A few months after Frank West revealed what really happened in Willamette, the infection had spread in Arizona. You are in a mall, and there's no way out except in the air. You may have your reasons to be here, but there's one thing for sure; you need to survive. Three days is all you need until help arrives. But that is the question; how far will you go to live?

IC: Dead Rising: Arizona

You are a survivor that ended up stranded in a mall. Zombies are everywhere except in the safe-house, and three days is all that you have to wait for the helicopter. However, this task may not be easy, as several important tasks needs to be done while waiting. And there are insane people outside the safe-house, who want to kill you for whatever reason they have. But you are not the only survivor. There are others who await the rescue, and together, you may be able to overcome the nightmare in Arizona.

Appearance: [A picture or a good description. If you're going to use a picture, don't use a super huge/small one. If you're using a description, be as descriptive as you could except for private areas.]

Size: [How tall are you? Although I'd like descriptive information, you may choose Small, Average, or Tall if you're freaking lazy. Also, this does change the areas you could reach.]

Inventory: [How much sh*t could you carry? Remember, you do not have a black and white hole in your pocket like Frank West. The minimum you could carry if one, while the maximum is six. Heavy items that require two hands to carry will take up two slots, while other weapons like shotguns take up one slot. Also, if you have more than four slots, your running speed must be 'Average' or slower.]

Rules [Updated at 5/18]:

1) Don't god-mod/super-power yourself. If you do, I'm going to send in a self-destruction bomb on your character, instantly ending the life of him/her. And it WILL be humiliating, as a zombie will toss it.

2) Swearing is allowed, as Dead Rising is an M-rated game anyways. However, if you overuse it, I will ask you to lower the use of it. If you don't, it will be the same consequence used in Rule #1.

3) Do not ignore effects given to you by the GM/Co-GM. If you do, your character will suddenly die without anything more to do.

4) Yes, you may have genetically enhanced skills like Frank West. Except Frank West doesn't have laser eyes. Same consequence given like Rule #3 if you go overboard.

5) Yes, you may have spiritual characters (one example is Rika from Higurashi When They Cry). However, I do NOT want to see telekinesis or those types of Mass Effect crap going on.

6) A child (under the age of 12) WILL need to stick with someone when outside the safe-house. If alone, the child will have a limited time to stay outside before a running zombie would catch them.

7) If you're going to participate in the RP, make sure that you would post frequently. Otherwise, you'll miss the helicopter/ending.

8) You may have up to three characters.

9) Remember, this is a semi-serious RP. Sure, you could be as serious as f*ck, but keep in mind that you could put some humor into your dude. Kinda like Kent Swanson when he was sane.

10) Combo Weapons will break apart depending on what they are.

11) A spiked bat can NOT be used to cut stuff in half. I did say semi-realistic, so this goes for other blunt objects that don't have sharp edges like a sword.

12) If I find your character making some big crap up about running away before the military arrives, then your character will die in a bizarre fashion by a randomly generated psychopath.

Some things you need to know... (Updated as of 5/22):

1) In the beginning, the zombies are not inside the mall. However, they are outside of it. If you are going to somehow enter the mall, it must be in air. Otherwise, you should start your role inside the mall. Also, you must never interrupt the introduction sequence.

2) Be aware that no-one is behind the case of the outbreak in Arizona. There's no-one like Carlito in here.

3) The helicopter will arrive after three days. Be aware that this is not the end of the role-play.

4) Psychopaths WILL roam in specific parts of the mall at specific times. This may result in some psychopaths never being found throughout the entire RP, although it'd be best to avoid them.

5) You don't exactly level up in this role-play, but you may add increased passive abilities as time passes (running speed, eating speed, attacking speed, etc.). However, the same consequences will appear if your attack speed and attack strength are both 'Strong/Powerful/Fast'.

6) The GM/Co-GM will control psychopaths, zombies, and military soldiers.

7) The military soldiers in here are on your side. They appear on the third day, and they will attack psychopaths if you tell them. However, keep in mind that they are not invincible. (Military soldiers usually roam around the mall to keep it clean, but they will go to the safe-house at random times to recover.)

8) Your Strength will affect combat. However, it will put more interesting situations in.

9) If you're in trouble, then you're going to be in a game of luck. Depending on where you are, if you need a place to hide safely temporarily, then you may 'Inspect' the area. Keep in mind that you can't do anything else after you being inspecting. (nothing will harm you during this sequence, but afterwards, everything will resume back to normal, so be quick to move). You may find areas that are high above the ground, which could be reachable by people who are Tall. You may be able to crawl into some hidey-hole if you're Small. Either way, just try a way to hide from danger when necessary.

10) You CAN die. If you recklessly barge into a crapload of zombies without protection and do so repeatedly, a zombie may take you down. It is best to avoid fighting these guys unless you really want to bust some heads as a time-killer. Also, be extra careful around psychopaths, as the damage they deal would give off nasty side-effects.

