The government funds public schools where young minds receive the education that they need in order to pass the standard tests. Private schools are paid for by parents/guardians and the young minds receive the best education that their parents/guardians money can buy.

Welcome to Meta High. An exclusive government funded high school were young minds from all around the country are brought and taught not only the best education tax payers' dollars can buy, but also where young minds are also trained to develop their psychic abilities that will hopefully be used in the government's favor; whether it be military or politics. Dorms are provided and teachers are constantly on campus and ready to sedate/capture and reprimand any students who are caught acting out. If a student acts out too much or wants to leave the school then they leave, but are never heard from again.

On the surface, it's just an exclusive government funded school, but behind closed doors teens are taught to use their unique gifts for the advancement of their government. Is it a school or a prison?


Why have a high school? Because when children are young it is easiest to teach them things and reinforce the things you want, but when the child goes through puberty that's when the brain 'rewires' itself and many things are lots, while many things are also gained. As a teen the body is full of hormones and changes and if the right things are reinforced then the person will have the things learned stick with them even when they're an adult. So take a bunch of psychic teenagers and train them with their abilities and they shall have them when they're adults and are able to now assist the government however the government sees fit. Military, interigation, polotics, governemnt research? Any of these categories and possibly more
Each person is forced to wear the school uniform and each person has a patch on their uniform that represents which main power they have (for each person's power I'll let them decide what the patch looks like)

So...time for the rules (DUN DUN DUN!!!)
Rules
1. No Godmoding!
2. You're supposed to be a teen who is being taught more about their power and how to control/enhance it, keep that in mind.
3. Feel free to swear but don't over do it. I don't want 3 paragraphs of the f word and then only one paragraph of roleplay.
4. You are allowed 2 powers, no more. The first power is the one that you're best with and use the most and are getting training in. The second one is less developed and less controled, so feel free to have it as a powerful power, but just remember that you can't control it/ use it as well or easily as the first one.
5. Just for fun, somewhere in your post with your character sheet (in order for me to know that you actually read the rules) have the word jacuzzi. It can even just be placed at the bottom, just so long as it's there.
6. No having the same main powers. You can have the same secondary powers, or have a secondary power that is someone else's main power, but I don't want a bunch of telepathic people all getting training, it gets a bit dull.
7. Have fun, remember the rules and that the teachers are able to sedate/capture you

P.S. Students are recruted at all ages of high school, a sophmore age teen can be at his first year at the school. He'd be put into sophmore level for the regular classes, but for training classes he'd be put into beginer classes and probably forced to take extra training classes to get him up to the level of the other sophmores.

Name: Anastasia Petrova
Appearance:
Assecories: Fairly large sketchpad, art supplies, small little sewing kit, two large water bottles, notebook, and small first aid kit.

Age: 15
Personality: Anastasia can be somewhat socially awkward when meeting new people or when stuck in an environment, but once she's gotten used to the person or environment she becomes more sociable. Anastasia is a rather kind and caring person. She is able to contain her anger for quite a long time, but once in a while her anger take control. Anastasia seems rather trusting but she's usually able to see through someone's façade rather easily. She doesn't take a lot of things seriously, but depending on the situation, that changes. Anastasia is a person you can talk to about about your problems, feelings, etc. and most of the time she'll try to help you with them and she'll comfort you if you need it. She is seen as quite motherly really (funny since she still looks like a child a bit)
Anastasia is very supportive. She usually urges people to try and reach their goals. She feels like you might be wasting your life chasing a dream that someone else is making you do because they weren't able to accomplish said dream. Anastasia is known to be frightened rather easily ( by things like the paranormal ). She can be very protective over specific people such as family and friends
Bio: Anastasia ,sometimes called Anya, was born out of wedlock. Her Mother was a normal woman running a well-liked flower shop, while her father was the son of a major food corporation that created and sold countless of different ingredients to restaurants, bakeries, and groceries stores in the world. Her father's family members did not like Anastasia much and thought the birth of an illegitimate child would shame their company's name so they hid her from the world. She and her birth mother were kept at her father's second house ,that was not to far from his main one. The house was in a secluded area where only her family members could enter. She was tutored and showed more promise than any of her father's previous children and a couple her aunt's and uncle's children.
While playing around in the jacuzzi, she discovered some of her power. She was only ten years old and was messing around, acting like she could control the water. Anastasia started to notice that the water would actually move whenever she acted like she was controlling it. She found herself controlling the water. Anastasia was only able to do small things like creating small waves though and maybe small little whirl pools, but nonetheless it excited her. She showed her mother ,who was surprisingly calm and sort of happy when she learned of Anastasia's ability.
She liked the Hydrokenisis ability, but her second one ,which she discovered at the age of fourteen, not so much. While her ,somewhat stuck up, cousins came to visit she discovered her Illusion Manipulation ability. Actually this ability was triggered out of anger. Her cousins were messing with her, teasing her, and made remarks about her illegitimacy . They always did this, but she finally had it this time. She found herself creating an Illusion that terrified her cousins. Anastasia stopped it once her cousins had passed out. She didn't like that one bit, but whenever she found herself angered she would use it. Despite her father's family member's disapproval, her parents had her sent to Meta High a couple of weeks after that incident.
Now it's the present. Actually she's only been at the school for a couple of weeks and has just turned fifteen. She hasn't really talked to many people but is starting to get used to the environment so it won't be long before she starts acting like her normal self.

