I don't think an army of elites is particularly effective as a garrison force. Especially beserkers.

You could, but it would take some time before you would be able to replace them (when you unlock them, actually).

There will be a set number of units each player starts with, and that will include a limited number of T5s, but it'll be a while before you can make more.

Then I'll use them as a small garrison force for a massive city! I see nothing wrong with that!

Or I could just say that the city has a guard force which serves as it's defense but isn't actually in the military :O

At least until I can make a berserker city guard, like a boss.

    Nation Name: The Lokezmai Dominion

    Nation Location: Kaess

    Settlements:
    Settlements: 16
    Towns: 0
    Forts: 0
    Large Towns: 4
    Large Forts: 0
    Cities: 0

Note: By large town, I mean cities that don’t yet have significant military presence, and thus count as towns.

    MP production: 36
    CP production: 76

Nation History: The Lokezmai Dominion is the result of the consolidation of a number of minor city-states. One of these city-states, Lokezm, was home to an ambitious and righteous man, who became leader of the nation. He lead his armies against his foes, and his remarkable tactical genius lead to the utter annihilation of any army that opposed him. A good man, he offered the hand of diplomacy to his opponents, and gave good terms, allowing his opponents to retain some measure of power if they swore fealty to him. In a period of ten years, he had consolidated the empire into the Lokezmai Dominion.

The new nation was reasonably prosperous, and managed to stave off any outside incursions from enemy forces. The long line of emperors, descending from the original founder, however, grew weak. With time, the nobility began to hunger for more power. After years of planning, the nobility managed a quick, highly efficient coup that cost very few lives and gained minimal publicity, murdering the emperor and establishing a new, figurehead in his place.

The Nobility then formed the Violet Council, the true power of the Lokezmai Dominion now, and gradually removed the powers of the emperor, as well as his exposure, until the position was removed entirely a few generations later.

While the Dominion’s founder had followed gods of war and glory, the Violet Council turned their nation to new pursuits. Drusli, god of winds and haste, was established as the greatest deity of the Lokezmai Dominion, and the nation turned its goals toward wealth. The nation became highly capitalistic, and felt the burden of a significant taxation. T’zael soon became a highly important deity within the nation, giving the promise of vast wealth.

The towns grew in size, and the population became more educated and economically powerful, spreading its traders across the continent. As the nation became richer, various pleasures became more popular, including a number of material goods. As the laws changed to reflect a more educated, or, perhaps, more corrupt, society, Whoopi Goldbergual urges became less repressed, and the old laws against various aspects vanished. Prostitution and other Whoopi Goldbergual acts became highly accepted, and Exonia became an increasingly important and revered goddess.

As the towns grew richer, the architecture and art of the nation grew more grandiose, and even the smaller towns came to be stunningly beautiful. Rather than the smell of dung of many cities, the towns of the Lokezmai Dominion were paved of clean stone, with the smells of rich perfumes flooding the airs, wafting from the homes of the elite, the middle class, and the temples. Rich tapestries, fountains, statues, and gardens filled the well planned cities, their architectural genius inspiring to many.

But, while Lokezmai grew in prosperity, becoming one of the most ‘liberated’ nations, a beacon of the promise of wealth and happiness, only a fool would not know the corruption behind the scenes. While the poor lived in relative comfort by most standards, they were many, and like any brutally capitalistic system escape was difficult. The upper class practiced corrupt business, often openly and encouraged, but with many laws bent for them behind closed doors.

The Violet Council controlled the politics far more than they were intended to, practicing vast degrees of corruption and even depravity. They tied their politics into other nations subtly, harming even their allies – or attempting to – by attempting to gain dominance of their economy, and force dependence.

The Violet Council, preferring to spend its wealth on the various pleasures and on gaining more wealth, knew the value of an army, but found the time spent training the soldiers could be better used. They instead used a resource they had plenty of – people – to great efficiency. Many settlement’s chief export became Scarlet Legionaires, whose ranks swelled into a massive, if poorly trained, army with ease. Their sheer numbers, ready to be sacrificed at the drop of the hat, became the backbone of the nation’s defenses.

The modern Lokzemai Dominion’s primary goal is still wealth and pleasure for its upper classes, and ascending to power for its lower classes. While it accomplishes this through ruthless trade, the doctrine of gaining wealth through war is becoming more popular in the upper circles.

