When Melly came into the cell, Red was scared as fuck, right up untill she knew it was him. He had been beat up pretty bad, they all had but she was just relived they where all still living. She almost had a heart attack when he started talking to them,
"MELLY! I THOUGHT YOU WHERE DEAD!" She couldn't help hugging him.
Melly looked down at Red. He was practically towering over her in his new form, and he wasn't used to being so tall. He looked over to see Wrath passed out. All of them looked like Hell and it was a wonder that none of them had died.
I'm so happy you're okay. I was so worried about everyone. Melly thought into her mind. He flicked his tail and then put his large arms around Red to hug her.
Red felt positively tiny hugging the new Melly, but the didn't care. It was nice being hugged by a giant. Mellys new form was much more threatening and dangerous than his other one, and Red loved it. She let go and went over to Wrath, to see if he was ok. She shook him, and poked him a bit to try and wake him, that was the extent of her medical abilities. Little Melly watched Red poke Wrath, and noted that he didn't really seem to move much. More or less just groaned in agony, which was terrible to have to sit there and watch.
I am pretty sure that breaking out this time, Will not be so easy. He thought to the Ancient Demon. Red ceased prodding Wrath, who didn't seem to be enjoying that at all.
Yes....but it is definitely possible, She thought to him. She firmly believed that it was possible to break out, there was always a way.
I am sure there is, but how? Melly looked around. He felt stupid a moment later when he saw just what Red was standing on. Red. Is that a.... trap door? He asked, getting down to all fours to investigate. He ripped the dirt from the earth, and ran his snout down and along this wooden door. A gust of air traveled through his nostrils and he sneezed. I think it is!
Red felt stupid for not noticing that. She opened it up and looked down it. It was pitch black in there, so the summoned some blood red flames, to light the way. There was a long dark tunnel, that sloped downwards steeply.
Grab Wrath, and we'll follow the tunnel out of this wrenched place. She started walking down the slope.
Okay, be careful. Melly said. He grabbed Wrath, through him over his shoulders, and then began to follow her into the darkness....
The tunnel was long, and every step took them further from their captors but closer to the unknown destination that the tunnel lead to. They walked for what seemed like days (but it was really only about 15 minutes, Reds just impatient). When they finally reached the end, they climbed out and found themselves in the underground.
Oh well this is just fan-tucking-fastic. She thought to Melly, figuring he was probably thinking something similar to himself.
Melly looked around. There were TONS of corridors that led in all directions. Any one of them could lead them further into the Underground, and that would be dangerous to them all. Melly carried Wrath on his back, and snorted.
Middle one it is. He grumbled. Lucky for them, this was going to lead them right up into the adove ground, where they would wind up behind the Castle's "courtyard" (or what was left of it) and emerge into the forest just behind it.
The only problem? The amount of Underground creatures that they were about to cross paths with.
Red had only been to the Underground once, and she hadn't enjoyed it. It was full of dangerous creatures but, there was probably nothing that they couldn't handle... she hoped. As they trudged onwards, and encountered nothing hostile, Red became more alert to every sound and less oblivious to every little movement in the shadows. She was just waiting for something to go wrong.....
They walked for a while, so far so good. Thinking that this were going to be easy, they talked back and fourth about random shit to keep their thoughts from the darkness. Thankfully, Red's epic abilities kept the area lit up so that they could see. After taking a turn that would put them outside of the castle (yet still beneath the ground) they ran into trouble.
Fuck my life. Was Melly's response as ten shadow guards showed up. There was no way this was going to be easy. Melly sat Wrath down, wishing that he hadn't been passed out. He was sick and severely injured, and was definitely going to be an easy target for their enemies to attack.
"Get them!" The lead guard said, running towards Red and Melly with a sword. Red knew Melly would be more helpful not worrying about Wrath, she stood by him and guarded him the best she could by fending off guards while Melly went and dealt to the others.
Melly kicked one of the guards with his powerful new legs. He was much faster, and a fuck of a lot stronger too. He picked up another one going for Red, and then threw him into the others. Unsure of their weaknesses, he figured that without heads they wouldn't be of much use. So he tore off their helmets, sunk his jowls into their faces and necks, and tore their fucking heads off.
Red you're fire magic would really be of some use right now! He howled, getting stabbed in the leg. He fell over just as one guard was about to stab him square in the face!
"One blazing inferno of death and destruction coming right up!" Red laughed. She was enjoying herself.
Red cast an epic inferno around them (but avoided Melly), it scared most of the guards that where in range of it away and as they fell back, she let it die down. She stayed alert in case there where more nearby, but it seemed as though the coast was clear for the moment.
Immediately Melly got to his feet and just scooped Red up and set her behind his head on his shoulders. He wasn't used to the strangely feathered wings that he had, so he leaned down, picked up Wrath, who was de-transformed back into his sub-human state, and ran for it. Lucky as can be - they made it through the passage, up a stone stair case, and out into the open forest. Melly looked back, and could see the Castle of Oblivion in the distance. He kept running with them both, until he was several miles into the Northern Forest. When he thought that it was safe, he set them down in the grass, and set up camp. They weren't going back to the castle of a while...
