Personality:
He is calm, quiet and extremely polite and formal when talking to people. He might even come off as arrogant, but he is merely shy. He's rather awkward around strangers and he never seemed to have mastered the social niceties usually required to interact with others. He loves reading and can often be found with his nose buried in a book. Due to his calm nature he's not easy to anger, but once angry he is capable of holding a grudge for a long time. When his curiosity has been aroused, as well, he can become relentless until it's sated. Because of his rather passive personality he doesn't have many friends, and has turned to his pokemon for companionship. He adores them and despite driving them hard he cares deeply for them. Because he used to be teased as a kid he is not inclined trust others, yet he can be very loyal if his friendship is earned.

History / Biography:
He was born to a couple dedicated to science and investigation. From them he inherited both his curiosity and his love of reading. His parents were affectionate and clearly loved him, despite not being around often, due to their constant travels. His awkwardness around people is mostly a consequence of his lack of human interaction. Both his mother and father tended to dote on him to make up for the lack of presence in his life. One of such gifts was an egg from which a shiny Eevee was born. She became his first constant companion and both of them could be found walking around the city together.

He obtained his Trainer's license when he was eleven, two years after he received his first pokemon from his parents. Just after a few weeks on the road he came to the realization that he loved to travel. This made him understand his parents a little bit more. At his age he has visited almost every region, and has a rather good sense of direction. It wasn't until Danae, his eevee, evolved that he realized he just might have an affinity to the Dark type, considering how easy it was for him to come across pokemon of that particular type.

He recently returned to Johto in order to visit his parents after almost a year of not seeing them. They were overjoyed to see him and gave him an egg that his father had obtained from a breeder in Unova, along with a strange letter adressed to him that had just come in the mail. It was because of this letter that he cut his visit short, hoping to protect his parents from whatever that was going on. He had half a mind to simply disappear, but his curiosity got the better of him.

Special Abilities / Traits/ Attributes:
He's extremely good at forming strategies on the fly and is capable of staying calm even under severe pressure.
He has a strange condition that prevents him from feeling pain, which can lead to troublesome situations because he doesn't notice when he has been hurt.
He's actually physically stronger than he looks.

Other:
He's not aware that his telepathic connection to his pokemon is special. He believes all trainers posses this capability.
When he is reading he doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings.

Personality:
Marcus is a very calm and well centered person, but this is probably because most of the time it looks like there's nothing going on inside of his head. He usually just stares off into space. He rarely speaks, and when he does it's usually nonsense to most people. Well, that's what most people think, at least. Really, he's saying something relevant but very indirectly. Despite his very disconnected demeanor, Marcus is actually well versed in hand to hand combat, and can hold his own in a fight.

History / Biography:
Marcus was born and raised in Driftveil. His mother and father, who both worked in the cold storage, raised him with love and care. But despite their affection, Marcus never seemed to show any kind of reaction to them. He would always just take their words and not respond. Even as a baby, he rarely cried. As he got older, his parents feared he was growing distant from them, but never once did he attack them, so they were unsure. In truth, Marcus really did love them. He just wasn't very vocal. The only time eh ever showed any kind of emotion was when he was around a Pokemon. He seemed to transform then, from a cold husk into the bright, bubbly child he was supposed to be. His parents got a Snorunt for him when he was eight, but after a few days he grew quiet and distant again. But the Snorunt seemed to only grow closer to him, for some reason. Eventually, his mother and Father were promoted enough to afford to send him on his own life journey. He left home two years ago, and has been traveling ever since. He found an Eevee and evolved it in the mountains shortly after he left home, and found a Dawn Stone for his Snorunt a year ago.

Special Abilities / Traits/ Attributes:
Marcus has a 'freezing aura' around him that keeps him constantly cold. Any one standing near him will feel this chilling effect, though they would have to be a few inches from him to feel any uncomfortable cold. this field of coolness has a range of five feet. It has kept him from dying of Dehydration in the desert and conditioned his body so that he feels no cold. Because of this, he constantly has foggy breath.
