A very aged man, superficially in his 60s. in a very worn trenchcoat and a 5-foot long sword sheath on his back, with a medium-sized, thick, very dark red beard with bits of gray in it. There are a few tiny braided strands that are beaded. His legs are normally covered in dark pants, and his feet have a pair of tough leather boots. The hair on his head is long, almost hippie-like, of the same coloration as his beard. He has an extremely muscular physique that is always hidden underneath his coat. Ice Blue, distant eyes.

>Incredible strength: Can lift up to 7 tons without much effort, 15 is his absolute maximum; can rip strong wood and, with effort, sheets of steel and stone apart.

>Skill in many, many sorts of magic, from the traditional illusion-crafting and elemental magic to obscure shamanistic rituals. However, in most of his magicks, due to studying so much and not on a specific one, he is not a very advanced user. Jack of all trades, master of none.

>Skill in the mundane, as well. He's been a swordsman for many, many decades, making his skill level absurd. This applies to many things: shooting, fisticuffs, martial arts... and let's not forget the non combat skills in machinery, chemistry, physics, oration, electronics and beyond.

>Extreme endurance. He has superhuman resistance to Cold, Heat, Poisoning, Impact, Pressure and apparently has skin tough enough that most blades have to try a tiny bit harder to get through it (bullets have no problem at all, though). And of course, aging does not make him grow weak. He has the brain and physique of someone in their prime of life. Hell, He's centuries old and can kill a shark with his bare hands.

>From meditation practice, he lives completely in the moment, with his mind uncluttered. This gives him amazing reflexes, quick-thinking abilities, heightened senses, and is always aware of everything around him; hard to distract.

You learn a lot of stuff when you're around for two centuries.

>His trenchcoat is made of woolen cloth on the outside and some sort of hard, nigh-bulletproof (and yet not too heavy) material as an inner lining.

>The trenchcoat also contains most of his things. It has an uncountable amount of pockets, containing all manner of weapons, tools and gadgets, ranging from a mace to a revolver to a swiss army knife to a sprocket. Among them is his most treasured weapon the Maschinesabel. Carried on his back in a huge sheath, It is a 5-foot long sword, with an amazingly sharp and durable blade that looks like tarnished silver, but in reality it is some unknown metal. The hilt is adorned with unpolished ruby, agate and Black Pearl.

His father, a university professor (who eventually had his tenure revoked and was fired), introduced the young Johannes to many of the arcane concepts that fill his life today. His Father's connections in Academia exposed Johannes to the world of mechanics, machinery, mysticism and more.
One day, when he was a teen, his family's home was destroyed by an arsonist. Johannes himself was a long ways away at the time, so he was the only member of his family left alive. He had to start anew, work himself up from the ruins. He was a vagrant for a while, and then he started using the skills and connections that his father had given him. He ended up with some subsistence, but he wasn't satisfied. He preferred vagrancy, and put this to use in gathering all the knowledge he can about the world. Over the years, through a combination of magic, hard work and spiritual practice, he attained the powers that he now has. In his 60s, he discovered how to be unaffected by age, but hasn't told anyone else how it works.
(Years later he tracked down the arsonist and killed him with his bare hands)

In regular life, he acts genteel and is generally accepting and willing to work with people, albeit aloof. You always get the sense that he knows something you don't when around him. He can act quiet when needed, act normal when needed, or promulgate intensely when needed, and he'll gladly do all of them in one spot.
On the inside, he is truly a man with Three personalities--The Warrior, the Sage and the Scientist. The Warrior is on a never-ending quest for intense personal combat; at the best, it is valour, and at the worst, nihilistic bloodlust. The Sage is the part that endlessly seeks wisdom and knowledge. The Scientist wants to investigate the inner workings of the world, manipulate them, and create grand new things with what he sees in the world. Hence, He roams the world, to sate each aspect - to learn all he can about arts mystical and mundane, and to find a good fight. Sometimes his mood can swing rapidly from one to another, going from analytical to extraordinarily violent in the space of an hour.

Ven
Appearance: Ven is a 7' animate scarecrow, with an eternally blazing Jack-o'-Lantern for a head and a body stuffed with fibrous white asbestos. His asbestos insides are encased by a long-sleeved olive-green shirt, rough burlap pants, and rough brown leather work gloves on his hands. Dirty, yet sturdy, old farmer's boots act as his feet. Despite this odd structure, his manner is not at all awkward or impaired. He consistently wears a very wide-brimmed straw hat, A little bit tattered and with some burn marks. A worn brown leather belt hangs at his waist, and hanging from that are usually his crowbar. His form is kept by a crude skeleton of wooden wicker support rods running through his back and limbs, with an especially thick one sprouting out of his shirt's head hole to support his pumpkinhead. These "bones" are unexpectedly stronger than your average wicker rod, despite their skinniness.

Born: unknown; probably 19th-20th century.
He was created and animated by a mad sorcerer/alchemist/overall weird person called Rain. He was made for the purpose of a personal army. Like a true mad scientist, he wasn't really sure what he'd do with the army, but he was hellbent on creating it. Rain built an army of homunculi so strange that surprise would be one of their most effective weapons. The army was also made strange because the sorcerer built all the soldiers out of whatever materials he could scavenge or steal. Ven was made after Rain stole a scarecrow and a Jack-o'-Lantern from a farmer and a ****load of asbestos from a construction site, and enchanted the candle flame to give the scarecrow life, making it the source of his consciousness and soul. He named this creation Vengeance of the Fields, because he thought it sounded cool and awe-inspiring. He took a liking to Vengeance and made him "captain" of one of his "troops", and granted him with a great array of abilities.
Vengeance, meanwhile, had developed a very cynical attitude towards all this, and began to see his creator as complete BS. He cause a "lab accident" that killed Rain and the rest of his creation. Since then he has been roaming freely, an agent of mischief and overall chaos. He shortened his name to Ven in this time period, because he really dislikes all that pretentious stuff about names that try to be menacing.

Abilities:
As a being animated by enchanted fire, he can manipulate his inner fire just as a human could manipulate ki. He can breathe fire, shoot fireballs from his hands, whatever.

His "skeleton", as well as the rest of his body, has regenerative capabilities ("healing factor", as some would say). Most injuries to his "bones" regenerate within a minute if the process is undisturbed.

He can run up to and slightly over 100 miles an hour and make vertical jumps of over 50 feet. his reaction time is nearly immediate.

Due to his asbestos body and pyromantic soul, he is totally immune to fire and heat-related attacks.

Equipment:
An enchanted scythe that lets the holder manipulate plant life (including moving, accelerating the growth of, etc.) in a 1-mile radius. Think Swamp Thing. He rarely uses its power, though; He doesn't relish an easy fight. Other than that, it looks like a perfectly normal 4.5 foot long scythe, except that the blade is a mysterious dark green metal. It glows when its power is being used.

A good ol' rusty crowbar. It's decent for close combat, as Ven does not have much physical prowess to speak of.

Personality:
Ven enjoys causing trouble ranging from light mischief to murderous chaos. These acts are always harmful and accompanied by his distinctive, bizarre and terrifying cackle. Despite his humorous means, Ven can act quite cynical at time and takes absolutely no BS, pretension or arrogance from anyone. Like a combination of Natsu (from Fairy Tail) and the Joker.
