---Backstory---

March 2014- NASA finds irrefutable evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. This knowledge is kept from the public and filed away at Area 51.

December 2016- A Deep-Space Exploration Probe is launched from the Internaational Space Station. It's progress is recorded over several months.

July 2017- Contact lost with the Deep-Space Probe. Before it went offline, it transmitted back an image of a massive ship. One week later, Dr. Jerome Freeman presents his plans for an orbital defense weapons array.

September 2018- Construction of the satelite weapon commences. The public is finally informed of NASA's findings on Mars.

August 4th 2026- One month before the weapons array is due to go live, NASA reports a complete loss of contact with the International Space Station. A message was sent right before the loss of contact: They are here.

As you've probably gathered from the Backstory section, this is an alien-invasion RP. It's going to be based around the human resistance, more specifically, a spec-ops unit taking on the most important and most dangerous missions. Their success is vital to the continuation of the human race. Hope you all have fun!

---INTEL---

The Aliens (name pending) are a race of Techno-Organics, the ultimate fusion of (man) and machine. Our limited analysis shows that a symbiotic bond exists between individuals of their race. It is as if they share one mind. The majority of their force is made up of the Foot Soldiers, Organic minds and bodies wrapped in a synthetic shell. Their Battle-Suits are powered by an internal power source and therefore unable to be sabotaged. Their weaponry is forged on to the suits themselves and powered by this same internal source. Weapons labeled as Rifle- Medium-ranged bursts of laser or short-ranged sustained lasers. Longarm- Single long-range translucent beam approx. 2m long. Heavy- Equivalent to RPG. Short charging period along with target acquisition. 2 known modes of fire. Straight shot and trench-run, which fires an energy pulse into the ground. The pulse locks on to the target of the blast and races towards it at a depth of 2m below the surface, where it is untraceable until it emerges to detonate with the force of a small thermobaric missile. Effective range of 1000m.

In addition to the Foot Soldiers, the alien ground forces include Drones, which appear to be corpses stripped of bones and organs and replaced with cybernetics. They are controlled by an outside source or possibly by leaders of ground forces if such a chain of command exists. They are not outfitted with Battle-Suits like the Foot Soldiers but they do have some form of armor which is penetratable by our weapons. The Drones are equipped with weaponry similar to the rifles carried by most Foot Soldiers. Early reports suggest that each Drone is outfitted with a small energy cell, positioned just above where the exact center of the lower back would be in humans- puncturing this energy cell, with either blade or bullets, is enough to 'kill' the unit.

The aliens have vehicles presumably powered by the same energy that powers their weapons, Drones, and Battle-Suits. These vehicles include armored tank-like ground roamers, airborne fighters, and the massive invasion ships they initially arrived on.

Lastly, have fun with it you guys, I'll be editing in my character to this post a bit later on, and hopefully we can get this running ASAP!

I updated that Intel section of the OP, its not complete yet but there are some pictures posted that'll give you guys an idea of what the aliens look like.

Apart from what I have left to throw into that section, I've got my own characters bios to start up, I've got way too much to say to fit the whole story in the bio, so I'm just gonna be covering the basics there, and fleshing out the details in a flashback in my first post, you guys could do the same if you want!
