On the One
Just gonna throw some plot ideas out here, to get the collective creative juices flowing, like a warm up or something like that. The ideas are very loose and general.
The first idea I thought of involves something of great importance being taken/stolen from a certain Kingdom or country. The Ruler of the nation in question would then petition a handful of pirate captains to retrieve the item stolen, promising a substantial monetary reward, and a title of Nobility/a high position in the Nation's Navy, to whichever crew can successfully retrieve the stolen item. The item in question could be anything from an important national treasure, the Ruler's son/daughter or perhaps an encrypted manuscript detailing crucial Military secrets.
The 2nd idea I thought of involves a rumored treasure hoard of a long lost Civilization. The "treasure hoard" in question could be gold and jewels, or a cache of books/scrolls/manuscripts containing highly advanced knowledge. Haven't really elaborated on this idea very much.
Trust me I'm a doctor
I love this idea!!
Is the position of first mate or ship's doctor open? I could fill in either one ^-^
The point is, who will stop me?
Stolen item being a person? Maybe there is a power struggle of some sorts where the crown has recently been vacated and while transporting a sequestered Duchess who is now the only remaining blood heir, someone kidnaps her and she's the stolen item. This would allow for more than just an item of wealth - but a person who's return to the country in question means the continuation of a dynasty. Then maybe one of the ships is sent by a rival family who will gain the throne if the Duchess is killed or somehow unable to claim her place on the throne?
I'd like to place the Duchess, if you want to do that sort of idea, spinning off what El Noche suggested. I picked a duchess rather than a princess because a duchess wasn't raised as a royal, so she's been just a slightly wealthier "commoner" since she was a more distant niece and when the royals deplete the country's finances...distant relatives basically only have their rank left. That's what she would be - rather unprepared for the role of Queen. Just throwing an idea out there.
Lord-High Everything Else
I like it!
I'm very willing to be a captain with a bloodthirsty veneer. Or if we don't have enough players for that, a crew member of some description.
I'll throw my hat in too, this is a pretty cool idea.
Quantum State: Unknown
Gangway, ye bilge-sucking landlubbers, I got me some booty to take care of! Stop dancing with Jack Ketch and raise that Jolly Roger. This here lass be showing ye how to sail the seas. We gon' pillage towns and take their swag - We'll give 'em no quarter. And all ye scurvy dogs who disagree will kiss the gunner's daughter!
I'm moderately interested, indeed.
Wow, so much interest! :O.
Victoria, sure, you can be any role on the ship you want .
I like the idea of the ships searching for a kidnapped person, expanding from Noches idea to said person being a Duchess, the only heir to the throne (as contributed by Egyptian).
Here's a summary for a plot that I think I've decided will be chosen for the Roleplay:
Due to an unknown illness sweeping throughout the palace of the kingdom, the entierity of the close royal family and the heirs to the throne died. It was called upon that a young Duchess, who lived some miles away in another kingdom, be brought to the palace as she is now eligible and the last in line to the throne.
However, while she is being transported to the kingdom, her ship is attacked and she is kidnapped by a group of pirates. The pirates are being payed by another kingdoms royal family to keep her out of sight and lead the world to believe she is dead. When she is offically pronounced lost at sea, the other kingdoms royal family will be able to move in and take the throne, thus allowing them to gain control of the country and all of it's resources.
At another end of the kingdom, an infamous Pirate Captain (Me ^^) is under trial and is about to be hanged for countless crimes of piracy, murder, and theft. However, because of his skills at sea, he is given the chance to earn His freedom by taking his crew and investigating the disapearance of the Duchess. If he is able to return the Duchess before her coronation as Queen (One month from the start of the RP) he will be rewarded with his life. If he does not return with her, he will be sent to the gallows. If the Duchess isn't returned in time for her coronation, then the other royal family will come in to power.
As the plot progresses I will throw in some twists and turns etc, for example the realization that the other kingdoms royal family poisoned the entire royal family in this kingdom in order to take control.
So, there will be two Ships that you can Roleplay on.
Muttonhawk's Ship - The one holding the Duchess and running from the others.
My Ship - The one sent to investigate the disapearance of the Duchess and
bring her back before the coronation.
Pick whichever you like the sound of best - Mutton, I'll need you to create a Ship CS asap so people know what the ship they are RPing on will be like.
Just a small note as well, if it ends up like, 4 people on one ship and 2 on the other, things will have to change and somebody will have to move to another ship to keep things even . I will get the OOC up soon. Anybody else still feel like joining? Don't be afraid to show your interest, the more the merrier!

I saw, prehaps he's only putting on his bloodthirsty disguse because of the loss of a love one, and he's only kidnapping the Duchess to get money to help a loved one, or something along those lines .

I've got a couple of ideas, but I need your consultation, Scar.
The first ship I had in mind was a small, single-masted sloop with 12 guns, a fast sailing speed and 60 crew. This would be more common for pirates and has a lower profile but has to run away from proper warships unless it goes Leeroy Jenkins and goes for the melee before the enemy can get a shot off.
The second ship I'm considering is a three-masted frigate with 22 guns and 112 crew. Slightly slower but still maneuverable. Can hold its own in a naval engagement. Unfortunately this is a little less believable unless my character was a deserter from a navy, under which conditions the authorities would definitely invest more time and resources into hunting him and his dangerous ship.
Personally, I'm leaning towards the sloop because it would be better suited to keep a low profile while carrying a hostage, but I don't want to either be ridiculously out gunned by you or be able to just slip away from you without a trace every time our ships see each other. At the moment its depending on what you had in mind for your ship.
EDIT: just got your visitor message. Better to PM me next time, then I get a popup. CS coming your way.
