People in general want to feel superior over other people.
Not sure if you meant to use "your" or "you're"?

Agnosticism is a demonstrably weaker position than gnosticism though. A, it relies on the truth of a negative (there is no such thing as proof), which means it's impossible that you'll ever be proven right. B, gnostics can never really be proven wrong (even if no proof is known, that doesn't mean there is no proof). C, should proof suddenly appear, agnostics would be proven wrong and Gnostics right; vice, if proof should suddenly NOT appear, there would be no change to status quo.

In a way it's similar to asking people if they believe in aliens. The smarter answer is obviously YES, you do believe in aliens, because if you say that you're never wrong.

What's even better is that you can prove aliens exist - you can even become one!

I just have to drive a few hundred miles south, and pow, I'm an alien in México!

What is the difference between a claim and a belief besides connotation?

Claim n- An assertion of the truth of something, typically one that is disputed or in doubt.
Belief n- An opinion or conviction

oh and also you're wrong because you don't believe in what I do and I'm an objectively correct source of morality
Exactly what I said in my post.
It's not that yours is wrong. It's just not entirely correct.

"Believe it can't be proven" entails that you do not believe in any evidence, period.

"Does not claim there's evidence" means that it can also mean that you do not believe that there's any known evidence. Your explanation excludes that.

And this is the reason why sora's point needs to be corrected. Because it makes it seem that all agnostics hold on the stance that it cannot be proven. While the most common form of agnosticism is that it simply cannot be proven as of now. Besides i don't really believe there's exactly a strong agnosticism front, as it's basically a big "I 'unno", so if proof was to be shown either way. I'm not sure the agnostics would be so worried about the agnostic element being proving wrong, they'd be more concerned whether the evidence for or against the existence of a god agreed with what end on the athiest/theist scale they more strongly fell towards.
