The Capital of the Avalonian empire is based on New Kent, a sparsely populated garden world inhabited purely by elites and their servants, and surrounded by military space-stations. It orbits the sun known as Lancelot. Two other inhabited worlds can be found in the Lancelot system. Durham, which is the most densely populated planet in the empire and its economic heartland, and Oxford, a world devoted to intensive farming and food production.
The next nearest star is Gallahad, where the heartland of the empire's military establishment is based. There is only one inhabited world in the Gallahad system, called Warwick. The four moons of Warwick are also inhabited.
The stars Lyonell, Blubrys, Lucane, Eddlan, Kay, Alynore, Garethe, Lamorak, Marys, Dagonet, Degore, Lybus, Bors, Gallfryd, Escanox, The Three Sisters (Albin I + II + III) and Alfred form the 'inner systems'. These are the most established star systems in the empire, most having been settled for a few generations at least. They provide the bulk of the resources of the empire, everything from fuel drawn from the planets Bristol and Ashford, to heavy minerals from Manchester.
Plomyde, Safer, Ectorde, Havlan, Hampstead, Bristol, Offa, Gawane, Kells, Chalk, Kelso, New Sol, Barwick, Icenii, Caeloni, Lucifer, Siren, Perth, Huntly, Camden, Tottingham and Gaune are the 'outer systems' less well established than the inner systems, though still considered fairly safe. Gaune is the home system to the ships 'Ulster' and 'Lothian', carrying populations from Scotland and Northern Ireland, and a major source for the empire's armies. These populations share the rugged, grim world of Iona, where militarised 'regiments' have become tribal units, creating a state of near constant warfare. This aids the empire, by weeding out the 'weak' and creating skilled veterans.
Beyond the outer worlds are the Border systems. The wild west of the empire, the rule of the Empress is weakest here, where local magnates, lords and margraves hold much more control. These systems are named Delyens, Bedwere, Gartifex, Tolkien, Skara, Flodden, Errant, Devon, Gilgamesh, Steward, Chonnaught, Cobalt, Seneschal and Mordrede. Mordrede is home to the planet Cornwall, which was once home to a simplistic race known as the Sybir, who's technology had roughly equated with neolithic man. What they called their own world is now lost, and they have been pressed into slavery by the oppressive empire.
Population: 520 billion (not including 5 million Sybir on Cornwall and potential alien immigrants in the Border systems, or aliens acting as mercenaries on Iona.)