11) You can dress up differently at anytime, but be sure to describe what you wear. Specific clothings are scattered in the mall.

12) You may cross-dress. I will NOT do anything about your reputation, though.

13) You may create combo weapons. A list provided with recipes will be posted.

14) There are randomly generated psychopaths that could appear under certain circumstances.

15) If people do not volunteer to do crucial things such as creating a radio signal to the military, unlocking specific parts of the entire place you're in, or other stuff, then you WILL get a different ending. Presumably a bad ending.

16) It is possible to experiment with random recipes to make a custom combo weapon. Chances of failure is high, but if successful, it's definitely worth it.

Carpenter Workshop: He liked to do some workshop in his spare time; such things as making wooden models, bats, masks and the like from logs of wood, so he often used a axe to cut them down to length.
Gun range: If he was going to protect people he had to keep his skills nice and sharp, after all he learned before that 'freeze' doesn't cut it with people trying to kill you.

Abilities:
Police training: Having spent years and years within the police force its a no brainier that Jack has had training in the form of using small firearms, such as pistols, shotguns and SMG's, and also basic close combat training that comes along with it. Being being able to disarm, fight right without hurting oneself and locking someone in a hold before restraining them in the right way is what comes along with it.
Carpenter hobby: Ahh time spent relaxing is all well and good, but in this case it comes in very useful. Though he can not make anything super complex Jack is good at crafting things out of wood, more so if its meant to last. In this respect he is able to build strong barricades and basic weaponry.

Biography:
Jack always knew that he wanted to protect people, it was his dream ever since he was a small boy in the lush and quite place of New England, where the only big crimes that happened around where he was were the ones that involved him stealing a slice of pie that had been left out to cool. He knew he would have to move out to a big city to make a difference and make the world just like his neighborhood. Oh the dreams of a small lad, how fragile and misguided they were and Jack's was about to be shattered across the ground like a glass vase...

After he achieved his dream of becoming a beat cop in a big city, Jack discovered that crime wasn't just limited to the streets, oh no, it happened within the force itself. Corrupt cops and side payments to look away, everything that happened on TV happened right in front of him, ranging from a deal to look another way on a drugs shipment and then murder... It didn't stop, but Jack didn't have the power to do anything so all he could do was follow the other sheep and turn the other way and forget it ever happened. Over the years he built a family that he loved and a home he could be happy of, but this was all balancing on a tip of a pin as the actions of the police was starting to get to him, grinding away at his mind like a high powered drill.

Soon the cases built up and it was effecting him more and more, even effecting his home life where his wife left him, took the house and even left their child with him to look after while she went off around the world. He tried to be the best father he could, but with the threats and everything else he just couldn't keep his child safe... So he quit and went outside the normal law to become a new man, a man that could truly make a difference outside of the corrupt politics of the police force. He became a freelance detective that would solve cases that the police wouldn't touch, protect people that paid high enough for their personal body guard and of course bring justice to the gangs of the city.

By this point he had been in his new job for over ten years, and his ex wife had taken their child out on a holiday to her home in Arizona, but when no news from either of them came through Jack had to go and check to see if they were alright. However when he got there he soon discovered that he was unlucky in more ways than one as he got there just when the nfection spread to Arizona, and like a swam they infested the town, blocking Jack's chance to find his child. Now he has entered the mall for protection and his new goal is to save his child from this nightmare... Wherever he may be.

Wall Running - Marcus can cross gaps by running across walls. He can't do it for more than five feet, however.

Wall Jumping - Marcus can run up a wall, and then kick off to reach a ledge that is too high to reach normally. He can manage to reach heights of ten feet using this technique.

Free Running - Marcus has conditioned himself to be able to run for long distances, vault over objects, and recover from falls much quicker than the average person. He can also jump farther.

Martial Arts - Marcus is a first level Black Belt in MMA. He joined Kendo to further his mastery, and as such can wield a sword and his fists with deadly efficiency.

Biography: Marcus was born and raised in the largest city in America, Jacksonville. He was born into a relativity well off family. His father had a decently paying job and his mother worked part time at the local barber shop for spending money. They lived in a nice neighborhood in a large house, and Marcus had a pretty nice early life. He had friends that shared his interest in the little known genre of Anime and Manga, as well as quiet a few gaming pals. He fell in love with Martial Arts from a very young age, and his parents signed him up for Tae-Kwon-Do. It soon became his obsession, and he trained day and night. He loved showing off for his friends, and when his Sensei recommended he try a competition he lept at the chance. He managed second place in his first Tournament, something he was very proud of, and trained even harder to be undefeated. By the time he was twelve, He had risen through the ranks and was nearing his Black Belt level. Marcus felt like he needed something a bit more to help round out his hand to hand skills, and was signed up for Kendo. He began training both skills to perfection, winning numerous awards and tournaments. He reached black belt level when he was 16 and decided he was done with improving his Martial Arts. He instead focused on his Kendo skills. With all his effort being focused on mastering his wooden blade, Marcus quickly became top of the class and passed with honors. Now left with nothing left to train, Marcus took to the internet to find something he could do to improve his physical prowess. He found the magical art of Parkour, and began practicing it. It was an easy task with his history of quick movements. By the time he hit 17, he could vault and climb with the best of them. He recently made the choice to go to Arizona for an Anime convention, though he wasn't going to be his inertly nerdy self and dress up. Just a simple hoodie and some clothes was all he needed. He had stopped in a small town for the night and decided to hit the mall before finding a place to stay for the night. It's a good thing, too, because a Motel probably wouldn't be able to keep out zombies for long.

