Saya looked up at him when he reached out his hand, she took it hesitantly and let him help her up... So, he was just as clueless as him, that might be a slight problem if she wanted to find out more... She heard him say his name and decided that she should reply. "I'm Saya, Saya Vermont." She answered him, hoping her voice wasn't shaking anymore from her nightmare. "It's nice to meet you to..." She looked around again, she liked the look of this place, it was green and quiet, and she could hear the forest animals chattering to each other. It was peaceful here.

"Gah! By the gods woman" the pointy eared man said as her scream echoed through his elongated ears. Then suddenly a memory flashed through his mind, of him running through the forest, the roar of a bear echoing out. "Swiften........my name is Swiften." The revelation sparked something within him, some ingrained instinct. He began to look around the grove with new purpose, as if he knew what it is he was looking for. No longer swaying and shaky on his feet, Swiften took on a more confident, and centered posture. Swiften walked over to Flint. "You said that your name is Flint?" Swiften looked Flint over, becoming pre occupied with the strange hat that he had on his head. "We need to secure ourselves in this place, with shelter, food and a clean source of water. It matters little what we know of our current situation if we all die of hunger or succumb to the elements."

Flint smiled softly as he helped the girl up. Like the others, this girl was oddly familiar and he couldn't explain why. After he helped her up, Flint couldn't help but notice the girls features. Rather cute blue hair, a curved, thin body. He blushed a bit, but quickly made it go away, he didn't really wanna come off as rude. He cleared his throat and looked at the others, then to a tree. Flint was gonna climb that sucker. The tree was a rather old oak located about twenty meters away on the other side of the clearing. It was very tall, towering over the tree top with ease. He didn't see many handholds, but hopefully that would be fine. He'd climbed trees before. "Well, I dunno 'bout ya'll. But I'm gonna go climb that tree, get a better look at the area, I'll be back." As soon as he said these words, the other man, the one with the ears spoke up, also saying that they'd need shelter, food, or whatever. But Flint decided to ignore 'im.

Soon enough he had jogged over to the tree. A frown sprouted on his face when he noticed the smooth bark, barely any knots or cracks in the wood for him to grab onto. No matter, he grunted and jumped up, grabbing onto a small bit of old vine. He tugged on it several times, checking its strength. When satisfied, he started climbing up it, grunting with the effort as he grabbed onto the very few handholds there was. Soon enough he was almost to the top of the damned thing, about twenty feet or so up. He was just about to grab hold of a vine when his foot slipped, making him utter a curse. So, Flint was falling, a rather long drop, he might say. Flint landed with a thud.

    "Oww."

Saya looked at Swiften, he had a point, if there were any predators or anything around here then they would need shelter and food... She saw Flint's cheeks take on a slightly pink tinge but then just as quickly it disappeared, had she imagined it? Anyway, she watched him walk up to the tree and start climbing, it looked like lots of fun, but she didn't want to risk falling. As she thought that she saw Flint slip and fall, that was the exact reason she didn't want to climb a tree at the moment, she wasn't worried about the 'falling out' part, it was more the 'falling out while everyone is watching' part... When he landed on the ground she ran to him to see if he was hurt, for some reason she knew exactly what to do in a situation where someone needed medical attention. She felt for any broken bones, but luckily he was fine, he had a few scrapes, and would definitely be a bit bruised, but other than that he was fine.

Flint grumbled as he got up, feeling the pain of his bruised back and his scraped forearms from scrambling to grab a handhold. He breathed a sigh of relief to be not as injured as he could have been, but that was close. He shook his head once, looking to Saya as she came over to help and smiled. He wouldn't back down from a meager challenge like this. "I'm alright, it was just a bit of a fluke, 'kay?" He grinned and started hopping up again, this time knowing the spots he needed to grab hold of. His back still hurt, but he'd decide to ignore it. Soon enough he reached the top of the tree, standing in awe of the vast wilderness before him. It was beautiful and frightening at the same time.

