Oh, and I don't want to actually become a Rider. There should be an option there. It's like everyone wants to be one, but everyone CAN'T be one. It's just not right. Can I become a Shade?
I put in the option to not be a rider. Look closer.
And I don't think having a Shade would be very good for rookie riders.

I think anything between 14 and 55 would work. Remember, Riders are immortal, and magic can fix the body up to however you want.

Also the "If Dragon, Brief History" section of the CS... is that only if the main character IS the dragon?

Maybe I just skipped over it. Whoops. Still, you should place a limit on the number of Riders. This would keep from having an overabundance of them.
And I'm not talking about becoming a Shade right away. I'm saying later in the game I become an evil Shade, even if I am a good guy in the first place.
