SIREN CITY

2051 – Deadly pandemic called “siren” begins to spreads across the world
2052 – world governments fund and build a state of art research facility in the oceanic where the world’s greatest minds attempt to find a cure.
2053 – Pandemic “siren” is cured.
2055 – Research facility expands massively to the size of a large city and becomes the world’s centre of scientific research. It is now called siren city.
2060 – Siren city is declared a sovereign nation free of external governmental control.
2070 – Scientists discover self-augmentation, giving humans the ability to perform extraordinary feats.
2080 – Self-augmentation considered too dangerous and is prohibited. A civil war erupts.
2085 – The Siren city government subdues the revolutionists by releasing a large army of robots called the sentinel and a group of human specialists called enforcers. The city is left in ruins.
2090 – Siren city is struggling to return to its former glory as crime is abundant. The sentinel and enforcers becomes the main police force of the city.

Self-augmentation is still illegal but there are still those who use it secretly. Will you use it to silence crime or will you wreak havoc on the city?

Appearance: Hayden is an outgoing ordinary looking young man with light brown layered hair - his fringe covers his left eye. He is fair skinned and has dull grey eyes, however when he uses his powers, his eyes glow bright purple and his skin fades into a pitch dark black colour. His clothing consists of an ordinary brown tee-shirt, khaki shorts and brown converse shoes. He carries a medium leather satchel, containing many compartments, containing items such as small sample bottles, a hard-cover notebook and fountain pen containing "ink".
Self-augmented power: Poison Generation
Weapons (if any): Two guardless daggers
Weakness (if any): The amount of poison that he can produce from his body is about 1L, a day, the deadlier the poison that he creates, the more of his reserve will be spent - he can store his poison up to a maximum of 5L. In addition he is excessively vulnerable to the cold.

Background info:
Hayden was born into a world of madness. His mother and father, two of the many scientist who discovered self-augmentation, had to offered him up for experimentation. He was categorized as "abnormal" when he was born, having a high level of stomach acid which was eating his insides away. With no other treatment available, looking for a miracle, his parents injected him with the newly discovered "medicine", which miraculously cured his condition. Joyous over the success the drug and their son, they sadly decided to give him away, knowing that they would be unable to raise their son whist continuing the project. They abandoned him - to a small orphanage outside Siren City, away from all the drama. His parents told the nuns of the orphanage to never reveal their identity to their son, he was better not to know them... they were right. Over the next decade as Hayden grew up, not knowing a thing about the world outside the orphanage, a civil wall erupted over the use of self-augmentation. Although he grew up not knowing his parents, he had his friends, other children abandoned by their parents, had three square meals a day, sometimes dessert, and he received gifts on his birthday every year, he didn't have a care on his mind.

As the peaceful years past, just hearing snippets of news about a war against monsters, not worrying at all, one day he noticed something was amiss. When he reached the age of 17 strange incidents began occurring. People, his friends, started getting sick around him, he didn't. When it was his turn to help cook in the kitchen everyone had gotten food poisoning, however he was always fine. He thought he just had high immunity, however after every sickness event, he saw that his arm would turn black for a few seconds and fade away, and his eyes would suddenly change colour to a bright purple and then disappear again. It had never occurred to him but then he thought to himself, could he of been one of those monsters the news were always talking about? He wanted to know his past, where did he come from?

One night he confronted one of the sister nuns that had raised him since he could remember, asking about his parents. But of course the sister denied knowing any information, keeping the promise to his parents, but Hayden knew she was lying. Desperately wanting to know, he grasped the nun tightly on the arm, asking her again and again, begging her to answer him, as she watched his eyes turned bright purple and his skin turned pitch black. He sharply let go of her arm when he had noticed his black arm, gazing at his skin as it slowly faded away back to his pale skin colour. Then he noticed the sister collapsed on the ground, she was feverish. He held tightly her in his arms, tears running down his face, and called out for help. She weakly looked up to him and whispered to him, "mail address...", and she fell unconscious. The other nuns came running to their fellow sisters room and carried her out from his arm, moving her to other room. He waited outside the room all night, hoping that she would be okay. The morning came and the other nuns left the room, they smiled to him and said "she is going to be fine, you can go see her, but she needs her rest", he faintly smiled back at them and shook his head in thanks. He entered the room, and saw her sleeping there, still feverish but better. He kissed her on her forehead and turned around to leave. He arm got caught, he turned around to see the the nun holding his arm, she smiled at him. To his amazement she was miraculously all better, no signs of fever that was there a few seconds ago. "Goodbye", she whispered to him, and he smiled back at her as she fell back to sleep. She knew what he was going to do, to go find out who his parents were. He thought to himself, why hadn't he thought of checking the address of the sender of his mysterious these years? He quickly ran to his room and grabbed the most recent package box he had received. "1 Research Street, Siren City", he read to himself. Hayden knew he had to go there. He quickly packed up the gifts he had received over the years into the satchel, also a gift, he pocketed the small amount of money he had collected over the years and left the orphanage without saying a word of goodbye.

