A Lovecraftian Diesel-Punk RP

The year is 1931. The Great War, which lasted from 1922 to 1930, has only recently ended and European reconstruction is underway. While the world tries to regain a sense of normalcy after the war and move on, something strange has been unearthed deep beneath the ocean waves. Within the following months, a rash of savage murders and suicides marred by horrendous self-mutilation appear. They few arrested have mumbled only two words.

He comes.


So this yet-unnamed RP involves a some modern Lovecraftian horror mixed with diesel punk and some alternative history for good measure. Expect a large amount of nigh-impossible body horror and a cosmic horror show that will leave every single cast member dead or insane.

This is Lovecraftian horror after all.

Glad to see the interest has grown I'm starting to get a backstory put together.

In this universe, the Archduke Ferdinand survived the assassination attempt and the war was delayed by eight years. The war later broke out directly between the Entente and the Central Powers. Russia remained out of the war, due to being embroiled in a civil war against the Red Army. The war was excessively brutal; Paris was captured by the Germans, London was nearly leveled by heavy railroad guns, and the slow push into Germany by Entente forces left central Europe a blackened wasteland. The American entry into the war managed to push the German's back deep into German territory. By the time Austria-Hungary collapsed in late 1929, Entente guns were bombarding Berlin. With no other options available to them, Germany surrendered.

By the time the RP opens, most of Central Europe has been occupied by the Entente. While politicians bicker and argue over new borders and reparations, the real nasty shit will be going on in the RP. The war will be rather important to the setting other RP, as virtually every character from a western nation would've been affected by it.

The RP will probably start in New York City and will pick up characters as the story moves. Be warned though, this RP will NOT be kind to the characters. Don't expect anyone to be alive at the end. Our resident eldritch abomination isn't nice.