Abilities: Monkey boy [Not 'literally', but he's small, spry, flexible and knows how to throw his weight around when needed.] The put this more specifically, He's not all that durable when faced with attacks, however he is spry and dodgy, flexible enough to fit in just about any space or worm his way out of holds. He's moderately good at climbing/jumping/landing. [Too avoid god modding, while he has lots of bonuses from that one 'perk' their not 'as' extensive as someone who took a specialty that only gave one. plus the added disadvantage.]

Premonitions: [I actually have this happen IRL xD so i occasionally like to chance it and see if it's acceptable] This mainly comes in the form of premonition 'dreams', seeing glimpses of future events while asleep, though he has a tendency to forget the dreams unless they are extremely vivid, and often remembers them seconds before they happen. Once in a long while he also has a vision while awake. [If this is accepted the way i would see it working out, the GM decides a certain number of events that he can predict per day, or defines 'hints' for definitive events that my character would have to decipher to know what might happen, and can provide hints to events or decide when an actual vision might happen to him, which could actually happen at a bad time when it'd leave him vulnerable too]

Inventive: This is just a way of making 'having an imagination' an ability XD He also has an anarchist cookbook though and he loves to use it and his brain to make various 'toys', some of which can be explosive, but obviously the right ingredients are needed to pull that off. He just 'knows how' and may not even end up needing to. [Note: the A.C. Is illegal and i do not really own it, though i do remember some of the types of things it contained before it became illegal and i got rid of my copy. the explosives are not 'huge' and requires special chemicals, there was radio related things in it, and other such useful info]

Biography: There's not really much to say about his past that's relevant, He's from north Carolina, despite living so far away he is an immense fan of Horror games, and has come to Arizona for the sole purpose the games Exhibit within the malls. Granted the mall he originally intended to visit was shut down for some reason he wasn't allowed to know, and instead went to another mall [the one in this RP XD]. He may well be one of the only people who's having 'fun' with a zombie outbreak, of course he's not going to let the 'fun' of it make him get stupid and start to think he can just hit a reset button.

Chili Dog: He'd had it wrapped up and stored in his jacket for 'lunch' for the day.

Anarchist Cookbook: Can't say how he got ahold of it, But it's stored in his backpack. It's not very useful in combat, though it is pretty damn thick, it could easily block a couple bullets or be used to bludgeon something with it's weight, though he'd rather not get it torn up so chances are that won't happen.

From there he joined the U.S. Army, and due to his college education, was immediatly promoted to Specialist. By the time he was deployed to fight in Afghanistan, Tony had achieved the rank of Sergeant. However, two weeks before his 30th birthday, his squad was en route to a suspected terrorist intelligence base, when an explosive detonated next to his humvee. Of the six passengers, two were killed, and the rest had varying injuries. Shrapnel from the vehicle penetrated Anthony's right leg. He was taken to a hospital at the nearest Base, and although they were able to remove the shrapnel and save his leg, it took Anthony almost a year of physical therapy to recover. But even then, his leg will never be 100% fixed.

Sergeant Wheeler was honourably discharged due to his injuries, and sent back home. He was in Arizona, on the way to visit a friend from high school, when he stopped at a mall to eat, as he still had a ways to go. There the infection struck, and he was trapped - once again in a warzone, only with a new, unfamiliar enemy.

Carpenter Workshop: He liked to do some workshop in his spare time; such things as making wooden models, bats, masks and the like from logs of wood, so he often used a axe to cut them down to length.
Gun range: If he was going to protect people he had to keep his skills nice and sharp, after all he learned before that 'freeze' doesn't cut it with people trying to kill you.

Abilities:
Police training: Having spent years and years within the police force its a no brainier that Jack has had training in the form of using small firearms, such as pistols, shotguns and SMG's, and also basic close combat training that comes along with it. Being being able to disarm, fight right without hurting oneself and locking someone in a hold before restraining them in the right way is what comes along with it.
Carpenter hobby: Ahh time spent relaxing is all well and good, but in this case it comes in very useful. Though he can not make anything super complex Jack is good at crafting things out of wood, more so if its meant to last. In this respect he is able to build strong barricades and basic weaponry.
