ah good thought. I left an opening for a best friend to come in if you like that for a human character, if not ignore it and I can fix it up lol

apologies it's not much in terms of plot development, but I lacked a flow of where I wanted this to go, so I just winged some character and relationship exposition, I hope that's ok

It's cool, and I do like the bits about Damien's character. Think I'll fast forward to them getting out of school, unless there's some school related eventually you want to show Damien going on.

The Bat of Reason
nah tbh I really have no inspiration when it comes to writing in-school anyway, so that's perfect for me

So I'll have that be our store they're looking into now.

The Bat of Reason
when are we planning on having an introduction (or further introduction, in your case) of the doll characters?
-
Sobbing over Pizza
We can do that next if you want. What are you thinking?

I'm thinking either through accident or your character's persuasion we somehow end up breaking a window which draws the store's attention to us. My character runs the hell out of there followed by you, probably somewhat bemused, and that night the store wakes up and sends out its little demons. Maybe it disappears, but before it does some other people come across the broken window and steal a few dolls, which is why they stay in town. If you really want to make things complicated, your character could pocket one too and have to fight it off, or have it be Alma herself

Well, I was thinking of having Jay perhaps steal a doll- it's why I gave him that trait. Maybe he can steal a doll that is a character controlled by you, who, I dunno, tries to kill him, and Damien has to defend him from that? That would lead to some interaction between us, sort of, I think. Unless you want to somehow introduce a characters of yours before then?

no, that should work fine. I don't want to have it happen straight off though, so we might want to contrive a reason for Damien and Jay to cross paths that night; maybe Damien talks a bit about the store and then when he's attacked, he's the only person Jay can think of to go to for help or something along those lines. Or Alma could warn Damien that Jay's in trouble
