Thomas stood back to watch Lilly crouch down to the girl whose eyes had now glazed over, staring into some distant point beyond life itself. His thoughts began to drift as he watched her drain what life remained of the girl, realising that he would quite probably watch Lilly drink the blood of a million more girls in a million more nights after this.
She pulled away from the mere corpse and she was even more beautiful than before, invigorated by that pointless life, and Thomas smiled at the fact that he would see this change for a million more nights.

"It makes me so sad to see young girls on the street. Their father's should have looked after them properly"

"It's only nature, Lilly." Thomas replied, smiling at her remaining sense of innocence. He nodded to Lilly as she effortlessly vanished up onto the rooftops with the body, turning to the end of the alleyway to check for humans. Having just fed, he could hear the humans chatter from streets away, the pair of pigeons feet tapping on the roof tiles, the burning of nearby gas lamps. He soaked it up in his boredom, separating his attention into each of the different noises that he heard so that it might seem that he was in several places at once.

As he almost forgot where he was standing, Lilly landed down neatly before him. "Why hello." He said quietly, smiling. He was surprised when she moved her hands around him, but the thought of resistance never crossed his mind. Yet before she even began to speak, he had detected the footsteps moving towards them from the end of the street, growing louder and louder. He interrupted her with his whisper. "We have company."

He peeled away from Lilly as she did him, already looking towards the woman as she rounded the corner. Well this seems suspicious. Thomas thought, glancing casually around the alleyway, not seeing any blood or signs of the feeding. He felt Lilly's arm hook with his, which he thought slightly strange and so looked analytically over her expression - she unashamedly gave Vera daggers as if to ward her away from him.

Thomas turned to Vera, feigning a smile regardless of her unpleasant expression. "Hello Vera. Is there something I can help you with? I don't think this is the right time to be taking blood samples." He said, still considering whether to hypnotise the woman or not. He had already done so several times to change the blood test results and didn't want to risk the manipulation backfiring.

". . . Alright, understand something, you can call me by my first name because I certainly will. I don't give a damn if you're male, female or neuter. I'll treat you with respect, but I expect you to do the same to me and conduct yourself in a professional manner. . . Oh, and I'll drive you pretty hard."

She nodded firmly at his words, understanding his reasoning immediately. "Of course, Morgan. I would love for you to call me Tana either way. And as for the driving, I wouldn't have it any other way." She smiled teasingly at him, a twinkle present in her eye that could only be interpreted as flirtatious, assuming the doctor was even paying any attention of course. He seemed to be a different kind of man, more absorbed in his work than anything else. The way he looked almost hesitant to accept her obviously much needed help made her feel as though there was a reason behind him not wanting her company... A reason she was eager to find out about.

"Sorry if I'm not particularly welcomin this morning. If I haven't had enough sleep in a while I tend to focus on the more important things and let the social niceties go for awhile, nothing personal you understand."

Tana followed after him, his demeanor suggesting that she did so, all while studying the scientist. He acted like a man on a mission, all straight-backed, tensed, and incredibly flustered; it told her that he was perhaps closer to unlocking a certain mystery than she originally anticipated... Now how exactly was she going to get close enough to him to get him to trust her?

She frowned slightly at his back, unsure of her following course of action. She had been willing to slowly worm her way into his work, into his heart. But now... It seemed like she may need to place her plan on fast track.

"It's fine. I understand. You seem completely worn out." Her voice was warm, comforting. "That's what I'm here for. You don't need to be nice to me, I'm perfectly fine with that. Just as long as you let me help you."

She smiled sweetly at him as she passed him to enter the freezer, arm brushing against his broad chest 'unintentionally'. She kept her face straight, as though she had not noticed a thing. "What do you need me to do?"

