    SOLDIER 1st Class

Eden leapt off of a wall into the middle of a group of Wutai soldiers. As he landed with a thud on the ground he brought his sword out in a sweep around him taking out the three grunts surrounding him, he then stopped to make sure each one was down for the count. After that he ran off towards the center of he Wutai base where on his way he encountered a larger force then he had previous expected

"I hope you guys can keep up im about to level a small army. Yes that means Im keeping score. Oh yeah!" He said into the communicator on his person and headed into the group of Wutai.

Alastor leapt from a wall, the same that Eden had leapt from moments before and he looked at the carnage in front of him. With a smile he took a quick look around and decided it was better if he came from above. With a deep breath, Alastor leapt onto the building and smashed his way into the base, taking out a sniper as he entered.

As he drew his weapon, he looked about again and grinned as several soldiers sprinted down the hall towards him. Alastor ran to meet them, rolling as he came up closer, so as to duck under a volley of bullets they fired at him. He drove his sword into the stomach of the first soldier and, without time to take it out he left it planted in the soldier and picked up the grunt's weapon. With the rifle he stood up and a round grazed his leg. He grunted in pain and fired blindly. The bullet smashed the soldier's breastplate and drove into his heart, and as he fell, Alastor drove the butt of the rifle into the last soldier's stomach, spun the weapon around and fired again, this time the round drove through the Wutai soldier's helmet, skull and brain.

Alastor dropped the rifle and ripped his sword out of the first soldier. He cleaned the blood from Bane and sprinted down the hall, in the general direction of the centre of the base, as he knew the heaviest resistance would most likely be there, it was simple tactics. Alastor decided that if that was where the resistance was heaviest, then close-combat would be more likely, easier for him to come into his element. But it would also probably drop him behind their lines, if not then he'd fight a second front, meaning that the soldiers would be split down the middle. Two fronts. Then a group could probably make it through. The main thing Alastor wanted, though was to destroy as many as he found, none would pass him, he had too much to defend.

Sid crept quietly down the hallways of the Wutai base, although his stealthy, subdued footsteps seemed a bit pointless, their soft sound muffled by the blaring alarms screaming through the hallways. It was just a simple bombing mission -- "just like the simulations" according to any SOLDIER. Sid, unfortunately, did not have access to these simulations, and thus, he wasn't exactly as confident as the others. He was more comfortable defusing bombs than he was planting them.

He hadn't even met the SOLDIERs he was working with on this particular mission, although he didn't particularly care either way. He was in such high demand supporting various teams (most SOLDIER support troops were already advanced up, leaving the "4th" rank soldiers very scarce) that he often didn't bother learning names and faces. He wasn't even sure how many were accompanying him on this particular mission. But once again, he didn't particularly care. Oh yes, there could be dozens of them out there, slicing through enemies like nothing.

But of course, the duty of carrying the bomb went to the one, lowly, disposable support MP. Of course.

He turned a corner with an anxious burst of panicked speed, one hand on his sword and the other cradling the explosive charge. Thankfully, there was no one in the hallway -- he didn't want to be shot at while carrying a bomb, for obvious reasons. Not that he ever wanted to be shot at in general, of course. He wasn't surprised to find the halls mostly empty; their plan had worked swimmingly. The SOLDIERs were to launch a frontal assault on the base to draw attention away from the other entrances. Indeed, the SOLDIERs were very good at drawing attention to themselves; they were the shiny new toys of Shinra's army, very difficult to overlook and very intimidating. Once the Wutai swarmed the SOLDIERs, Sid would quietly slip in the back door, plant the bomb, exit, and give the signal to detonate once he was a safe distance away.

The Wutai base wasn't originally a military base at all; it used to be a factory, as evident in the design. Long conveyor belts stretched along many of the rooms, dusty and rusty from years of little to no use. A few offices and locker rooms were sprinkled throughout the building, but otherwise it was a series of narrow hallways connecting the various assembly rooms. As for what the factory produced, Sid wasn't quite clear, although the old machine parts still cluttered about here and there lead him to believe it had something to do with robotics.

