Name: Kogu Genkotsu Nickname/Alias: The Golden Fist Gender: Male Age: 16 Age Appearance: Late teens Sexuality: Straight
Village: Sunagakure Birthplace: Puchi Oashisu (Literally "Small Oasis". A tiny village in the far north of the Land of Wind) Organization:
Clan/Bloodline: Genkotsu: A forgettable, semi-nomadic clan whose only claim is a strong Taijustu boxing-like technique. The Genkotsu originated from the Land of Earth; however, over generations, have worked their way south.
Chakra Nature: Yang
Personality: To describe Kogu as "difficult" would be an understatement. Since his training began under his Uncle and Father in Puchi Oashisu, it was obvious that the up-and-coming ninja had copious amounts of raw, edgy talent. However, tapping into said talent was nigh impossible due to Kogu having a hard headed streak half a mile wide. One of his personal combat tutors once said, "He's either one a genius of combat or a fool of life. Quite possibly both."
With his hard headed ways, Kogu does not take well to authority without them retaining some sort of respect in his own eyes. However, there is undying loyalty in the young shinobi's heart... Not to the Land of Wind though, merely to his own family, whose symbol he has etched into the skin of his bicep. This sense of arguably misplaced loyalty has caused Kogu some... Issues among the clans. Many feel he can not be trusted and he is personally loathed by some of the other shinobi in Sunagakure.
Another aspect of Kogu's personality is his introverted ways, wild, yet rare, mood swings, and sense of self-confidence. Being labeled as somewhat of a traitor by his peers, the young ninja has developed introverted coping techniques. He will spend much of his time alone and reflecting upon self. This anti-social attitude has only worsened his reputation among some, including those in higher places. Combine this with a trend of violent, yet seldom occurring, mood swings, generally involving emotions of anger and wrath, and one can see why someone of such possible talent only recently received the rank of Chonnin.
History: The Genkotsu family's history is blurry; however, what can be determined is that they originate out of the southern part of the Land of Earth. Each generation has moved southward and have more-or-less settled, at least temporarily in Puchi Oashiu, a tiny oasis in the northern region of the Land of Wind. Largely subsistence farmers now, each family member is expected to pull their own weight in a lifestyle that sees little outside influence.
Born in the village of Puchi Oashisu to a family who is well-regarded, yet not particularly famous, for their fighting and shinobi ability, Kogu Genkotsu was one of five, three boys and two girls, and seemed destine for a decent rank among the many great warriors of the Land of Wind. However, this destiny was quickly put on hold shortly after training began. Kogu, the son of a man known as the Boxing Dragon and nephew of the Demon's Knuckle, was decent enough at the family boxing style of taijutsu, but he simply refused to mold his own unique style, self-coined Sutokobushi (Star Fist), to the family's more traditional and rugged fighting style.
Kogu developed the nickname of "The Golden Fist" after one of his many ex-trainers insulted his style, "You fight like a pompous brat! Prancing about, this way and that, without any form of intimidation to your foe. It is a pretty style, sure, but it is as effective as if you were a statue with your fists made out of gold."
Eventually, after giving up on 'reforming' the 'arrogant' fighting style into something deemed more effective and brawling, the young Kogu was sent off to the village hidden in the sands to begin his ascent up the ladder of ranks. This too was stalled by Kogu's attitude, resistance to teaching, and low written exam scores. Slowly, Kogu has drawn the ire of many in the village, thinking him something of a spy or simply a fool and lost cause. However, there are those that believe the unique Golden Fist fighting style not only compliments Kogu's abilities, but could be used as an incredibly effective tool for the nation itself. Those people are few and far between, but they exist, and hopefully one is willing to take the risk to give the young Genkotsu one last shot.
Description: A cestus is something of a battle glove, worn and used much like a boxing glove, however, instead of lessening the blow, as a boxing glove would, the cestus can be filled with substances, such as lead or iron, or even have blades attached. Each of the Genkotsu receive their own pair to customize as they see fit. Kogu's own personal cestus is dyed a metallic gold color is defined by large, steel plates over the knuckles.
Name of Weapon or Item: Takas (Literally: Hawks) x6
Description: An incredibly nontraditional weapon, this tomahawk-like weapon is sturdy and sharp, a perfect tool for cutting down small trees, chopping open enemy skulls, or thrown as a very accurate and deadly projectile. However, Kogu prefers his fists, thus this is more of a secondary weapon or simply a tool.
