Yeah; I remember, sad about that, but it happens.
I've been lucky enough to be in two that are in the two years old range, though.
Hmm...interesting, this, but several questions:
1. Just what WOULD be the properties of an Elynian born from bioluminescence?
2. A Tenebra's type is determined by the type of Elynian it devours...does this mean that a Tenebra can only consume a single type of Elynian?
3. Are Tenebras human-shaped too?

I don't know the answers, but I can take guesses at them.
1. These haven't appeared in the rp yet, we were just discussing what-ifs.
2. I don't think so. I think it just means it gains power from whatever type it tends to feed on the most. So say you have a tenebra that prefers to feed on vulcans and has that rage thing, but if there are no vulcans in the area, it can feed on other types of Elynian.
3. For the most part no, except for, perhaps, shades. Well, we do know that thunderclouds, wisps and murders look like clouds, a tendril of smoke and birds. I'm not sure what form an abyss takes, so I ran with the idea that it was so dark in color that not even other tenebra could make out its shape.
@Shin Majin: Mairzy answered your questions with accuracy to a great degree. I only have a few things to add.
1. Indeed, they are what-ifs. However, the table is open to suggestions.
2. This is also true. However, Tenebra have a natural affinity for a certain type of prey and will, regardless of whether it has fed on that prey within a recent period of time, possess characteristics that make it adept at hunting THAT specific prey. Although, as Mairzy has pointed out, necessity can drive a Tenebra to devouring a certain kind of light.
3. Yes, an Abyss can be nigh indistinguishable for other Tenebra or even Elynians for that matter, however, a sufficiently powerful and sane Abyss (Or Void for that matter) can manifest itself in whatever way, shape or form it so desires.
I will make another amendment to clarify.

@Pumirya: I agree. Well, real life happens. I am proud to say that I am running a series of stories, novellas and roleplays that has endured for 5 years now.