He was supposed to find a service elevator to the sub-basement level and plant the bomb in the boiler room, where the explosion would cause a chain-reaction large enough to level the entire factory. The hastily drawn floor plan he received en route to the factory was little help to him, especially with the flashing red alarm lights making it difficult, if not impossible to read.

At last Sid approached the door of the service elevator, hastily pressing the "down" button as he glanced all around him, making sure no one was coming. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the doors finally slid open, and Sid quickly ducked inside, pressing the SB1 button with all due haste. He figured now would be a good time to radio in to command and let them know he was on his way to planting the bomb. He opened the channel to his superiors, making quite sure he wouldn't be broadcasting to any of the SOLDIERs outside. He wouldn't want to bother them on their oh-so-important mission.

"This is SOLDIER 4th Class Sid, reporting in. I am on my way to the sub-basement level with the bomb. No contact so far," he finished, re-opening his transceiver to receive all transmission once more. A moment passed in the elevator before he heard command's response.

"Be advised, SOLDIER 4th Class Sid, there is a-"

Immediately another transmission from one of the SOLDIERs came through, talking over the rather important advice he was about to receive.

""I hope you guys can keep up! I'm about to level a small army. Yes that means I'm keeping score. Oh yeah!" came a voice from the other end. Sid shook the transceiver furiously in frustration. He'd just missed the entire message from command. He once again opened the channel to home base.

"Repeat that last transmission command. There was chatter on the com," he radioed back, using "chatter" as a substitute for a much less pleasant description of what he really thought of the situation. The elevator stopped at the basement level as Sid shook his head in exasperation. They were always a bit late repeating orders. Before the doors could slide open, however, a metal claw pierced through them and grabbed Sid's arm, yanking him out of the elevator roughly, smashing him against the heavy metal doors in doing so. At a complete loss for what was going on, he could only give a grunt of surprise as the metal claw tossed him roughly against the basement wall.

Rubbing his head, the dazed MP rose to his feet, trying to get a better view of his surroundings. The sub-basement was a dim room, much more dark than light. It appeared to be a storage chamber of some sort -- a high ceiling and barren unpainted walls made up the the foundation of the room, while various large wooden crates and huge metal storage units littered the room, providing lots of cover. Several catwalks and support columns provided the finishing touches -- indeed, this was a storage room. That meant the boiler room was just one hallway away.

Unfortunately for Sid, it didn't seem like he would be going anywhere any time soon. His attacker came into view as it moved dauntingly into the light, the whirring of its many robotic legs inciting more than a little bit of fear in the soldier.

    ((Cue mood music.))

    ENCOUNTER!

    SR-301 ARACMECH
    -GIANT ROBOTIC GUARD SPIDER-

"Be advised, Sid, the Wutai have reactivated one of the old security bots they found and it is currently patrolling the basement level," came command's eventual response, although it was a bit too late, unfortunately. The robotic spider gave a mechanical hiss as Sid fumbled to pick up his sword, although he wasn't sure just how much use his sword would be in this situation anyway. He was worried, however, by the fact that he'd dropped the bomb in his confusion, and he couldn't spot it anywhere in the immediate vicinity.

He didn't exactly have time to poke around, as the spider was beginning to charge at him, two claws scraping against each other menacingly. He gripped his blade tightly as if to reassure himself, even though he had no idea what to do in this situation. As the spider drew closer, Sid quickly leapt to his left, landing deftly out of harm's wat in a three point stance and allowing the spider to crash carelessly into the wall behind him. The MP was faster than the spider had calculated; it wouldn't have been the first time he was underestimated. Sid took this moment to quickly duck behind a storage unit out of the spider's line of sight, broadcasting to all channels.

"This is SOLDIER support 4th Class Siegfried Dagless. I have been ambushed by a guard mech in the basement level and dropped the bomb. I repeat, I have been ambushed and have dropped the bomb. Requesting back-up immediately," he spoke hurriedly. Normally he would hate having to be "rescued" by those damn SOLDIERs, but given his current circumstances, he didn't seem to particularly care. He was more worried about how the SOLDIERs would get down to the sub-basement fast enough -- the service elevator was the only way he knew of, and the spider had already totaled it. Swearing under his breath and gripping his sword tightly, Sid wasn't exactly having a good day.

