Bumping this. You know, we don't even have to do other works. They can be original characters who we mess with. I just rather like the idea of chaotic beings playing cupid.
A friend and I, somehow, got started talking about Romeo and Juliet and how much we hated that play...because we're mean. Then we got started talking about other romantic works and how we found them, for the most part, either boring or insulting.
Later on in the day I somehow got roped into a group that was talking about crossing over different works of Shakespeare, and that's sort of where this idea came from.
In Puck Love, both players will play a a handful of characters, however our main characters will be Oberon and Puck from A Midsummer's Night's Dream, or Puck and some other fairy. On a whim, the fairies decide to travel to other worlds and use their magic and potions to mess with the minds and hearts of other famous couples.
So, right. This will be a multi-work crossover RP. As for works our fae heroes can cross into, I say the only limit is what we both know. I wouldn't expect my partner to have to roleplay in The Scarlet Pimpernel universe if they knew nothing about that, and by the same token, and not too savvy on video games and anime. So hopefully we'll find some common ground. It might be safe to stick to stories that are known by everyone, such as classic movies.
This roleplay can go in three different directions.
Oberon: All this love tripe is ridiculous! Break up Romeo and Juliet! Then break up their parents! Then make sure no on in Verona ever falls in love again!
Puck: Aye, sir...*It's going to require truckloads of HateHeart root...*
Our characters hate all romance and romantic entanglements, so they go about breaking, not just the main couples, but all the characters up.
Oberon: You know, it would be much better read if Romeo fell in love with a dolphin.
Puck: I'm on it, Your Majesty! *Where am I going to find a dolphin?*
The characters are tricksters who use their power over love to create chaos and hilarity in the worlds they visit.
Oberon: You know, all of this could have been avoided if Juliet was in love with Paris instead.
Puck: I've already dabbed their eyes, sir!
Sort of a middle ground between the last two, and a bit closer to the original play. In this scenario the fairies simply wish to fix all the characters problems by using love potion.
Or we can use some sort of combination of these three ideas.
But no story is good without conflict, and this will be the same. For it won't just be wish fulfillment without consequences. Every change the fairies make to a work will cause something else to go wrong, as if the reality knows it is altered and is screaming in pain. The characters in the work will have to deal with these, and the fairies, to some extent.
Or they can just hop to the next world and start anew.
XD I love the things you make Oberon and Puck say! Very funny!
I was thinking, would you want to do a Midsummer Nights Dream based rp? I have an idea for it, if you are interested. Pm me if you are.
Okay, so I now have a BLACK LIST. If you some how get on my Black List I will refuse to speak to you, rp with you, and you will not be allowed to join any group rps I make in the future. Here are some things you can do to get on my black list:
-Drop out of a rp without telling me
-Say you are too busy to have a rp with me, yet post a Roleplays Wanted thread.(just tell me if you friggin don't want to rp with me, otherwise I get seriously pissed off and spam you until you do.)
-Say something rude to me.
-Cuss too much(like ever other sentence)
-Continue to do something when I tell you not to.
-Or just plan out piss me off.
I love Shakespeare and his works. PM me if you think you can deal with that ;P