Name: Alejo "Alex" Gonzalez

Appearance:

Assecories: He usually wears a skull ring on his left middle finger that reads "Love Kills Slowly."

Age: 16

Personality: To put it simply, Alejo comes off as a bit of a pervert. Whether this is who he really is or just something that came with the hormonal imbalance of puberty still remains to be seen, but don't be surprised if you're looking through his bookbag for whatever reason and find at least two copies of Playboy. Despite this, he's an all-around okay guy to be with. Quick with a joke and willing to put a smile on your face, it's his good qualities that seem to outweigh his "excitable" attitude.

On another note, Alejo has also been known for his short fuse. All it would take is one simple press of his button - those of which he has a lot, by the way - and he would fly off the handle in a blind rage. Sometimes, he would only yell in his offender's face, and other's he would beat them to a pulp. It didn't matter what anger management classes he took or which therapists he sought; his short fuse was what overshadowed his actual academic career.

Bio: Alejo never lived an exciting life. Pretty much each and every day of his life followed the same routine: wake up, go to school, hang out with friends, come home, eat, bathe, and sleep. As such, he craved changed, and when the winds of change came, he would savor every waking moment of it. Whenever his family moved, he was always cheer for that fact first before mourning the fact that he would leave his friends.

Despite the occasional moves, Alejo would find no real joy in life except when he hangs out and does something new with his friends. Still, imagine the shock when he woke up and found one of his fingers on fire. At first, the simple fact that he had somehow caught on fire scared him shitless (wouldn't it scare you if you were only twelve years old?), but after a while, he thought it to be the coolest thing on Earth. He never shared it with his friends, though; no, this was going to be his secret, and he was going to make sure that it would be a secret.

Of course, it didn't remain a secret for long. When he was in school a year after his discovery of pyrokinesis, he was soon taunted by one of the many bullies at his middle school. If he didn't have the short fuse, he would've let the insults roll off his back, but no; he decided to give the bully a piece of his mind. Normally, the bullies would take it as a challenge - one that they knew they would win - but this time, Alejo noticed that he looked like he was about to crap himself.

That was when the flames blazing on his shoulders set off the fire alarm...

Because of the incident and several similar ones in the future, Alejo and his family had to move more often than usual any time Alejo's anger got the better of him. The costs of moving around so much took a heavy toll on Alejo's family, and they didn't know exactly what to do. It was during Alejo's summer break after freshman year of high school that he received a letter, stating that he was invited to attend Meta High School.

Power: Pyrokinesis

Name: Marco Wallace

Appearance:

Age: 17

Personality: Marco is a very simple person on the outside, but gets a little more complex when you manage to dig your way through his thick defenses. But no one would ever suspect him of having any deeper emotions, because he never shows it. He allows himself to have "allies" but does not believe in friendship. Aside from this, Marco loves playing pranks like he's ten years younger. If he can get away with an innocent prank, he'll be all for doing it. He's also slightly cocky, though not to the point of being annoying. And finally, he's a flirt. He'll flirt with almost any girl that he talks to, though he has never gone all the way through with it; if they seem interested in him, he tends to stop the communication there.

