The Pacific Rim: Part 1 - The Deep (OOC)

The roaring of flames in that dark hut had been the worst of the man's problems. Poverty, loss of children and wives and the perils of modern society had made him almost insane. It had driven him to the very edge, literally. There he stood, back facing his back to the crackling hut, and his face glaring at the ocean beneath him. The chalk that he stood on kept the ocean from tearing his limbs apart, and the waves that splattered against his face barely shook him. The stern expression meant that he was watching, watching as the world did. For the entirety of it was focused on this man and his waves, in the middle of no where, in the end of all things good and plenty.
He squinted. Could it be? Seagulls rushed past his tatty clothes, as millions of people chewed their neat velvet pillows on there neat velvet furniture. Nothing was neat here. Nothing was velvet, at the coast of the Pacific Rim.
Now, the waves endured the wind, and the wind picked up it's already rushing speed. The water churned like milk in a jug, but nothing delicious or bountiful would be amde here. Not today. Or tomorrow. For the man was afraid, he had always been, for his life. But it seemed not to matter now, his family, his meaning. His meaning was here, standing, at the edge of all things, watching into the abyss.

But this abyss had been filled. By something that cast it's hand across the entirety of the land. It chuckled and whispered, in deep lungs. The sinews of it's heart were made of dark black charcoal. It's heart was burning. Burning into an ash. The sky resembled it immensely, as huge clouds swirled around it's shoulders. The heart had become a massive canyon of ash. And the world was about to face the same fate.

Welcome to The Pacific Rim! This is based on the Guillermo Del Toro film soon to come out (or already has, if this survives that long!) with the same name. Now, this RP will yes, be about fighting giant godzilla-esque monsters with giant mechanical robots of awesomeness, but this will NOT get repetitive and boring. No, I will change things up a bit. It will be become a new universe, where it isn't bound by the laws of the film. It will become something much more, and hopefully more fun that piloting a giant robot and punching Godzilla.

    Testings [Please Read]
    Spoiler

    Applications:

There are, in Part 1, two types of players. Kaiju and People. Kaiju are those giant godzilla type monsters that rain high heavily maintained hell upon you and your burning men. They are extremely tall, about 300ft, and reside in the ocean, venturing near coasts if they want to. They are causing massive destruction to human civilizations, and ever since these creatures surfaced somewhere down the Pacific ocean, countries with coasts surrounding the body of water have been worried.
And they should be, as these monsters have been destroying everything in their path.

Nickname: (What will everyone call it?)
Height: (For now, not over 350ft)
Aura: (All Kaiju emit a fain aura. What type is yours?)
Abilities: (No OP here, but what makes your Kaijuu unique?)
    Appearance:
Home: (What part of the Pacific Coast do you reside?)
I will be adding more to this, yes, but in time. In time. Just leave what you think of it down below, and this should be some encouragement!

Notes: I have moved this from the Free OOC section to here, in Casual OOC. I think this will be the best for the RP, since I want to challenge myself and my players more than I usually do. Also, if you want to Co-GM, feel free to ask here or PM me.

Frodo: I can’t do this, Sam.

Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?

Sam: That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for.

Optimus Prime: One shall stand, one shall fall.

Megatron: Why throw away your life so recklessly?!

Optimus: That's a question you should ask yourself, Megatron.

Sometimes, I think I can make a change on this planet, but then I just look up something to do with Lord of the Rings and forget about it.

Welp, I said that I would look at this, I'm probably going to join. Do we have to fill out character sheets, or are we just assigned characters?

Sorry, I'm going to fill out 'Apps' when I get the time/people/motivation. I'm actually surprised that you posted so soon, Amethyst, so welcome!
Also, yes, you're going to get to create your own character. Can you see to invite some of your friends over? I would like two people posting here before writing up the apps.

I don't want to waste my time, after all.

Could we play the roles of some of the Monsters? Cause the next best thing from getting to pilot giant robots is to be a giant monster.

Eh, I didn't want too many people playing the monsters, as they are ... well, monsters after all, and I'm worried that you would get bored with the character. There will be protests, training, engineering, outside life with your character when you're not battling giant monsters.
Also, we won't be gearing up in a 280ft beast straight away. We'll play it from the beginning, from the fight sighting of the monsters. Expect 'jets' to be our first mode of attack. But to answer your question, you can play a monster if you really want to.
    TWO PEOPLE WOO!
Now I can update the post with applications ;D

I was hoping to add my own monster, maybe give it a bit of characterization, and than go nuts on humanity.

Sure, but keep it in reach of what we already know about Kajius.
They're big, scaly, got huge point teethy heads, with an aura spilling out of their mouths. And tiny eyes. And lots of legs.
So, you can pretty much go crazy. We'll be using the Jaegers from the film for the most part, but they can be customized later on.
    I'd like to say this.
If this survives to a third part, I will reward everyone with the coolest thing ever.

I'm going to take some creative liberties based on how little we do know about the monsters too, however. nothing too OP, just something to give them character.

That's fine mate, that's fine. But no giant pink wings please. I'll try to get the App page down.
Can you invite some people over if you can, Lucius?
