Backstory
Year 2016
Four years has passed since the Avengers were formed, and then 'disbanded' after defeating Loki and the Chitauri. Life is good and the world has never been more at peace. Knowing that there are superhumans out there with such devastating powers became the source of a dramatic drop in crime rates all over Earth.

But good things always come to an end.

The Chitauri are coming back, and this time they have a plan that even the Avengers might not be able to stop.


The Avengers
The Avengers are a group of remarkable men and women, under the command of SHIELD director Nick Fury. Although the group has yet to come together for a formal meetup, many found themselves interacting with each other during their four year hiatus: as comrades in arms and friends. Each individual dealt with their newfound fame in different ways. While certain billionaires chose to flaunt their power, others chose the life of quiet and solitude away from the suspicious eyes of humanity.

Also, I understand that this meager list does not include many of Marvel's Avengers but for the sake of the less hardcore fans but those who still love the movie, I'm trying to stick to the characters of The Avengers movie as much as possible.

Also, as a side note. This is based heavily on the movies: Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 1 and 2, and The Avengers.

This story line would be relatively consistent to The Ultimates.

Alias: Iron Man

Name: Anthony Edward Stark

Personality: Renown as the billionaire playboy CEO of Stark Industries, Tony Stark is hardly one of the more serious faces in the business world, particularly as Stark industries has taken steps away from its war mongering past. As sarcastic and quick witted as he is intelligent, Stark is a technological genius that, although despite all these boons he is prone to occasional bursts of melancholy. While he may seem to take nothing seriously, this can quickly change and he is a very driven person when it comes to protecting both the causes and people he cares about. Previously turned down from the Avengers program for being overly self-obsessed and a poor team worker, both of which claims were later discredited.

Biography: The son of a wealthy industrialist and head of Stark Industries, Howard Stark, and Maria Stark, Anthony Edward Stark was born on Long Island. A boy genius, he enters MIT at the age of 15 to study electrical engineering and computer science. After his parents are killed in a plane accident, he inherits his father's company.

Tony Stark suffers a severe chest injury during a kidnapping in which his captors attempt to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction. He instead creates a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity. He later uses the suit to protect the world as Iron Man. After his escape Stark profoundly reconsidered his political opinions and the morality of manufacturing weapons for the military, despite the fact that through his multinational corporation ― Stark Industries ― Tony has created many military weapons, some of which, along with other technological devices of his making, have been integrated into his suit. While potentially hypocritical, the remnants of his previously egocentric lifestyle is reflecting in that he can only trust himself with his most dangerous technology since becoming the Iron Man.

Writing Sample:

Destruction was everywhere, worse even than the aftermath of an earthquake, central Manhattan had take the full force of the alien invasion, groups of civilians sheltered in the wreckage of vehicles or the lower floors of buildings, those who had not reached such cover had died in droves.

But the humans did have one thing going their way.

The aliens may have had untold further years of advanced technology over humanity, but they did not have the genius that was Tony Stark, at least, that was according to himself, at least days he was almost sarcastic when mentioning his own brilliance.

"It's all in the application," he though to himself as he pulled a turning which nearly tore the suit apart, and caused the tailing alien hover-skiffs to crash into an officer block, hopefully abandoned by now. The fighting was desperate, The Avengers against an unknown alien force many hundreds of times, if not thousands or more, their number. They were holding, but just. The red and gold suit had been sighted across the city, swooping in to lay low a extra terrestrial monstrosity or save civilians from the jaws of one of the enemies giant flying mechanical snakes...or at least, snakes were just about the closest thing he could decide upon at the moment, they had very little in common. The creature like machines had done more damage to the city than all the vast legions of infantry, the colossal troop transports couldn't even move without sowing destruction in their wake, only the hulk could rival them for brute strength, not to mention the weaponry lining their sides and manned by ET's nastier cousins, it had taken all of the avengers to down the first one through the rent in the Earth's sky, since then they were slowly beginning to put a dent in their numbers, though a face off with one was hardly a welcome idea.

As the boosters on the suit flared, picking up speed, another of the monstrosities turned into view at the far end of street, slicing in two several tower blocks as it did so, the potential death toll even of these things moving around the city was not something he wanted to comprehend. They were ponderous creatures, while it attempted to snap at him as he approached, he easily avoided the jaws, slowing his speed to twist and turn around the giant killing machine.

As he did so, the laser weaponry on his gauntlets fired up, before he aimed the deadly attack at the beast, resulting in scorched metal but little more. His frustration ground at him.

"50% power sir, you will drain the suit dry before you damage it in this way."

"Well, then JARVIS, lets get a better look at this thing," he replied before powering up the suits boosters again, flying high above the ponderous flying vehicle, before outpacing it and turning once again, hovering at the end of the street.

"JARVIS, have you ever heard the tale of Jonah and the Whale?"

"I don't consider him a role model sir...."

I would like to put a hold on Hawkeye. One of my all time favorites. As far as which line of history I would like to go for his origin form which seems to be what the movies did. Basically Hawkeye was a bad guy the first 2 or 3 times meets any of the avengers. Then he becomes an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. while also running his own side projects. If we want we can have him also be the agent who helped recruit several members of the team.
