I shall blame myself for the inactivity in this thread, what with being gone for a couple days.

    But, still...

Come on! Lets get some discussion and votes in! Tell me, especially, about entry #2 and #3. Your thoughts on these? Like I already said, #3 would have gotten my vote if I was allowed to vote. The image for #2 felt a bit... Pokemon for my tastes. The image is really cool, but I have trouble getting into the story in conjunction with said image. I'm not sure I can explain it, exactly. It's like there's a strange distance between me (the reader) and the narrator after looking at the picture. I was expecting one thing, and got another.

Is it just me, or does it feel like people were given too much time to vote, and not enough time to actually make an entry?

I dunno, I'm still new to this, so I'm not sure if that's how it always goes, but...

If we went by actual activity. We'd have the creation process at a month's length and the voting process would be about 3 days.

I realize that was sort of a joke but quite honestly I think that would work a lot better... a bit exaggerated, but still, there should be more time to submit entries... It takes a lot more time to put together a quality piece of work and send it in than it does to look them all over and pick the one you like the best.

Seems to me that most everyone who wanted to vote got their votes in within the first couple days, anyway. Maybe a week to include the ones who voted a bit later.

I think 5 days would be enough for voting. (Though admittedly, we do get a lot of last minute votes)

If it were up to me, it would be a regular monthly schedule. Every month, the "submissions" thread opens up on the first, and the "Voting" thread goes up on the 21st. Maybe put out the "Theme" for the following month a few days early, like, the 25th or so. And then just *always* do it on *exactly* those dates, every time. That would give you five days to think, twenty days to create, and ten to read, think, vote, and comment. Also I'd give the writers an option to declare their piece, starting on, like, the 27th or 28th or something -- a few days just in case anyone wants to be non-anonymous (which is a fun hyphenated word to say) and say something on their own behalf before the voting is finished, but AFTER the bulk of the voting has already happened.

    But that's me.

I guess we can make it so I have to look at RPGuild less. O.o? I'm not sure I'd do it as specific days. More like "The first Monday" is when Guidelines go up and "The Third Monday" is when the vote threads go up, for 7 days. There might be some cross over but it's a bit easier that way.

Gonna put a pretty hard "No" on any non-anonymous stuff. After vote y'all can derail the threads all you like.

Either way that requires me and Brovo sitting down and talking things out. It's easy to keep the status quo but with enough voices We are obviously willing to make changes to WOTM as a whole. Voices will be the only thing to encourage us, because we're gonna let it go as is.

My opinion is that 2 weeks for the works is too much... and upping it any further is flat out stupid when most people miss the deadlines due to self admitted procrastination. Got no problem with lowing the time people get to vote... but this time around was a combo deal. All managers decided to stick with the normal 2 weeks. WOTM will go to 1 week and probably stick with that from here on out.

I feel the need to point out that the reason why everyone was having trouble getting their entries in this time around was not merely due to procrastination- some of us actually have lives outside the Guild and with a hectic schedule it can be hard to find time to do things.

I see no reason why people can't be given more time to work on entries if we don't need as much time to vote...

The only people who offered valid reasons for maybe missing the deadlines this time around managed to HIT the deadlines anyway?

But I'm not arguing this. Period. This isn't the place nor will doing so get anyone anywhere.

So, back to the point of this thread: I want people's opinions of Entry 2 and Entry 3.