Personality: Outgoing, energetic and headstrong, he will achieve his goals no matter what.

Self-augmented power:Peak physical conditioning.
Weapons (if any): Stun baton, Enforcer pistol, riot shield.

Background info: Lionel Lasky was created by the Siren city government to become an enforcer. Like all the enforcers he was made in a test tube. The enforcers were genetic augmentated with peak physical conditioning allowing them to have the skills off every type of olympic athelete (sprinting, swimming, weight lifting etc.). From the age of 5 they were taught how to fight and become soldiers. Every day was brutal and those who didn’t stay in order were immediately deemed “defected” and killed.
It wasn’t until the civil wars that Lionel truly showed his true potential. He was promoted to squad leader when he single handedly foiled a revolutionist plot. Thereafter he revealed an outstanding ability to command the sentinels and enforcers in battle in which he routed the revolutionist leader.
Now that the war is over he continues to command the sentinels and enforcers. He continues to enforce the law. He continues hunting those who use illegal self-augmentation.

Self-augmented power: Evolved Brain
Because of Jack’s evolved brain, his five senses are dramatically heightened and as a result he is very intelligent and knowledgeable. He is also able learn and adapt to anything very easily by simply using any of his senses (sight, hear, taste, touch, smell). For example, by simply watching a martial arts video he is able to learn that martial art within seconds. By hearing a song once, he is able to recite it for life. By tasting some unknown substance, he is able to list all the components within. By touching and feeling cards at a casino, he is able to remember any imperfections within the cards such as bends and/or markings easily etc etc. Although his senses allow him these advantages, they are in no means enhanced at all (for example, he does not have a better sense of sight, hearing etc etc).
Jack’s power mastery increases through repetition and experience much like the antibiotic effect. Usually after using a skill twice, Jack is able to perform it fluidly.


Weakness:
Although able to perform incredible martial arts etc, Jack isn’t able to do anything outside of his physical physique. For example, he wouldn’t be able to lift a house just by seeing another person do so. Jack Trades is actually very physically weak and so this limits his potentials.


Weapons:
None. Although Jack is able to use many weapons well, he doesn’t have enough strength to physically inflict enough damage to another augmented person based on his experience. As a result, Jack prefers the martial art of Wing Chun which doesn’t require strength and rather deflects attacks. Of course Jack doesn’t use this ability against augmented people but rather thugs and goons that he regularly deals with.


Background info:

Jack Trades was one of the many first people to be experimented on and so his augmentation was conducted shortly after his birth. The scientists didn’t see any significant effects on the newborn baby and so they returned Jack with a negative result to his normal parents who volunteered to donate their newborns to be augmented hoping for a useful power.

When Jack turned 10, self-augmentation was banned however Jack wasn’t too worried as he has lived a life believing he wasn’t an augmentation. As war erupted, Jack’s powers first activated whilst he was locked up at home and had nothing to do but helplessly watch constant fighting day by day. As his parents used to be college students, Jack had a lot of access to textbooks and one day Jack simply decided to flip through his daddy’s books to see what he did for a living. Just a mere skim of the book, and Jack had already memorised and learned all the contents of the book. The initial experience was too much for Jack to handle so Jack’s head started to hurt and fell into a coma due to the overload.

A week later, Jack woke up baffled by what he had experienced. Ignoring the pain he went through previously and overridden by excitement, Jack immediately reattempted his actions and flipped through book after book. Already, Jack has gotten used to his powers and discovered something he never felt possible before. By now, Jack has realised the danger he is in after discovering that he was an augmentation and has kept it hidden from his parents and everyone else.

