In Character:
Colonial Pharmaceuticals has been a leading manufacturer of prescription drugs in the United States of America since the 1950s. In 2009, after the Housing market went bust the year before, the stocks for Colonial Pharmaceuticals (NYSE symbol: COLP) dropped 65% in value but the company managed to remain afloat.
Colonial Pharmaceuticals is headquartered in Edison, NJ with production plants in Middletown, NJ and distribution center in White Plains, NY. The Company was incorporated in 1952 and its Initial Public Offering (IPO) was in 1955. The Current Chief Executive Officer inherited the company from his Grandfather, Edward Brooks in 1998 when the Grandfather passed away from an apparent heart attack at the age of 70. Charles Brooks', father, Peter was born in 1950 and Killed In Action as a soldier serving in the US Army in the Republic of Vietnam in 1970. Charles never knew his father.
On April 1st, 2012 a private yacht was found by the US Coast Guard Cutter, USCGC GALLATIN floating one hundred miles east of Cape Hatteras, NC. Aboard the yacht, the Coast Guard found the remains of seven people; the CEO, of Colonial Pharmaceuticals, 42 year old Charles Brooks; his wife, Catherine, aged 40; their 16 year old son, Jeremy; 14 year old daughter, Emily; the Captain/Pilot/Navigator, Duane Chandler; Steward, Leslie Dowd and Engineman/Mechanic Javier Lopez. The Coast Guard also reports that the vessel has been riddled with small arms fire; there are blood pools scattered throughout the boat, but the primary concentration is in the aft section where most of the bodies were found. The Coast Guard have cleared their personnel from the crime scene and are protecting it from contamination.
The GALLATIN typically patrols the eastern Seaboard and the Caribe looking for drug smuglers. They spotted this vessel as it appeared to not be under power. Your team has been requested to investigate these obvious murders due to jurisdictional issues. The Boat was found in US waters and flagged out of New Jersey.
OOC: Please state your intention of joining the RP by posting your character. Since this is essentially an investigation, conduct of the RP is dependent upon the number of people willing to Role Play as a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigations. There are slots for a team of five investigators, but I am willing to kick it off with two or three. IF there appears to be more desire for people to play detectives, we may be able to add them.
Rules:
1. Please adhere to the forum's policies regarding advanced RPs
2. All of my characters are Non-Player Characters (NPCs). You may interact with them in your dialogue, but cannot have them perform tasks in your posts.
3. I will moderate the thread by RPing several NPCs including the deputy director of the FBI in charge of criminal investigations, the US Coast Guard, employees of Colonial Pharmaceuticals and any other persons of interest who may arise during the investigation that are not covered by a registered member of this forum.
4. Conversations between two or more Player Controlled (PC) characters may make simple response statements (Q&A Posts) as long as everyone involved in the conversation are present at the same time and the conversation can be concluded before anyone must leave. If this is not possible, it is suggested that PCs engaged in a conversation use IRC to complete their conversation and one person take responsibility for posting the outcome of the conversation. Essentially, you have permission to make brief posts if you are conversing with someone as long as you are using proper grammar and everyone in the conversation is available to complete the conversation. (hopefully this makes sense.)

Each character should choose one Primary Field. Since we are looking for one and only one character specializing in that primary field, this will be on a first come, first served basis. 3. Education, Experience and Age. The Traditional Route to the FBI is with a Bachelor's Degree in anything. Education & Experience improve a person's chance of being accepted into the 20-week FBI academy at Quantico, Virginia. The more experience, training and education your character has the better off he is. Age 23 is the minimum age an FBI Candidate may be at admissions and field agents will be much older with years of experience.
Education, Training and Experience take time and they will add to your character's age. Assume your character graduated from HS at age 18, he/she will be 22 when he/she acquires a BA; 24 when receiving a Master's and 26 when completing a PhD. The Juris Doctorate of Law (JDL) is a three year program and could be acquired at age 25, minimum. An FBI agent with a JDL is serious consideration.
Certain Law Enforcement and civilian professionals may be hired from the field and admitted into the 20-week FBI academy at Quantico, Virginia. The traditional age limit for admission to the FBI academy is 37. Some may have this age restriction waived if it benefits the Bureau. For your character, the following minimums may apply for waivers:
Homicide: BA in any field plus ten years experience in local/State police as a Homicide Detective.
Finance: BA in Accounting and ten years experience as a CPA or working in Finance Industry.
Forensics: BA in any field plus fifteen years experience in CSI, CSU or Lab Technician.
IF you would like to add on specialties, you should add years to your character's age to cover education plus two years for working in a field.
4. Intelligence Quotient (IQ). Expect your character to have an IQ anywhere from 115 to 140. Only one member of the RP team may have an IQ of 160+ or be considered a Child Prodigy. This will be based on Moderator's approval. Only in the case of a Child Prodigy will a more younger agent be permitted.

"Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back." - Heraclitus I am in Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5)

She began pre-law courses, intending follow her father's footsteps.
These plans were put on hold when Lita became pregnant in her freshman year of college.
Spoiler
The pregnancy was the result not of a fairytale romance with her football-star boyfriend but a date rape drug at a party. DNA testing confirmed that the baby belonged to the boyfriend's best friend and there was nearly a murder before everything settled down.
Ignoring pressure from almost everyone to abort her child, Lita gave birth to Antonia Belle Barrons and brought the same excellence to being a single mother as she had to her schooling. Her parents were puzzled by the choice until they saw their grandchild who quickly broke down the walls of their resistance.
Lita decided to change her career path as well as the school she attended and studied with single-minded perseverance until she earned her Business Administration degree. Antonia spent more and more time with her grandmother as Lita became busier with her career, working for only two employers before entering the employ of Charles Brooks, stepping into the position of Executive Secretary.
Antonia is now grown and is attending college in Los Angeles so Lita rarely sees her. Lita has never married though there have been a few long-term relationships in her past. Her parents are still living in Johnstown and she rarely sees them either. Lita is at least borderline workaholic.

Waist is a nice body part to put your arm around as you draw someone close. Waste is something that you would want to wear gloves before touching.
Kings reign
You rein a horse Rain keeps fallin' on your head.
Two is the number Too when you mean 'also' (me too) or 'in excess' (too much) To for any other use

You can make a good haul of presents at Christmas or haul ass if you're in a big hurry.
You break a glass, a silence, or assorted heads if you're in a fight.
You brake a car to a stop.
If you throw out an interesting idea you may pique someone's interest.
You climb up to a mountain peak.
A quick peek behind the curtain can satisfy your curiosity.
