he would have to put himself in a trance in order to search the vast library of his brain in order to look up any real knowledge he hasn't memorized. When the two become the hero form, the fighter is generally the one in control, though the genius will occasionally chime in to offer a plan of attack or suggest using a certain weapon or move in a certain way. Also, the two have to do the transformation together otherwise it doesn't work and they're sitting ducks. Did I mention that the genius can't perform the transformation if he's in the middle of looking something up in his brain? Yeah, OP my ass.

I'll PM you with some ideas. You can be my plot mover XD

---------- Post added at 07:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 AM ----------

I bumped Frostbite's age down because it seemed like she would be the oldest, and I don't want her to be older than the leader.

Speaking of the leader, it will be decided during the IC >:3 So if you want it, you'll have to work for it.

---------- Post added at 07:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:56 AM ----------

Oh, and it will be the characters voting for the leader. Batman isn't gonna come in and say "Okay, you're it."

..Uh, just asking, is this still open? I like it so far, it will be a while to get the character sheet up, but ill be able to do it.
