    Tales of the Quest

    OOC/Bios & Information
Erka forest. It was a serene landscape, the sun reflecting on the leaves that were always green, even in the deepest winter. The beautiful landscape was named after Saint Erka, the one who had started a revolution in agriculture, leading to larger farms and allowing more people to specify in other trades.

Now, the green leaves festered with yellow boils. The lush forest floor that was filled with life was now a mushy, muddy death-trap. There was still plenty of life, but no longer did herbivores exist. Dark Magic had spread like the summer flu and was impossible to avoid. Even plants hungered for flesh. Even deer wanted to kill for the sake of it.

It was in this twisted landscape that the would-be saviours found themselves. They had all met and stayed the night in Yela, what used to be a city. But now it was a frontier against the Demon King's wilderness. The whole city was practically empty, and despite everyone 'learning' each others names and backgrounds (that they already knew from the breifing in Tiamos,) there was little chatter. The general mood was bleak. So they slept as strangers that night, and awoke to take their first steps into the Demon King's Domain.

Imir was trying to be in the lead, constantly looking back at the others. He had suggested that "The Hero" stay closer to the center. Of course its not like there was any leadership standing. The whole 'prophecy' seemed like a solution, so there was no need for planning.

... Yeah, not the smartest government. Well, now that they were all together they could start planning.

He shrugged his backpack higher. It was troublesome to carry as much food as he could stuff in there, but it'd be even worse to die from eating something in the land of the Demon King.

    "So....."

He was normally more social, but if there was one thing that required being professional, saving the world would probably be it.

Duke noticed how troublesome it was for Imir to carry the pack. He walked up next to him. "Here...let me carry that."

Oh good, a chance! "Oh great, thanks Duke. I don't mind carrying it when it's less dangerous... Though I'm not sure if that will ever happen, so I'll be taking it back in a few!"

A bright and cheerful exclaimation, trying to lighten the mood. Imir rolled his shoulders, making a few cracks to hopefully liven the others up. Even though there was nothing to but march through mush.

"You won't need to take it back, because it'll be extremely dangerous along the whole quest."

Well... Not that there was any problem with that. "If you want to, then I don't see a reason not to let you. But why DO you want to?" A nudging thought in the back of his mind said the Holy Knight thought a child couldn't carry the burden for long.

"It'll help with the quest, and increase your mobility. I don't have any mobility, because of all this heavy armor."

Feng waltzed up to the two up front, leaving his post at the back of the group because hey, why not? It's not like they'd be all organized the entire quest, what with fighting monsters and such.

"Oya, nice to see people helping each other out."

Thom, Gabriel to some, the Hero to all, walked silently in the center of the ragtag group. He wasn't too familiar with those who lived outside the capital, and so had regarded the warriors protecting him with mostly awe.

Right now, Thom was eying Duke, one of the only warriors to use a blade. He considered asking the man about his technique... "Uh, why don't I carry it? It's not like I can do much else..."

"Ah hey, that is a good reason." He certainly hadn't thought of that. "Just hope the food doesn't get crushed. ... Though I'd still rather eat crushed food than fruit with yellow blisters on it." Imir glanced uneasily at such a fruit.

"Hah, yeah. I was getting more worried about the mood than anything else. Never thought the quest to save the world would be so awkwardly assembled." Feng. A person who used his fists as weapons. ... Yeah, he should be the one carrying the packs. ... Well, that was awfully mean. If he was picked, he would be the best. That meant... something, at least. It's not like weapons automatically made a person better.

Feng merely smiled. Although, he noted the air of awkwardness between the monk and weapon morph. Afterall, he remembered the philosophy of the weapon morphs: One is useless without a weapon... And here he was, weaponless yet equally deadly, on a quest where only the most skilled could enter. That would be pretty awkward.
