It was three weeks after the wedding of Princess Cadance and Shining Armour when the inter-dimension portals opened, Princess Luna found it whilst stretching her wings on a most glorious of nights. She had been flying, near a place about halfway between Ponyville and Canterlot where two cliffs met to form an almost perfect 90 degree angle, when she noticed a bright light emanating from what appeared to be an old hut built right in the point, which she was certain hadn’t been there the last time she’d flown this way. Cautiously, she landed and approached the hut. She found that there were no windows, only a door with a lantern above it; this was the source of the light she had seen. The door appeared unlocked, and, curiosity getting the better of her, Luna opened the door. Stepping inside she found a very plain room, containing only a few lanterns, and two other doors which she was certain must open into the cliffs.

Luna studied these two doors, finding each featured a symbol. The door on the right portrayed a small circle with 5 larger circles around it, the door on the left showed a flowing smoke-like thing, which looked much like her smoke form when she was still Nightmare Moon. Wondering what could be behind his door, she trotted over and opened it, only to find an almost identical room to the one she had just exited, except the air felt thick and choking, yet bone dry, and she was on the right side of the room and another door with the circle symbol was on the left side of the room. She walked over to what seemed to be a door outside and opened it to find a landscape similar to the one she had just flown over, same cliffs, same hills, but it seemed completely devoid of life, no birds, no animals, no plants except for a few dead and blackened trees. Everything was white, grey or black and all was bathed in a red glow. Looking up, Luna found herself looking at a huge red moon, a Blood Moon, something that only occurred once every hundred years in her world, and she was certain this was not her world.

Retreating from the dead world, which she believed could not possibly contain any life; she returned to her world and closed the door. Now Luna had to decide whether to continue through the circle door or not. She decided she should at least glimpse what the second world had to offer, certain now that these doors were portals to other realms. Opening the door she entered another room, and this time trotted straight through the other door and out into a landscape near identical to her own realm, except there were mango trees instead of the ancient oak trees of her realm. The air was pungent with the tantalising smell of ripe mangoes. Feeling suddenly hungry Luna went to pull a mango from the closest tree when a regal female voice rang out “Do not eat those child; they are not what they seem!”

Stepping back, Luna wiped her head around, looking for the source of the voice, to find a strange creature hovering nearby. The creature was tall with feathered wings as big as itself and no fur but for a long silvery mane, its skin the colour of pale peaches. The creature wore a silver tiara and a long midnight blue gown, and what looked like furless monkey’s hands in place of hoofs. The face was even stranger, similar to that of the exotic animal called a gorilla she had once seen, only with a strange nose and large ears. Luna felt that the creature was studying her in return with its dark blue eyes. “What sort of form is this? I have never seen or become it before” the creature asked, landing.

“Form? What, pray tell, does thou mean?” Luna asked, confused.

“What transformation, for I have never seen a pony such as the one you are transformed into” the creature replied.

“I do not know what it is you mean by transformation, but I am an alicorn” Luna said, still confused.

“Hmmm, what is your name?” the creature asked.

“I am Princess Luna, Mare of the Night” she replied.

“Princess? I am Princess Claire de Lune, the Night Watcher. How is it you come to be here so late at night, and in such a dangerous area?” Claire de Lune asked.

“I am not of your world; I came through the door of the old hut. What does thou know of it?” Luna asked, feeling that she could somewhat trust this creature which called itself princess.

“Another world… I guess it is possible, it would explain the fruit… as to the hut; it was not there the last time I flew this way about 3 nights ago. You say it leads to your world?”

“Yes and a second realm which smells of death, no plant seems to grow and dust covers all… what, may I ask, is wrong with the fruit?”

“Hmm, strange. These are a special type of mangoes, they contain a powerful sleeping drug, good to eat if you’re about to have surgery, not so good if you eat them in the orchard where the Orchard Keeper, a vicious creature that eats sleeping prey, can get you. This area is especially dangerous as it contains seven Orchard Keepers, while in other places there are usually only two or three.” Claire de Lune explained. “Does everyone in your world look like this?”

“There are only three alicorns in Equestria, my older sister, Princess Celestia, our niece, Princess Cadance and myself. All other ponies are unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies.”

“Okay. Let me see.” A soft shimmering silver light obscured Luna’s view of Princess Clair de Lune, and after a few moments the light faded to reveal an alicorn standing before Luna, slightly taller, with a silvery white coat, midnight blue mane and tail and dark blue eyes and no cutie mark. The alicorn looked over herself. “Nice! And here I was thinking I’d shifted into every possible form.”

Luna stepped back in shock “Th-Thou art a changling?”

“A changling? I’ve never heard of it. No, I am a shape shifter. I guess you don’t have those in your world”

“No, we do not” Luna said, still unsure.

The two went on talking for a long while, each fascinated by the tales of the others world, and they found they had a similar setup for royalty. In the shifter world, only royalty had the true form of an angel, and Claire De Lune protected the night, while her older sister, Princess Solar, guarded the day. They had a younger brother, Prince Reagan, who had yet to find his place. The two Princesses agreed to meet here in the morning to decide what was to be done about the portal.

The next day they met as planned, and they made plans. It was decided that some shifters would travel to and live in the pony world to learn. A guard was also to be posted at the hut in each world to prevent unauthorised ponies or shifters wandering into the desolate third world.

This is the beginning of a fanfic I'm writing, and I thought is would make an interesting rp

Basically you would play a shifter or a pony. Feel free to use one of the mane 6. More about the third world will come later

Note: Shifters have yet to gain their cutie marks, and can shape-shift into many different forms, though they usually have a favourite form.

Basically Luna has found 2 portals, one to a dead world and the other to a land where shapeshifters live. Now some shifters have come to live in ponyville to learn. Later on something evil will come from the dead world.

Okay, simple enough. Any rules we need to know? Will we be using Canon Charecters or OC's? Will there be cake?

People can use the mane 6 or whatever background characters they want, or make their own pony. Prince Reagan is an available character, but if no one else wants him I'll play him. And yes, there shall be cake.
