Warhammer 40K ~ A Battle Proposal!!!

Greetings fellow players,

I am well aware that I am about as well-known as the next Joe Blow trying to make a name for himself but if you'd be so kind as to bear with me I think this may be worth your time.

As some of you may know, Warhammer 40K is a table top role playing game centered around the battles between anywhere from 2-4 players on regular basis. There are quite a few armies from the Imperium of man and the Space Marines that defend them to the aliens of Tyranids and the oldest beings of existence the Eldar.

In this particular scenario, a new being has formed amongst the Warp exploiting the powers swirling deep within the eye of chaos to interupt the lives of eight individuals. Yes, I said I am looking for eight individuals. These eight individuals will have been magically summoned and transported to a new location to fight one another seemingly for the entertainment no one in particular fueled by the knowledge that by winning they will recieve great power. None of the players willingly chose to go but after learning of their reward each can discern one reason or another why they would want to win. Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be an all out brawl - you as the players can decide how it goes.

I have made some notes as to how this will work out using the stats and troops from the games Codices but it will obviously require some skill and finesse to participate legitimately.

So that is my idea, what do we think? Take it or shove it up my ass?

Remember, one does not simply walk away from this idea unintrigued!

I am intrigued, never got to play the table top game but i liked the video games and overall "universe" /setting of warhammer 40k.

I am interested as well, many of WH40K fans though have never actually played the tabletop game, just read the books and played the video games.

I don't want to sound like a dick but I'm going to anyway. If you haven't participated in the tabletop strategy game and fully experienced the game as a hobby you are not a true fan.

But if this gets a more support I may go ahead and make the ooc to get people rolling.

Have you looked at the Inquisitor Rules set?

(full disclosure, I'm a massive =][= fan, competed in multiple GT's and got my rules published in Fanatic member of the longest running Inquisitor Forum on the web).

It might at least provide guidelines for what you want, thought Inquisitor is very much a tabletop miniture game, it has stats and guidelines for characters (although the ones in the rule can be iffy, there's some really good articles on better guidelines).

I'm a little over commited though right now, so while I'm interested, I won't be able to play.

I'm interested.

Typically I play Iron Hands or my own Scout heavy Chapter from the early days when I couldn't afford as many Marines...

However I could be convinced to play a Necron, 'Nid or Tau. Might be able to sell ne on an Ork - but it seems like writing that dialogue would be tiresome. Can't do Eldar, they're just too ... angsty? And I have zero interest in a Guardsman who's NOT a Penal Legionaire.