Nation Leadership: The Lokzemai Dominion is headed by an Oligarchy, known as the Violet Council, made up of one hundred members.

Important People: Sovereign Ajutar, Voice of the Violet Council, others.

Nation Heroes: Tacticien Valkaille, Salaka Inadre

    Military fluff:
Tier 1: The backbone and almost sole component of the Lokzemai Dominion’s forces is the Scarlet Legion. Garbed in lamellar and leather armors, With a distinctive red feather upon their helm, they wield guan daos and longbows. Although well equipped, they are trained quickly and in mass. The Scarlet Legion relies on its vast numbers and the superior tactical ability of its commanders to overcome its foes, rather than the individual quality of its soldiers. If ten soldiers of the Scarlet fall in battle, the next column of a hundred more will march over their corpses to beat down any resistance to the glory of the Lokezmai Dominion. Their sheer number allows many to rest, waiting for their turn to join the melee, while their enemies collapse from exhaustion.

With all certainty, any battle in which they participate will see the dripping with the blood of both sides.

Tier 2: The Scarlet Vanguard are typically a rare sight, forming the superior soldiers of the Lokezmai Dominion. They are garbed similarly to their lesser compatriots, but carry an additional layer of plated armor above the lamellar cuirass, and wield more powerful recurve bows. The Scarlet Vanguard, compared to the soldiers of other nations, still leave something to be desired, but after hours of fighting, exhausted soldiers will find these hardened veterans a fearsome force indeed.

Tier 3: The Scarlet Berserkers are a force to be reckoned with. Armed in heavy armor consisting of lamellar, another layer of steel plate, and an inner layer of furs and leathers can absorb many blows, and those that break through impact on the hardened flesh of the Berserkers. They wield terrifying strength and speed, and are able to charge into enemy lines with reckless abandon, using their two handed armor and spiked gloves and joints as weapons.

The Scarlet berserkers are without fear and seem utterly tireless, able to fight in bloody and brutal melee for hours on end. They can withstand devastating blows without stopping and cleave through enemies like butter.

The Scarlet berserkers are of unknown origin, but their seemingly inhuman minds suggests unnatural tampering of some sort, but there is little evidence either way

Tier 1: The Scarlet Cavalry consist of nothing more than a Scarlet Legionnaire thrown on a horse, with minimal training.

Tier 2: The Scarlet Sabers are a significant step up from the Scarlet Cavalry, as they are actually trained solely for horseback combat. Riding upon velociraptors, they wield extremely powerful recurve bows and warhammers, and are lightly armored in similar armor to the Scarlet Cavalry.

Tier 3: The Scarlet Chosen is the highest order of cavalry warrior available to the Lokezmai Dominion, riding upon a smaller breed of Triceratops, they wield Excessively powerful recurve bows that they can aim with flawless precision and reasonable speed, as well as devastating war hammers that can shatter metal like glass, rendering flesh a bloody mess of sinew.

The charge of the Scarlet Chosen is feared by all. The Triceratops, heavily armored as their riders are, thunder purposefully across the battlefield and toss foes in their wake. Although very powerful, they are still clumsy and very skilled soldiers possess the means to bring them down.

    Deities: Major: Drusli
    Minor 1: T’zael
    Minor 2: Exonia

    -Hero NS-

    I’ll be making more.

    Name: Salaka Inadre
    Whoopi Goldberg: Male
Physical: Inadre stands approximately at a height of five feet and eleven and a half inches, and at this height is quite average, if slightly above such. His build is nothing particularly unusual, holding a muscular structure of around average strength – although not to be underestimated, although one might not anticipate his unbelievable endurance, which when coupled with the force of will results in the ability to flee from nearly any human – or pursue them – successfully if the event takes sufficient time. While being mostly devoid of body fat, and muscled at least a portion above the average – he has an appearance that is rather far from distinct, for the most part, which is to his aid. This build could be, by some, described as being almost ugly, considering the sinewy, overly-aged set of his muscles and his ragged, scarred skin. He is rather durable despite appearances, reasonably strong, quick, and extremely slow to tire, and has quick reflexes paired with decent dexterity of the body, but a certain precision about him despite other factors that might detract from it.