Bio: Marco was born into Jacuzzi the "normal" family: a mom, dad, and a younger sister. They even had a dog. Throughout his life, nothing drastic has ever happened...and maybe that's the problem. Marco got bored with his life easily as a child and would often run away and pull pranks on anyone he saw until he was caught. This behavior followed him all through his school years and was the main factor in his parents deciding to send him to this new school. It especially helped them out when they discovered he had a "gift." Whenever Marco wanted to get away from a situation, he did; by vanishing. Marco could turn himself invisible for as long a time as he could concentrate on it. Which came in handy quite a few times.

*pokes at Alejog* I thought I reserved pyrokinesis XD Actually I'm not picky =3 There could be someone else with it, I can actually make Pyro my secondary and Umbra My primary. Of course if somebody else picks Umbra by the time i post this imma go ape shit XD nah not really =P but i don't mind sharing.

I'm gonna experiment with something =3 Hopefully It's not over done =P but i'll change it out if it is.


Name: Emilian Desilas Cabrera

Appearance: NOTE: I know the picture is a girl >.> just IGNORE that fact XD I wanted something that fit his size and such and it was the only one i found so far, but i have backups if it's preffered.



Accessories: He wears a ring on each middle finger that looks like it has a dragon's eye in the middle of the ring, The eye is also Blood red and the ring is black.

Age: 14

Personality: Emilian's personality is a bit variable, sometimes he may seem reserved and quiet, other's he may grow excited and loud. No longer being under his parents stifling obsessiveness and rules have allowed him to release many pent up emotions and reactions whenever they become relevant. The main predictable bit of his personality is that He is somewhat reserved about really letting loose with his power, always afraid he might choke someone with the shadows in their own organs again, and he's Really too nice to 'want' to kill someone unless they've done something extreme to deserve it, of course like anyone else he can still loose his temper if the right buttons are pressed. He certainly understands that his powers have destructive potential and while he does see them as incredibly fun, He knows that their not just for fun, and while he is glad to be in a school that will help him gain control of such powers, the atmosphere that seems to promote the fact they have no choice but to be here is inspiring him to plan eventual escape. Otherwise most standard factors of his personality will show best IC rather than in a solid paragraph.



Bio: Del, had always been bored with his life, constantly doted on by his parents who were trying to sculpt him into some genius child they could live their dreams through, and all he wanted to live his life. Early on they discovered he was quite the prodigy in school, whether this was because he really was special, or was just so eager to get school out of the way to move on, seemed to be a moot point. When the school offered him advanced classes that would push him ahead of the other students much faster, he told them not to, but much to his disdain he was much too young to be the one who's opinion mattered in his family, and his parents pushed him into the classes regardless. He was masterful as dismissing the bullies who picked on him for it, and just dealt with the classes, doing the work thrown at him and letting himself be thrown ahead of everyone else, all the while longing for something to make his life more interesting.

That came during his Time in Highschool, which he reached while only 12 thanks to the obsession with advancement from his parents, and the school thanks to donations. He was being chased down by stereotypical bullies who's ego's were injured just from the fact he was in highschool and so young still, they may have been part of a gang he thought, or not, it didn't matter much because he knew he couldn't take them. He found himself face to face with a dead end in one of the dumpster alley's behind the school, and the only thing he could do was duck in the shadows behind one, wishing over and over that he could dissapear. He remembered looking up and seeing them in the alley in plain view from his position, one even looked right at him but they didn't react to him being there, eventually getting pissed and leaving the alley, he didn't understand at first. Then he climbed out of the little shadowed area and looked about, then down at himself, fear for an instant that quickly seeped into shock and then eventually joy, What he saw was the shadows clinging to his body like a gaseous mass that made him seem like a shadow himself, though they quickly faded after he wasn't behind the dumpster anymore.

He was exstatic even after he'd calmed down, 'something' had happened to make his life exciting at last, powers, or a protective demon, or whatever it was, he had no idea but it had him excited. His studies suffered for a little while as he practiced in private, but once he got a grasp of it, or so he thought, he picked things back up and returned to tolerating his parent's demanding natures. He was frequently harassed by bullies still, but everytime they chased him he seemed to just dissapear, and it wasn't until a year later that he decided he was tired of running. It was actually the same group that had first pushed him into hiding, and this time he stood in the middle of the same alley even, he knew it as a nice dark place where whatever he was using seemed the most active, and this time he thought he was ready to scare them off.

