My most recent character from "Don't Eat the Red Snow."
NDC or DC: NDC
PVP or NPVP: NPVP
Name: Vlad Tokarev
Aliases/Nicknames: The Bear
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: To put it in short terms, callous and brutal. He does not care who's who, but nobody bars his way. However, he stays clear to the job and is only in it for the money. However, he now does what he can to survive. Because of the apocalypse interrupting his work and killing his bosses, it was no longer about money. It was all about his own hide. He does not care about other survivors, for he, like most Russians, suffered enough already.
Armor: Vlad's trench coat is resistant to knives and melee weapons. He also wears a helmet to protect his head. Zombies, he presumed, were only able to use melee. The helmet is enough to protect from common rounds such as 9mm Parabellum or if he is lucky enough, 7.62x39mm. However, there is only so much damage the helmet can take, meaning Vlad needs to be especially careful around humans. The helmet itself is made from Kevlar.
Gasmask: Improvised gas mask for tear gas and other related agents. Back in his time, he learned how to make an improvised gas mask to counter the likes of US police and FSB agents. It could theoretically be resistant to nerve agents, but even Vlad does not want to take his chances. The components of his gas mask are a pair of bandannas soaked in vinegar and lemon juice, smashed up charcoal as part of the filter, a scuba diving mask, zip ties and staples to hold the stuff together, a cloth hood, and sliced metal cans. Though it is done in a haphazard manner, the makeshift gas mask proved enough for Vlad when police brought out tear gas. Fortunately, he can wear his helmet on the gas mask. It just requires Vlad to take off his helmet first, equip the gas mask second, and put the helmet on last. However, this will cost him in comfort.
Weapons: Makarov Pistol and Balisong--Filipino butterfly knife. The Makarov was always with him. As for the knife, he bought it from the black market. Anyhows, these weapons served the enforcer well. He would also pick up anything else he can find, scavenging for ammunition and weapons in order to be thrifty on his own weapons. The Balisong was chosen as a weapon of fear, concealability, and skill, while the Makarov was chosen as simple, rugged, easily concealable, and can kill in a pinch.
Paraphernalia: Four 8 round magazines in 9x18 Makarov, including the active magazine. Items to make his day durable would be a few energy bars and 8 oz bottles of water. This is all stored in his trench coat.
Skills: Brutality and thuggery are his fortes. Intimidation and violence are two examples. Thanks to his strength, he can be counted on for hard labor. For this, he can be the go-to guy for sheer brute force and as an enforcer. As for hard labor, he can help build stuff and shoulder some of the burden.
Weaknesses: This Russian with "anger issues" is not exactly suited to tasks opposite of his fortes. A glaring example of this is trying to persuade the opposite side. Because he is known to have a short temper, he lacks the patience to do tasks that require outright precision. Sneaking may be an issue due to his size, meaning he'd be better as the distraction than as a rogue.
Family/Acquaintances: None that he cares about, save for an older sister of his. Vlad dares not to return, as they might become hostile to him. His new concerns are a big factor, such as infection. Still, he decided to move on and stay strong like Mother Russia. Likewise with his former romance below, he would be rather surprised to see them unharmed by the zombies.
Romances: According to Vlad, he used to be sweet on a girl he was infatuated with. Helga Dragovicha was her name. But not that it matters to him anymore. Vlad decided to move on as well. Presuming every other Russian suffered like him, the Bear callously disregarded the former romance.
Biography/History: This Russian is a by-product of the Russian Federation. Being a son of ex-Soviets, he has decided that working with the Russian Mafiya, which hosted ex-Soviets, would be most profitable. Prison was expected, but thanks to corrupt wardens and officers, Vlad was able to get a slap on the wrist for beating a man up in a drunken brawl.. He was also a Mafiya enforcer even when he was reassigned to the United States. Unsurprisingly, his reassignment was after the assault he committed. When the apocalypse occurred, it's became all or nothing. Now this rough and tumble brute has to be careful during this time.