Spread out before him was a large, spread out temperate forest of oaks, birches, and other various trees. To the South as said before was a very tall mountain, it looked rather far away, like twenty miles or so, but at the base of the mountain, it looked as if the trees had gone, more or less a vast, grassland. Filled with shrubs and wild grasses and flowers. It looked vast and magnificent, better than those pictures he'd seen in books. As Flint looked, he could see the river flowing off towards the mountain plains, but he could also see it was flowing out of a lake several miles away, with another mountain on the far side of it. Most of the land seemed to be grasslands and temperate forests. Still it was all beautiful and very pretty. Flint looked back down to Saya, a look of happiness on his face. "Hey, come on up here, you gotta see this! It's wonderful!" Climbing this tree had been worth it.

Saya nodded when Flint said that it was just a fluke and decided to climb up again, hopefully this time he wouldn't fall out of the tree. She grinned, he was so determined to climb that tree, and she knew determination was everything when you had to survive, if you lost the determination to live then you were as good as dead. She saw his look of awe when he reached the top, it must be a sight to behold up there, she thought to herself.

When he called to her to climb up she couldn't refuse, she ad to see the amazing view for herself. She grabbed hold of the trunk, and, with a practiced grace that suggested she had been climbing for much longer than she knew she hauled herself up. Once she got to the top she looked around amazed at the magnificent view. She turned and smiled brightly at Flint. "Thank you for getting me to come up here, I don't regret it at all, the view is amazing!" She spoke with all the awe she felt in her voice.

At the time of Flint helping the girl up, Cal had spent his time pacing about the clearing, analyzing the the scenery, not even paying attention to the rest of the group. In fact, he didn't even hear the woman scream, but he DID notice someone speak about needing shelter. He turned to see an odd looking man with pointed ears having said it to Flint, but Flint had ignored him.

He came over to the man that Flint ignored just as Flint fell out of the tree. He stifled laughter as best as he could, as he turned his attention the man. "Hey there! It seems at least someone else here is worried about shelter, at least. If Flint over there keeps going on like he is, he won't need shelter cuz' he won't be alive 'til night to need it. I'm Cal, what's your name?" Cal extended his hand to the man as he said this.

Flint smiled warmly at Saya. He enjoyed being up here with her, it was very nice. But, sadly, there was no signs of civilization in sight. But still, all he noticed was her, and he blushed a bit and said. "Yea, it is pretty nice... Better than most of the pictures that you see. But, the only thing bad about this is that, er, there's no towns or anything which is bad." Flint trailed off in the end, softly sighing and looking back into the distance, hoping to find something, anything. Suddenly, Flints stomach grumbled, making him blush a bit deeper. "Heh, I'm a bit hungry. All this climbing has given me the grumblings." Flint chuckled softly and looked back down to the others, talking about shelter and fire and stuff like that. Flint sighed and lied back, resting his head on a branch, enjoying the warm sunshine on his face. It was nice.

Saya laughed when his stomach growled, it was so funny how it was pretty much silent and then out of nowhere, there comes the noise of a hungry stomach. "I'm also a little peckish, and don't worry about civilization, I know how to live in the wild... Though I'm not sure how I know... I just need to find a stick and a sharp stone so that I can make a spear and then I will go catch us some dinner." She grinned at him, while everyone else was talking about food and shelter she would be the first to actually do something about it, she swung herself down from the tree, ran off into the forest and came back shortly afterwards with a stick and a sharp rock, she sat down and started sharpening the one end of the stick into a point with the rock.

Flint grinned as the girl said she could find some dinner. She sure seemed to know her stuff. Just as he was about to say something, he was interrupted by Saya jumping down from the tree, and running off. Flint chuckled and lowered himself down. He'd rather head off with her than stay here with a bunch of boring people. He quickly ran off after her, soon coming across the girl sharpening a stick with a stone. Flint leaned against a tree and watched her, she sure seemed to know how it was done. "Y'sure you think that's gonna do some damage? After all it's just a stick. You'd need something stronger... Hmm." Flint bent over and started searching the ground, grinning when he found what he was looking for. Some taproot, good stuff, was pretty good for eating, but also served as fairly good cordage.

He went over to her and held out his hand for the stone, it'd be better if he'd tied a sharp stone onto the stick, y'know, do more damage. "Come on, hand it over."