He started to focus and drew the shadows to himself, Solid tendrils of black mass slipping out of every dark area in the alley, It felt tiring already but he was satisfied when he saw fear in their eyes within seconds, though they didn't flee, theyjust stopped moving alltogether. It confused him a little, he expected screaming and mercy begging, but they just ceased, then he saw it, black tendrils coming out of their mouths, ears, and even eyes, and choked on his own breath as his focus broke and they fell on the ground unconcious. He hadn't thought about that, there's shadows inside of people too, and he'd nearly killed the boys with their own insides, he didn't stick around for long, doing that without touching the shadows was exhausting and he fled quickly. It scared him shitless too though, He wasn't a killer, he didn't want to be one, he had always imagined he could only kill someone if his life depended on it, and he set about trying to get better control of his powers.

Of course the boys had stories to spread about now, it wasn't so much that people believed the stories, as much as that these boys feared Del now that inspired other bullies to keep off his ass. Of course he didn't realize that it also drew government attention, and for the most part he kept control of everything, until he was about 14 and in his senior year, which he saw as his chance to finally be done with school for a while and have more privacy to practice. He'd actually discovered a little Fire power he had as well, though he was far less willing to practice it in places where anything was flammable, which unfortunately meant that he had no idea how to stop it when he laid eyes on an obvious 'agent' walking through the school. Fear gripped him for a moment, his imagination gone wild with all those Sci fi stories about kids with powers dissapearing to live in labs, and his control snapped for a moment, setting fire to the nearest trashcans before he fled.

Luckily the extinguisher system put the fires out, but he was long gone and home by then. Of course he felt a tremendous fool later with the same agent and a couple more showed up at his house to talk to his parents, who were all too happy to hear about him being invited to a 'special school', which was all they needed to know. When he got it in his head that they weren't there to make him dissapear he was far less twitchy about being near the men, and the explanation they gave him about the school actually being meant to help young men like himself learn to control their powers in a much safer environment put him considerably more at ease.

Of course his parents intended to force him to go anyway since he was still too young to protest, he was all too willing to go anyway, and in his mind it was perfect timing too, He was almost done with normal classes anyway, so he figured by his 15th birthday he'd be able to freely focus on his powers with the help of the school's teachers. Of course he had no idea what he was getting into, regardless of his powers or desire to not accidently kill anyone, he was still likely to be the youngest student there with his education, and may still be a little naive.

Name: Cole Adair
Appearance:
Assecories: a woven fabric band that was given to him by his mother before she died. It's his only thing to really remember her.
Patch:
Age:15
Personality: Cole is a bit controlling and often wants people to do what he says. It's not that he doesn't mind being a follower, but he will always give his two cents if he doesn't like a decision. Cole is layed back and cool with doing anything. He is pretty lazy and hates to work. Cole also is friendly but doesn't take a hint to go away that well.
Bio: Cole was born into a poor family. He had to steal to survive and lived on the streets from an early age. His mom died when he was seven and his father was thrown into prisona year later. Cole doesn't visit him due to his petty crime spree. Cole would steal and run away at first but that got him caught pretty easy. Eventually he progressed to where he would use his smaller size to sneak in and steal and then leave.

He got 'discovered' by a gang when he was 12. They had a few bigger heists then just stealing food and clothes. They were a family to Cole. They decided to rob a house when no one was home. There was a strong box and no one out of the gang could reach it because it was placed about 15 feet off the ground. Cole wanted to prove himself so bad that he tipped the strong box off the ledge into his hands. He has only ever done minor things since, but he can control when he does something. He can only lift something about 1 lbs. currently, but there is always room to grow.

A couple of years later the gang had grown expontentially and were robbing bigger places. Cole had a flat to himself now. Nothing big. Just a small place to crash. He was one of the leaders now and by displaying his power, others were apt to follow him. During the heist of a government payroll, the police came rushing in and snatched everyone up. When Cole tried to escape by making a pin float over to him and tried to pick his cuffs he was noticed. The police immediately called the higher ups (who happened to be lounging in his Jacuzzi) and they sent him to Meta High.
