Sure. I'll poke some interest in here. I need to get a grasp on Steampunk for an Advanced rp, anyway.
IC
"Great events make me quiet and calm; it is only trifles that irritate my nerves."
--Queen Victoria
The British Isles in 1889. Queen Victoria is 70 years old - The cased bullet is a recent invention, and thus, many quick, easy-to-fire rifles and shotguns pepper gunsmiths' and armorers' shops. This invention improves the survivability of British humans. The elfish tribes still scorn the British due to a previous monarch's doing, and thus are too stubborn to accept them - well enough, says the Queen.
Despite the constant dangers, the British are rather happy. Politics aren't much of a problem, with Queen Victoria's rule. However, the occasional Centaur outbreak keeps the people on guard. With this knowledge, inventors are the heroes, using their inventions to save the cities.
Some elves have come to the city and assimilated with the British. Phylogeny is rampant, but accepted. Many older myths, like Sirens and Vaettir, only transcend through this art - though there are no more pure-bloods.
And, lastly, to touch up on this... Altered... History.
The Daemon Court in the Underworld threatens to invade Great Britain, and the Queen is mustering up troops to defend Mother England. Mercenaries, inventors, and many valorous men and women step up to save the Motherland. Perhaps you would join the military and save the country? Or maybe you'd work to save your homefront?
This is the age of Gold, Silver, Brass, and Steam. The World Goes On. The future is yet to come.

Rules:
1. A decent post is three or four lines. Feel free to do as much as you can.
2. Victorian era English is modern English, but most slang either didn't exist, or meant something completely different.
3. If you have any story suggestion, ie; mythical creatures, available character races, et cetera, ask me, or the appropriate character's player.
4. I encourage romance and suggestive situations, but if it gets pornographic, either take it to PM, or 'fade to black'.
5. I CAN revoke your character, or kill them off if you're too unfriendly in the RP (OOC OR IC). So be nice.

Credit to Kally!
Go ahead and make a character, or stick around and read.
Name: Burton Haringoth
Age: 53
Race: English Human
Occupation: Factory tycoon--owns many of the factories in Manchester and London
Appearance:
Historia: Burton Haringoth came from nothing. He was born into a large family, the father of which was a factory worker, barely earning enough to feed his family. As the middle child of seven, Burton was often overlooked by his parents; his older siblings were constantly getting into trouble and his younger siblings needed to be looked after. This taught him independence, and so he was able to attend a university and obtain a degree in alchemy, causing mischief and mayhem with his classmates as he progressed through it. However, he never used this degree and instead built a factory with a small amount of money he inherited from a distant relative. He quickly built this factory up, and soon it was one of the largest factories in Manchester. As he continued expanding his business, he became quite rich, and though he works hard for his money he tries not to flaunt it. He has no wife and lives mostly in solitude, other than his butler and his maid.
Persona: Burton Haringoth is a known philanthropist, often giving money to the poor. He is also quite a patriot, and has converted his factories to build weapons during times of war. He is friendly, corpulent, and jolly, and many look at him to be a friend to all. His clumsiness is legendary, and an old chant that goes around his factories is "Be thankful Haringoth isn't here, for a trip for him would cost us dear!" He is willing to make jokes at his own expense, and his favorite times are those of joy and merriment. He is able to tolerate huge amounts of alcohol with little effect. He is tall as well.
Preferred Armament:
A Lee-Metford Rifle:
An English arming sword:
Home Biome: Urban
This looks pretty neat, would you have any specific information on harpies for this? might want to play one if they are available. Assuming they are from the CS skeleton
Harpies are either tribal creatures in the wild, or they can be assimilated into the cities. The ones who assimilate make great Couriers and Testers.
Oh, and Invisible Man, nice job with the break away. I'd expect most people to be an inventor or soldier or something. You surprised me.
Thank you. I've played this character... many times. He fits perfectly into this kind of world, though I've never used him in a steampunk RP.
They're hard to find, huh?
Yeah. I feel like he's my go-to character, the kind of guy that can fit into almost any time period after about the year 1700. Except for pure fantasy.
I'm not really into pure fantasy, but I do like myth and fantasy elements. If that's not obvious.