Name of Technique: Kagayakashii Mugen Keimei (Glorious Unending Dawn) Type of Jutsu: Experimental Taijutsu Rank: Range: Short-Medium Nature Type: Yin-Yang
Description: An experimental and self-made technique that plays directly off Kogu's Golden Fist style. Channeling his chakra, Kogu pulls massive amounts into one of both of his fists, while simultaneously tapping into his Kekkei Genkai. The energy is clearly visible and appears as a nearly blinding light emanating from Kogu's fist(s). This is used in a simple punching technique, the force of which varies greatly depending on the amount of chakra Kogu can handle, take into account his limited and amateur training. However, this particular jutsu is by far the most potentially devastating, with an ability to simply eradicate anything immediately in front of him, plus causing a serious shock wave to be sent out in the surrounding area.
Weakness: Due to the complicated nature of the jutsu, it requires a skilled user to tap into its full potential, which Kogu simply is not. The move itself will generally end up as doing only a fraction of what it could, which is still powerful in its own respect, but is so taxing on Kogu that it is simply not a logical option in actual combat.
Name of Technique: Perfect Sucker Punch Type of Jutsu: Taijutsu w/ Ninjutsu Rank: D Range: Short Nature Type: Yang w/ Wind
Description: Kogu is a close-range fighter, this much is obvious. Against a long range opponent, there are issues just waiting to be had. So, at a younger age, Kogu quickly found the solution to someone who was at a range advantage; get closer. Tapping into the wind element of his people, Kogu quickly, almost instantaneously, closes the distance to an opponent, finishing with a quick strike to the diaphragm of the foe. This attack is more of a 'tricky' move and one used to wear down the opponent or catch them off balance.
Weakness: The attack itself is not particularly strong, and can easily be recovered from, if recovering is needed at all. The move is more about closing the gap to an opponent than harm though. One real downfall to this move is that anyone who knows of Kogu's fighting style may predict that he will 'close the gap'; however, the sheer quickness of the move makes it harder to avoid, even if it is expected.
Name of Technique: Naguriaifuu (Way of the Fist): Type of Jutsu: Hiden Jutsu Rank: Range: Short Nature Type: Yang
Description: Strikes, especially from a closed fist, from a Genkotsu is like that of none other. A solid punch from even young Genkotsu's have the force to crush bone, and, from a more experienced family member, even disrupt chakra flow. The most famous user, Takimasu Genkotsu, the great great great grandfather of Kogu Genkotsu, was said to be able to cause instant death with a single, lightning fast jab.
As stated, this usually rough-and-tumbled technique is generally used in a 'stand your ground' type fashion, something Kogu completely bucks off. Kogu's Golden Fist technique is largely built around 'dancing' around the enemy and wearing them down with a combination of quick, accurate jabs in addition to the traditional heavy blows of Naguriaifuu. Light on his feet, Kogu puts a new spin on his family's style.
Weakness: Simply put, one cannot 'punch' another out of arm's reach. The Way of the Fist's power usually ends at the end of the arm, and, as such, is generally of limited use to someone from far away. However, there are exceptions for the more powerful users who can cause such things as shockwaves by striking the ground.
This RP has the ingredients to be one of the best I've been in a while!
*le stroking that ego hard -_-*
Edit: LOL! Okay, just ignore that he went outside... In fact, just ignore that whole post. I'll do another.
So far, all (except the RP that went on Naruto Genisis.com/whateverthefuck which is a site made by lyfe thats no longer used) have lasted fairly long. Mainly the thing that kills them is a GM taking a long break due to IRL problems or a bunch of people losing interest because the RP doesnt move fast enough, this typically causes people to join another Naruto rp (thinking they can multi-task when in reality...they cant)
So basically we can live forever if we follow 2 simple things:
1) All GMs ditch their IRL personality and become devoted 24/7 to the RP
2) We destroy any other Naruto RPs that pop up and pose a threat
Plus making Gamer a GM might help a little...
Myself-"Are you talking to me?!" Reflection-"No dumb ass! Your talking to yourself" Myself-"You don't have to be rude about it..."
