Kasimir followed Zack through the crowd, deftly dodging the gathering people. With his usual look of vague interest Kasimir noted the exchange between Zack and the captain. It was without a doubt Zack was a Fire Adept, his spirit was zealous and eager to prove himself. Kasimir made a mental note not to cause any dissent between him and the Adept. Though he could hold his own in combat against Zack, Kasimir neither wanted nor desired to anger this man who now turned to the crowd, a fierce stare in his eyes. Following the stare into the crowd Kasimir tilted his head slightly, looking through the people who had gathered at the pier. It was quite a mixed crowd and it was certain not even half, maybe not even a quarter was any more capable of using Alchemy than a hare or a tortoise could. Nevertheless, there were indeed a few Adepts who had come at the prospect of adventure and gold, the two promises both sounded like bells in Kasimir's ears. It was always good to be on adventure and the gold... Well, that certainly had its charms. Those Adepts who had come were furious at Zack's boast, one of them even having the guts to lob a Psynergy-fused fireball at Zack.

Though Kasimir noticed too late to react and probably Zack would not have realized it either, the fireball was halted in midair, fizzled out against a chunk of ice that appeared out of thin air. The shards of ice dissipated the ball of flames and the ice melted upon impact. Within an instant Kasimir was on his guard, his feet securely planted on the ground. He liked contact with the ground, being out on the open sea had made him yearn for solid ground again where he could be more effective in combat. Kasimir readied himself and turned his head to Zack without taking his eyes of the crowd. He spoke calmly, but in his voice lay an eagerness to fight, despite his usual collected personality. "It seems you have angered them. Shall we fight them?"