Morgan stepped inside the freezer, his breath fogging like a cloud of cigarette smoke. While the supersoldiers had been highly effective, they'd been where the fighting was the thickest on both theaters and every front from Burma to Japan itself. The axis forces were no pushovers and they'd sent their best to deal with the allied elite and while they could heal quickly the axis had quickly apprehended the threat the supersoldier's posed and they'd used every trick in the book and fought with a dogged tenacity - often to the last man - right up to the minute the surrender documents were signed.

So there were quite a few remains in the freezer, the axis troops had hit the supersoldiers with everything they had. So often there was only a fragment of torn and burned flesh on a gurney, edged with frost, with a tag bearing a name and numbers. In more than a few cases there was just some tissue stored in tubes.

Morgan stopped at the closest gurney, the outlined form underneath was resting in a odd position seemed shrunken, that and it ended about three feet above where it should have. He flipped back the covering to reveal a leering skull that had had the flesh almost entirely burned off, the torso was armless and twisted threads of carbonized flesh clung to charred shattered bone.

"Give me a hand with Private MacDowell, would you please?" He said as he took one end of the gurney. "When we're done with him, we'll also collect Private Miller." Morgan waved a hand at a neighboring where the form underneath was almost intact, except for where it ended abruptly where its head should have been.

"After we get them moved, we'll also need to collect the documents on their behavorial patterns and on the first experiments, the 1915 one specifically."

The soft sounds of the flickering lamps, made her mind seem completely at ease as she walked down the lightly lit street. Her mind was furious, her body rigid with anger, her eyes looking straight before her. She couldn't understand everything in the universe, but by God, she promised her father that she would understand his creation. The soft smile (that she didn't know she was wearing) slowly vanished as pain sliced through her arm. She gently grabbed the crook of her arm, applying pressure, and waiting for the pain to go away. She thought for certain that the pain of the injection she gave herself right before she left would vanish, but it seemed this was slightly different.

The flickering seemed to almost guide her as she continued her walk. She replayed scenes over in her head as to what she was going to say to Tomas when she found him, or talked to him...but it seemed that every single scene ended with a question mark. And she didn't understand that either. A gentle sigh escaped her lips as the flickering lamps stop making a sound. Her legs stopped carrying her. She looked up to the post she stood under, and tilted her head at the flame. She watched it closely, her brows creased together. And then, it was out. Even more confused she stared at the sealed box. Completely unsure as to how the flame could go out without a gust of wind.

Trying to ignore it, and continue on with her walk, she took one more step, then stopped. She tried to continued, but it seemed her legs didn't want too. Without conscious thought, her torso turned to the right, and a soft gasp escaped her lips. There he was, Mr. Griffen, and Mrs. Edwards hooked onto his arms like some sort of parasite. Her jaw clinched, the anger returned. She was desperately trying to understand the lifespan, the flaw that her father didn't understand was there until his death bed, but was unable to tell her, and here they were, fooling around in an alley.

'Of all places?' Her mind reeled with questions as she realized she was heading straight to them. Her body felt like it was on fire, she figured it was from the anger. She stood at the entrance of the alley, making certain not to step another inch in, and delicately placed her hands before her on her waist, hr fingers enclosed around each other. She listened to his words, could see the smirk of hate on Mrs. Edwards without turning her attention to the woman, and could feel a tremendous headache forming.

    "Tomas,"
Her Russian accent coming through as she tried very desperately to calm her anger. "I have been calling you for the past 4 nights. And every night you have been "asleep." And like I told your little hen, I am certain that is not what you are doing. Now, will you please be kind enough to escort me back to my lab so I may take a blood sample-" Her vision started to blur, she placed a hand on the corner of the building to steady herself.

"Forgive me, seems not eating all day has finally taken it's toll on me."
The alley seemed to swirl as her head started to pound. She leaned her body against the building, trying to focus her eyes on the 5 different people standing before her.

