Evening all!
I'm gonna get straight to it. I'm planning to create a highly intricate, detailed roleplay set in a 'rebooted' DC universe with a completely new world and setting.
I got the idea from the New 52 revamp of the entire DC franchise and alteration of characters and their histories.
Basically, this'll be a sandbox, free-roam RP based around character involvent and plot development. This is akin to my current roleplay, Carcer City, which runs on players creating their own story arcs and action. In my opinion, it not only makes things easier for me, but also endows players with free reign and doesn't constrict them to a linear over-arching plot.
As the GM, I'll also be adding random 'objectives', mostly citywide or global events interspread with choice missions given out by separate factions.
Now, the most exciting part is how I choose to display the RP. Besides keeping it for basic banter, I was thinking of using the OOC as a central HUB for newsfeeds and major events happening in the world.
In the IC, now this is the most exciting part. Taking the idea of a Casual RPer with an intricate design to his own superhero roleplay, I'm planning to create a separate IC for each major landmark and setting in the DC world (i.e., Metropolis, Gotham, Chinatown) in order to create a deeper feeling of the world. Each character can travel between the ICs and interact with other RPers.
There will also be a character depository with a sole purpose to hold character sheets and nothing more.
Now, due to the immense size and attention-to-detail required to run this, I'm going to need a few Co-GMs. This is why I decided to throw this up in the Interest Check.
If none of my acquaintences are able to help me with this, I was hoping someone, anyone, out in the Guild with enough experience and organisation could step up. I'll be needing a handful of Co-GMs in order to keep this running smoothly, probably one for each setting/world. We'll be planning and discussing beforehand, of course.
To characters.
This isn't a strictly 'wear a cape and tights' roleplay. A main aspect of this roleplay will be characters with abilities or just citizens living in a world of superheroes developing. To accentuate this, I won't be adding a 'hero' or 'villain' section to the CS and instead rely on persona, mentality and backstory. You can play a kid discovering that, after some accident, you can fly, or you can be a full-blown hero saving the day as a member of a super-team.
Oh, and before I forget to mention, yes you can play canon characters. When I say canon, remember that this is a new universe, so I'm expecting a little original tweaking. It doesn't have to be much, just a few changes, like "Superman has only been a superhero for a year", but I would prefer something highly original, like "Superman crash-landed in Nazi Germany and became the ideal 'Ubersmench'". Comprende?
And yes, this will have the Wildstorm universe and anything related with DC connected.

I'm interested, although I've never read the DC comics, just seen the TV shows and movies. Hopefully that isn't a problem.

Xartarin - No problem at all. It is a new universe after all. Plus, I'll be putting up basic info in the OOC. If you werr going to play a canon character, though, I'd suggest a little background research on the character

Don't worry about that, I've never been fond of playing canon characters in RPs. I'm hesitant to ever even mention them.

Certainly up for this, got a character all ready for this as well, I'll just need to tamper with them slightly so that it fits and all.

Interested for sure, I've been hooked on cape roleplay's lately. Will we be able to play multiple characters perhaps?
