    Dystopian Lighting

Notes: This RP is set in the same universe as Alpha Contact Project's. And thus, the events of both RPs may affect each other (even though the actions are set in absolutely different places and are in different genres). This is my own expirement, and I really wish it to start off well.

Also, wall of text, if you wish to get the general idea before reading fully, start off with last paragraph. But I really hope you will read it all.

    In short:

RP about life in a Dystopian cyberpunk city (Moscow), as characters that are not brainwashed. Some of those got the plan to stop the AI reign over the whole world and thus they've started some kind of hidden rebellion. As with Alpha Contact Project, it's robot and furry friendly (sorta, if you accept werebeasts).

    In long:

Somewhere in the future, technology made great advances in numerious sciences. Cybernetics, biology and astrophysics were very popular. What can I say, people managed to get an expedition to planet called Vita somewhere around then, but the result of this would be unknown to them. Revolutions appeared in some countries. Some of them were supressed violently, but some, unfortunately, weren't. Some European countries fell under the revolution movement and had their goverments changed. A party that is propaganding hivemind like lifestyle, mass cybernisation AND communism recieved surprisingly well organised support. When those parties came to the control over countries, they've formed the Alliance, that couldn't stay there without pissing off big countries like Russia, China and USA. Alliance started modifying every citizen in their country - even those who were not willing - into a cyborg with a hivemind capacity. Even though this may sound cruel, don't think about that absolutely negatively. The hivemind features increased capacities of regular human incredibly, their moral qualities rose, and this was at the cost of constant command broadcast in head, slight headaches when people of Alliance were thinking about something important and required lots of calculating power and a small chance of one hacker/AI taking over the whole system. Alliance created the best invention in the world, but their means of delivering it to humanity was very wrong: by force.

Meanwhile, four countries formed another organised party: the Union. It had Russia, Great Britain, China and USA, and the Union started officially confronting Alliance. After some time the Alliance threw out the Ultimatum and forced the people to hide in nuclear hideouts. As expected, Union layed waste to the Europe and after some time of peace and silence, heavily modified soldiers of Alliance moved out of nuclear bunkers and started capturing territories around them, using help of their own changed abilities and control over battle robot squads working with them. Incredible military force didn't meet much resistance in European countries weakened by the nuclear warfare, but Union countries were giving Alliance a great fight, even though the territories were lost quickly. Union started evacuation projects and was building an AI with personality of deceased actor. As evacuation was going on, the AI source code leaked into hands of Alliance scientists. After lots of changes and improvements, scientists launched the AI. The AI that named itself Jotok went insane - the program had a lot of bugs and gliches. Jotok captured each Alliance computer and branwashed every Alliance citizen and soldier, and tried to build Dystopia (AntiUtopia) from books that it managed to read. Fortunately, Jotok was insane enough to create another AI, and that AI that named itself Alstein disabled Jotok and started it's own way of rebuilding Earth population, giving them some sort of freedom from direct control, but having their thoughts slowed down by Mist. In this time, Union forces were scarce, fighting somewhere in big cities, but mostly loosing and then, finally disappearing.

The technologies developed slowly after the launch of Alpha Contact Project. The scientists managed to create an AI that I've mentioned before, they upgraded computers and cybernetic technologies, were able to produce limbs and NCI for Theriantropes. NCIs also got an expiremental function - direct stimulation of certain brain sectors and causing druglike happines in result, but those were outlawed. Those NCIs were called DNCIs, and were popular among low class drug addicts in Dystopia in the time of Mist. Human cloning facilities were researched and even got blueprints for that. Union hid on Venus and Mars and their technologies are still mystery.

Meanwhile, Alstein was in need to recreate human mind. Failing to recieve Union citizens, it decided to capture the scientists that were sent on Vita, but failed due to enviromental rage: the servers of Alstein were heavily damaged by flood and earthquake. The humans were free from Mist, but this didn't help them much - the control over Dystopia was taken by Hugo Stockmann, charismatic yet cruel dictator that wished only one thing - incredible happines. Some time later the restricted DNCI was installed in the body of Hugo, and he went into lifelong extatic state. Actually, he was killed by his opponents, but that doesn't matter. After five years of his reign, and then thirty more years of anarchy scientists of Dystopia found and repaired servers of Alstein, that went back online and returned the Mist.

Due to heavy damage to servers though, Alstien went insane. Pragmatic planning became much rarer. Alstein recieved insane, mad and dumb thoughts that sometimes went live. Jotok's influence suddenly started to come in too - the Dystopia became less of machine and more like a world from books. But in the times when the Mist was dropped, some people in Moscow (and other cities we won't be roleplaying in) saved themselves from the new Mist. Those people had different targets, but all of them were hating the AI - they wanted their world to return into normal state. At this point, the Mistwalkers (they called themselves so, among their own kind) realised the weakness of Alstein. He was insane, but they knew no reason for it. Those people wanted to investigate it and stop the brainwashing. And they are those who you will be roleplaying as.

Nice, waiting some time or more people before getting OOC. Any questions on RP by the way?

Actually, I have a question. How influential will the two RPs be with the other one?

It actually depends on some factors.

Both of those RPs should be at least somewhat alive, and Alpha project got only 2 people interested. But I hope I'll make it (this leads me to the thought about doing one OOC for both of those threads, but I am not sure about that.)

Usually, the influence would be minimal - the Earth (Dystopian Lighting's planet) and Vita (Alpha Contact's planet) are extremelly far away from each other, and it would require a lot of time to reach them physically. However, the fleet of Alstein might be built and sent to Vita, and Vita scientists may try to send the signal to try to find out what happens on Earth - the scientists would find out that singal from Earth went dead at 2100 year.

But this mostly depends if an event is ending a chapter I think, because important ones happen only there. Say, scientists found out about situation on earth and they befriend the aliens and use their magical teleporting techniques to get to earth and find out everything by themselves. Or, Mistwalkers somehow manage to destroy the server when the Alstein's fleet is already attacking scientists on Vita, thus stopping it.

In short, it depends on importance of event. But the more RPs move forward, higher chances of collision between both.