Ten years later, Jack has turned 20 and has ever since lived his life under the radar, preventing any suspicion. After all, Jack’s power wasn’t anything as extraordinary as the other augmentations. In the ten years where a lot has happened in Siren City, Jack has lived his life on the computer learning countless skills over the internet. Due to Jack’s full maturation after puberty, his powers have also peaked. However because of Jack’s intense usage of his powers, his brain has aged quicker and his hair has turned grey.

At the age of 20, Jack has lived his life as an average achieving college student (to avoid attention) and has been gaining his wealth by underground gambling. Jack also makes a living in the underground by offering his services (his augmented power) to other people including vigilantes and criminals under the codename of DV. In return, those people must pay Jack a small price and promise to protect DV once, whenever he requests it. Anyone who doesn’t abide by DV’s conditions is usually blacklisted in the underground and is not welcome as DV is a highly respected figure. Whilst in the underground, Jack wears a hoodie and a mask to hide his identity.

Personality:
Jack is able to adapt to any personality to make a conversation proceed the way he wishes by using psychology. However, his usual self is normally very quiet and as he spends all his normal life on the computer, he is basically a chair potato and isn't very active. He has a very drowsy appearance. Although when Jack puts on his mask as DV, Jack can be quite loud and outgoing and also likes to make fun of people while being in the underground.

Though highly capable, Jack dislikes the thought of conflict and tries to avoid it as much as he can and stay neutral between good and bad. Even so, Jack finds it hard to keep a good balance to figure who is bad and who is good so DV often takes long breaks from the underground to take time to think. Although Jack uses his powers often, he barely uses it to take advantage over another person unless his own life is in danger. He is very selfish and this is displayed through his business conducted in the underground.

Vigilante or Criminal: Criminal
Appearance: Sincerity, or "Sin" as she's mostly known as, looks like any seventeen year old girl. She has light brown colored hair and bright violet eyes that seem to glow whenever she is standing in the shadows. Her clothing is made up of a black top that's cut off right above her bellybutton, skinny jeans that have been ripped numerous of times, and black boots. She always has her weapon resting on her hip and her bellybutton ring in.
Self-augmented power: Telekinesis
Weapons (if any): a double-bladed sword
Weakness (if any): Sin has many headaches whenever she uses her power too much, which ultimately might cause her own demise.
Background info: Sin comes from parents who were killed when they were captured while using their self-augmented powers. Ever since then, she's chosen to use her powers to cause havoc in the city. It's her own twisted way on getting revenge for the death of her parents.

Violet can get into people's heads and make them do what she wants. There almost no limit to this power. The only thing she can't do is make people kill themselves. ((Not that I would make her do that any way XP))

She's got a soft spot for young children and will not take any insults towards her parents.
Background info:

Violet grew up in the middle of all the hullabolu. Her parents had originally offered Violet up to be apart of something greater. They felt that they would help give birth to a better world. Then every thing turned sour. The experiments were stopped and deemed to dangerous and prohibited. Violet was given back to them. She had just barely been experimented on ,and what they used was a highly controversial mutation. Violets mother and father were restless. They wanted to lead the revolution of self-agumented beings. So they did.

Violet's mother and father setup a radio station preaching the "revolution". It was called Agumented. They knew that they couldn't be out there fighting with Violet in there possesion ,so they settled with that. everyday almost all day either Violets mother or father would get on air and keep everyone informed. Violet was hysterical with her enthusiasm. She didn't undersatnd what all of it really ment at the time, but she soon would. When Violet was old enough to be left on her own Violet's mother and father left the radio station to her while they were out in the real world "fighting the good fight".

One day a fellow beiever in the revolution came to Violets door. He told violet that her mother and father were dead. The goverment had released robots called sentinels. He told her the revolution was dead. Violet was in all sense of the word broken. Every thing she had believed in and everything she held dear was gone. The man held his head low and informed Violet her father had something he wanted to say to her. Her father's deing words had been Tell my daughter never give up hope, people are to be trusted.

Violet has lived by those words everyday after. She rebuilt her life relying on herself and meeting a few fellow Vigi's as she likes to call them to rely on as well. Violet still runs the broadcast though it is less often now. Violet doesn't have time. She's always around the city. She's lived in it so long she almost knows every knoock and cranny.Violet isin't oppessed to using her powers and if she sees someone in need she will not hesitate to use whatever means nesicary to save them. Also she will never turn anyone away as she always said 'people are to be trusted'. Something Violet has recently taken up is graffiti. On doors and the backs of stores she spray paints all kinds of things.