She couldn't even recall the Russian curse that flew from her lips as her knees gave out on her. Everything around her became black. The only thing she did remember was her father telling her that something was different about the SuperSoldiers, that she needed to find out to put a stop to it. That they were the reason why he was dead. He was mere seconds away from telling her the "secret" he promised, but he collapsed in her arms. Just like she did just now, in her mind.

"He has been with me, or with others at our home. Where he belongs. All you do is stick him with needles and cause him stress." There was a hint of venom in her words, and the usual warm tone that she used with both Thomas, and those of her kind, was gone, replaced with a harsher, colder tone, which was used to communicate with the scientists.

Not only had the female scientist, whom she had encountered many times, interrupted the moment that she was trying to persue with Thomas, but now she was fainting? With a sigh, Lilly's reflexes would react, moving forward to catch the fainting female.

With little effort, Lilly would pick her up in her arms, one arm hooked around the woman's waist, the other behind her knees, holding her as if she weighed nothing. "She, is just out to ruin our evening" A playful pout would curl at her lips, turning towards Thomas, she'd look at him, before looking down at the woman in her arms. "Although, this doesn't just look like she's hungry. Maybe we'd better take her back to the labs? She knows people there."

She couldn't believe she'd suggested that, she had had awful experiences at the laboratory, Thomas may not have had the same experiments, but she had gone through enough of them when the scientists were trying to find out if the super-soldiers were fertile or not, if they could make super soldier children, they could start to spy on the areas of the country that could only be accessed to children.

The memories brought an almost upset expression over her features, before she shook it off, but not before a shiver would go down her spine. Thomas would no doubt know how much she hated the laboratories, which is probably why she had gotten away with avoiding there so much, when they requested her.

But she wouldn't take no for an answer, she was determined she was going to take the scientist back to the laboratory with him, and then she was going to steal him back and finish what she'd started. "Let's go, I'll carry her"

Lilly would look around them, checking to see if anyone could see them, before her calves would tense, pushing her up with force so she could bound up to the rooftops. The laboratory wasn't far from where they'd ended up hunting, so she only had to travel a few rooftops before it was in sight. She wouldn't much pay attention to whether Thomas was following her, but would more pay attention to the female in her arms, checking to ensure that she would not wake up, although, if she did, it would be simple enough hypnotising her to forget and go back to sleep.

After a few more bounds, over a few more rooftops, Lilly would check that the area where she planned to land was clear of people, before she would jump down, landing lightly on her feet. She'd check over her shoulder for the arrival of Thomas, before stepping towards the front gates of the Laboratory. Pressing the button for the intercom, she'd speak into it.

"It is Miss Edwards and Mr Griffen, one of your scientists has fainted, and we found her, let us in please, so we can drop her off." She used the same voice she had used earlier in the meeting with the other vampires, her well spoken, public voice, it was much different than the warm, playful tone she often used privately, with Thomas and the other vampires.

Turning her head over her shoulder as she waited for someone to let her in, a smile would play over her lips. "I am not done with you, Mr Griffen, promise me that once she is safe, we can go home?" She hoped he would agree, but there was a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, that assumed that once he was in the laboratory, it would be hard to get him to leave. But that just made her more determined to stay with him.

Thomas watched as the scientist spoke, his expression neutral and unflinching as he listened to the woman rant about him evading her. The way she spoke it was as if they were lovers; he knew that the scientist felt strongly about him since he had awoken in this dark new world, but he never knew she felt strongly enough to stalk him through London at night. The thought of him returning the emotions to the woman send a shiver down his spine; she was barely the same species as him. In his eyes, as he watched her sway, he only saw a warm vessel of blood, a neck begging to be ripped open.

He moved to catch the woman before she fell, but Lilly was so swift she darted in front of the woman and plucked her from the grasp of gravity. "Such a strange human." Thomas said broodingly, his expression ever neutral as he scaled the rooftops alongside Lilly. He landed down gently beside Lilly as she spoke through the intercom, his eyes drifting over the Vampire holding the scientist. Besides the fact one is a human, they aren't quite that different. They could almost be interchangeable. He observed, snapping to focus as Lilly turned to him and spoke. "I am not done with you, Mr Griffen, promise me that once she is safe, we can go home?"

