Each major faction on the frontier would logically have it's own currency. Logically, Blackdown should either use the closest pirate-nation's coinage, or rely on it's own gold mint. The former seems more likely.

I had imagined etheris as a highly corrosive liquid (what else would vicious titan skybeasts have for blood, after all? Fondue?) and the refined valentin fuel as the really nasty radiation-esque stuff .

Also, didn't we say waaaaaaaay back that the Admiralty used 'marks' as its currency? I think I asked you when I was doing my character sheet...

Admirality seems to be using Marks. And people in BD as well. Atleast for posts so far. I imagine its like old currency, everyone has their own, but whats import is their weight and such. Ideally, the frontier would be barter heavy aswell.

Duchess - About the marks, you're right. I honestly forgot what we were calling them . alright, so "marks" it is. And about the etheris. It's highly dangerous even in its unprocessed state. The way that I see it working is like this -- It's a liquid that can be contained, but if it makes contact with open air it becomes a really crazy gas that can spread extremely quickly. This gas is highly poisonous and can kill someone very quickly if contact is made, but it dissipates in time. When etheris hunters take it from the skymonsters that carry it, they have to use special machines, and at this moment in time, the etheris machines that the Frontier use can only "suck out" a certain amount from the skymonsters before they go haywire.

Rytak-- Actually, the different pirate territories having their own kind of currency makes a whole lot of sense. Let's take that idea and go with it. As for Blackdown using Clan Valentine's currency, I don't think the Warfords would go for that. While they do have a certain kind of mutual relationship with them, Blackdown is still independent, and the Warfords want to create their own little niche in the Frontier, so yeah, I think they'd try to introduce their own form of currency.

Well, they could always take marks and pirate coinage, heat them up, and re-stamp them with the Warford crest. It'd make a nice little assortment of oddly-made coins that would fit Blackdown's ramshackle appeal.

And I made a post! *cheers* Not quite the last thing I'll be doing tonight, but pretty close. Heh... Ooh, currency discussion. Good thing I know very little about it. Still interesting. But my head's too tired for working straight.
