Hal looked over at her. "This isn't the work of the Darkness?" He asked concerned. Did they have another major enemy to face?
"Let's go investigate." Kilowog said rising. “Whatever did this deserves some payback. And who better to give it than me?”

"Let's go investigate." Kilowog said rising. “Whatever did this deserves some payback. And who better to give it than me?”
She shook her head and said "this looks like a planet virus....but worse. But if the darkness was here then there wouldn't be a planet. Lets go pay them a visit" they burst thru the cloud cover around the planet, the scanners barely picking up anything. "This does not look good...."
"Yeah. Hopefully someone is still alive." Hal said shaking his head sadly. He hated to see the deaths of regular people especially at such a large scale. He saw a blimp on the scanners. "Looks like at least one person is alive." He stated pointing at it.
"One person out of a whole planet?" Kilowog asked narrowing his eyes. "Sounds suspicious."
One the planet below the lone figure bent over coughing. It would only be a matter of time before death hit.
Wings landed and Maggie jumped up. "I have to get out there..." she glowed silver as the doors opened. Her wings appeared and she flew over to the figure, resting a hand on their back. "it's going to be alright now...help has come...."
Hal and Kilowog quickly followed Maggie out of the ship and toward the person.
The person was a young child of about nine or ten years of age. He was covered with dust and did not look very good. His eyes were slightly glazed over as if seeing something else, something beyond them. Seeing Maggie he tried to move. "No, must deliver..." His words broke off in a fit of coughing. "Don't take me yet." He whispered limply touching the cover a small box that was clipped to his side.
Hal recognized it as a projector recorder. Was something recorded in it? He wondered. "He thinks you are an angel coming to receive his spirit or something." He whispered to Maggie.
Hal hunched down on the other side of the boy. "She's right. We are here to help." He informed the child. "I'm Hal Jordon of the Green Lantern Corp. This is Maggie." He said scanning the boy with his ring.
The boy seemed to not hear them. He started to mutter, delusional, nothing making any sense. Hal looked at Maggie and shook his head. There was no time to get him to a doctor. He would be dead within minutes.
"You got it!" Hal said nodding toward Kilowog. The two positioned themselves in a defensive parameter looking outward. If anything headed their way, they would notice.
Suddenly explosions ripped through the air as building after building exploded into piles of rubble. A nearby explosion sent debris their way. Hal and Kilowog quickly recovered from the initial shock but not before some made it past their guard.