Inadre’s body, however, is blighted by some rather unwanted factors, namely his damaged, deteriorating appearance, making him look much older than he actually is. Many of these factors are due simply to self-inflicted harm from his brutal work ethic. He looks as one who goes days without food, consumed with some machinations, to the detriment of his body. This is further supported by his pale, dry, and cracked skin, covered with somewhat visible scars.

Inadre has powerful, long legs and average feet, with large toes, well designed for sustained movement and perhaps dealing a strong kick. Both his feet and legs are entombed in a thick layer of grey hair, although much of it takes a darker shade than average, slightly implying his actual age over his apparent one.

Inadre has a reasonably muscular torso and a high waste, giving him a center of gravity high enough for an advantage in running, with only average balance. This torso is thickly scarred, with white lines running across the chest in particular, which criss-cross across his leathery, hair-covered skin. Many of these scars are rather obviously caused by cuts and stabs; others take splotches representative of chemical burns. His hair, easily detected, remains colored a dark grey.

Inadre’s thin arms, long and sinewy, share similar skin traits to his chest, but are even more obvious. Inadre’s hands are equally scarred, maintaining long, muscular fingers. Inadre’s fingers are often hidden behind his arms, as they are typically kept folded tightly when they are not in action, a habit of Inadre’s

Inadre’s head is supported by a tight, long neck of significant thickness, which leads into an angular chin. This chin is beset by a constant layer of thick, dark grey and black stubble, which never reaches a true beard. Inadre’s face has many features of one that could have been reasonably attractive, but these features are warped by his life in the toxic world and the harsh demands of labor needed to survive. Inadre’s lips are pale and cracked, displaying some color, although they do not quite match his skin in this manner.

A miraculously undamaged, average nose is present in the center of his face, in the very early stages of receding into his face, flanked by two amazingly bright, crystalline blue eyes. Greying black hair, a few inches long, is splayed erratically across his head, rather greasy from minimal maintenance but in surprisingly decent condition.

Inadre prefers to dress himself in practical clothing, and is as such dressed rather simply, wearing thick leather boots that are durable enough to be suited for combat, and thick breeches and a thick, short sleeved tunic, both of which are an extremely dark shade of black, with the breeches being slightly darker. A satchel typically rests on his back, carrying assorted odds and ends. A large, brutally curved knife lies hidden in a barely visible compartment of his satchel. It is well made, wide, and thick, and at seven and three quarter inches long, discounting the curve, is more similar to a machete, and well able to parry most blows from a sword, and deal devastating wounds. Inadre is rather skilled with the blade, which while not truly named, he calls Willbreaker. It is a small weapon by arms standards, but necessary for his job, as an warrior, an assassin, and a saboteur.

Equipment: Inadre is equipped with very light lamellar steel armor, as well as a small steel buckler, a recurve bow, and a short steel sword.
Personality: Inadre would seem out of place in the nearly hedonistic Lokezmai Dominion, based on his total dedication to his work ethic, until one realized he simply gained pleasure more heavily than others from combat. While he still occasionally enjoys the pleasures of the city, it is combat that calls him, resulting in his occupation.

Inadre is exceptionally creative and cunning, showing a brilliance and tactical ability few can rival. Inadre is far from terse, using unnecessarily flowery verse far more often than could ever be necessary – a trait that seems extremely surprising from a man of his position and appearance.

Nonetheless, Inadre is still rather cold and ruthless beneath this, and best not trifled with. He is completely loyal, like all Salaka, to the Violet Council and to his brothers, and no one else.

    Picture: no.

Background: Inadre serves as a Salaka, a position with no direct analogue. He is one of the greatest of the personal soldiers of the Violet Council, recruited for their bloodlust and talents. They are few, and all members are trained to exceed even the greatest of enemy combatants, in great contrast from the usual strategies of the Lokezmai Dominion. While the lower ranked Salaka serve as leaders of the nation’s secret police force, the higher ranks serve as specialized, totally loyal specialists of the Violet Council, enacting sabotage, assassinations, kidnappings, and murder, or anything else, in the name of their masters.

All are masters of stealth, combat, strategy, diplomacy, tracking, etc. and possess extremely honed minds and bodies.
