I've been around this site for quite awhile, though obviously not as long as some, and I've noticed a few things. First and foremost, I've noticed that the number of retarded sixteen year old hipsters is growing by the fucking day, as roleplaying becomes not a meaningful hobby but yet another "underground" activity that people wearing tight jeans and sporting retarded haircuts partake in.
I remember a time where I could go to RPG and talk to interesting people and talented writers, but now it seems as though every time I attempt to strike up a conversation the person on the other end of the internet is a vain, vapid and self-centered dumbshit. Am I the only one who is frustrated by the fact that nobody seems to give a shit about anything other than the latest literary fads (i.e. the Hunger Games) and meaningless romance RPs that require less than half a functional brain-cell to write? Am I the only one who feels that the "popular guys/girls" are the only ones who get any attention? Is this fucking high-school now?
Also, I understand that the spam section is for just that, spam, but come on guys, if I wanted to go to 4chan I would go to fucking 4chan.
Anyways, like the title said, these are just a few choice words that I wanted to share with anyone who gives enough of a shit to take time out of their day to read. If you sat through this tl;dr rant, thanks for your time and I hope you respond. If you disagree with what I've said, that's your opinion and I respect that. I have no desire to cause drama. Again, thanks.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU
Hehahaha!
Alright kiddo, calm down. There are still a few very creative and original roleplays out there. You'll typically find them in the Advanced Section. Casual and Free? Good luck finding one.
Oh, and I read up on your recent posts and found you were interested in Mass Effect 3. Isn't that a recent cliche? Yea... Yea it is. So ease back a little bit on a bunch of kids that do Hunger Games and other "recent cliches".

The Joker has spoken.
I maybe a hipster, but I GM awesome RPs D:<
Non of that Neko-Furry crap.
Then again I play D&D and like to RP in advanced so nm.
Carry on.
There is probably a seemingly larger population of younger members because the site has grown, I would imagine. Hell, I'm 15, my haircut is admittedly crap right now, and my writing isn't exactly the best - ask Grif, above, who has seen me roleplay - but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm a hipster, or that I roleplay for any reason other than I like writing, and, most importantly, I want to improve.
If you aren't finding people interesting to talk to, perhaps you've outgrown the community here, or vice-versa, but more likely, you're just not finding the right people. "There's someone out there for everyone" may well usually be applied regarding romance, but the message applies similarly for friendship and those you converse with. There will be like-minded people on this site, you just need to find them. Don't let encounters with a few "vapid and self-centered dumbshit"s colour your perspective of every member of this site.
I would also suggest that frustration at people finding interest in literary fads is a little misdirected. They enjoy something, they search for people with similar interests to roleplaying with, and using that setting, within the universe of said literary fad, gives them all common ground. If you wish to see more varied RPs...well, come up with an idea yourself, and GM it!
The comment equating Spam and 4chan...I don't understand, particularly. I'm not a frequenter of 4chan, but from my understanding, it is very different from Spam.
Sorry for any spelling or grammatical errors, and for the poor formatting, I'm writing this from my phone and editing...just, no, not at half past midnight.
I am taking an extended absence from the Guild for personal reasons. Anybody wanting to contact me, either for a specific reason or just an interest in conversing with my sparkling personality, can email me at henryalman@hotmail.co.uk
Ahahahahahahahaha, no. I can't advocate for free 'cause I typically don't go there, but I've seen plenty uncommon ideas in casual. I've also seen tons of clichés in advanced. You know the ironic part, though? In advanced I'm in a run-of-the-mill fantasy game and soon in a star wars nation-game. They were much more attractive than 'unique' and 'original' games to me.
Anyway. I think that's kind of the point. I really don't have much issue with 'retarded 16yo hipsters' because I typically don't see them. Neither will you if you don't join Hunger Games-RP's. I guess the site has become younger over the years, I'll give you that, but hey a site grows and we prolly joined around that age too. So obviously the average age goes down. That's when people join new sites and communities. Deal with it?
Also roleplaying was never a meaningful hobby. That makes you sound like a hipster.