Eden did a roll past an enemy's line of fire, knocking over two of them in turn. He swung his sword out in front of him and carried it behind him takeing out 3 of the surrounding Wutai. He jumped into the air and launched a volley of fire materia towards the ground, "Look its rainin' FIRE." He said with an enthusiastic grin, he knew that if he could pull off this mission there was a definate chance that he would get first class.

After the force blocking his entrance to the main building was dealt with he heard a message on the comm. saying "This is SOLDIER support 4th Class Siegfried Dagless. I have been ambushed by a guard mech in the basement level and dropped the bomb. I repeat, I have been ambushed and have dropped the bomb. Requesting back-up immediately." Eden instantly pushed the buttom on his comm. and replied, "This is SOLDIER 2nd Class Eden Merrick. I am on my way now Sid." And he took off into the building.

Once he got into the building he had expected a resistance of some sort, but it seemed that all the forces were outside fighting the battle, none were defending the fort. He ran through the halls in search of a service elevator, he knew from breifing that would be the only way down. In his search among the halls he saw a dead shinra assault troop. In respect he walked to the guy and grabbed his tags and his gun, and before he left the body he closed the troop's eyes. "Thank you for the gun Austin, your going to save somebody inparticular's life and not to mention you helped make this world a better place."

Upon leaving that corridor he searched for a way to the basement when he recalled that the only way down was a service elevator. "Alright now we just have to search this whole place." He said sarcastically as he began to duck in and out of halls. He just hoped they didnt start defending inside the base, he hoped that all forces were outside. It's not like he had tons of time on his hands.

Levitus sneered slightly as he strode through the various corridors of the factory turned army base. Why Wutai thought this would be a good choice was beyond imagining, but then why they thought they could win was just as unbelievable. “You there, stop!” Levitus whirled around taking in the sight of the eight soldiers standing in front of him. Immediately he activated his materia and firing off twin fireballs which exploded consuming two of the soldiers.

“Did you really think I would just stop? Tsk, tsk, how naive” He asked them mockingly. The other six growled at him and charged, their anger making them forgot the guns they carried as they attempted to simply swarm him under superior numbers. Levitus inwardly rolled his eyes at their plan, and ducked under the first strike stabbing one of them through the chest and letting another fireball flow through his sword and into the one behind him. “Only four of you left, would you care to surrender?”

The four remaining growled at him, ignoring his offer, regained control of themselves and began to lay down a hail of fire on him. Levitus sighed and ducked and weaved his way out of the path of the bullets until their clips ran out. Instantly he was on them, decapitating one and letting two more blasts of fire devour two more, leaving only one left. “Want to surrender yet?” He smirked at the last remaining Wutai soldier. The soldier merely shook his head and fired another clip. Shaking his head at the folly Levitus simply ran him through.

“This is SOLDIER support 4th Class Siegfried Dagless. I have been ambushed by a guard mech in the basement level and dropped the bomb. I repeat, I have been ambushed and have dropped the bomb. Requesting back-up immediately."

“Ah, how unsurprising our little non soldier, needs help, well I had better go play hero for him.” Levitus sheathed his sword and sprinted to his location. He appeared just in time to watch as another SOLDIER jumped down the elevator shaft. “Ok, he is an idiot.” Jumping into the center of the elevator and grabbing onto one of the wires Levitus slid down the elevator shaft slowly and then jump out through the whole the other SOLDIER just made. Taking stock of the situation, the SOLDIER standing in front of the death machine and the bomb carrier hiding behind a pillar. Levitus sighed and fired off a thundera at the machines unprotected back before jumping behind one of the other pillars.

SOLDIER 3rd Class Tobias Xrosblade leaned forward, standing away from a wall upon which he had been leaning. He looked back. A girl with a green streak in her hair looked down at him, drawing her straight sword slowly.
"Looks like we're in Toby," the girl stated rather dryly.
Tobias began to walk forward, Natasha slipping off the broken wall and following. Tobias put a finger to his ear, activating his communicator and dialing it in to the frequency from which he had just received a transmission.
"This is SOLDIER 3rd Class Tobias Xrosblade accompanied by SOLDIER 3rd Class Ω Natasha Hardsights. We are en-route," he announced, beginning to head deeper into the beginning.