Thomas frowned in reply. "Why, where else might we go?" He laughed slightly, glancing out into the chilly night - not that the cold made a difference to them. Free from the constraints of temperature, a Vampire could soak in the ambience of any environment for hours on end. "We could sneak into Buckingham palace." He said half jokingly before a man's voice spoke through the intercom. "No problem, Miss Edwards." He said as two security guards came rushing out of the laboratory, perturbed as to why the young woman was carrying Vera until they remembered her strength. They took Vera from Lilly, nodding to the Vampires in courtesy or perhaps even admiration at their celebrity status. "Excuse me." Thomas said before the men vanished inside. "Please tell Doctor Ballard to contact me tomorrow. I must speak with him in private."

As Vera was carried away, Thomas turned to Lilly and smiled. "Let's go home." Thomas said, linking his arm with Lilly and placing his hands in his pockets. "You won't have to worry about any more tests. I've decided to cut all contact with the humans research facilities for the Association."

As the body of the woman was taken from her, Lilly would wipe her hands on her coat lightly. It wasn't really because of carrying the woman, but more wiping away the bitter memories that she'd recalled from the sight of the laboratory.

As she felt him hook his arm into hers, she'd move instead to slide her arm around his waist, her side countouring against his. "Buckingham palace, back to the Alleyway, my bedroom, your bedroom. The possibilities of where we could go, are absolutely endless, my love." Lilly tried to keep a straight face, but the corner of her mouth curled into a half-smirk, calming the cold contours of her face a little, as she sideways glanced at him.

Her fingers would curl lightly into the side of his coat, before pulling her weight against him lightly as she started walking, as if to beckon him with her. As they walked, the only sounds that could be heard were the light clicking of her heels, and the occasional brushing of their coats as their hips rubbed together.

Sick of the silence. Lilly's lips would curl into a grin. "That scientist, she has a thing for you. Call it woman's intuition, I can just tell" Looking up to her right, she'd search for Thomas' reaction. Once he had, she'd tilt her chin up to press a playful kiss against his jaw. "She's one of the ones I have the dis-pleasure of remembering, and that...Doctor Ballard, he was the one that was obsessed with finding out if we were fertile."

Lilly's muscles would tense a little at the memory, before she'd snuggle herself into the crook of Thomas' arm. He was the one who had indefinitly put a stop to the fertility experiments, aswell as experiments on her in general. It had been such a relief when he finally moved them all away from the laboratory, and into the association. "I always did say to just put the two of us in a room with nothing else to do for a few hours, then watch for the next nine months to see if the females were fertile."

She grinned lightly, it was her way of dealing with the painful memories, joke about them. She could remember making that joke at a whole association meeting once, Thomas had been very displeased, and even angry with her. He always had been a bit of a prude with keeping his private life private.

But she perhaps knew him better than any of the other vampires in the association, they had had a good six or so months together, before there were any other successful super soldiers made, meaning they had had plenty of time, between unpleasant encounters with the scientists and their machines, to get to know each other.

"Are you still hungry? I know there was a young businessman who's almost at the point of bankrupcy, no family. I'm sure no one would be surprised if he just happened to jump off the bridge into the Thames. I've been watching him for a while, he's usually still at his office at this hour"

She wondered if she could use it to test Thomas, afterall, she was always looking to spice their evenings up, trying to add a little fun into his life. He'd spent far too much time away from home lately. Maybe he'd get jealous of her feeding off another male, like she had him.

Of course not, they rarely felt anything anymore, but she could hope.

Dead bodies were almost as common in her line of work as test tubes were part of Morgan's, so seeing the mutilated, charred remains of soldiers did nothing to Tana. But she was no amateur. As Michelle, she drew in a sharp, surprised hiss as the dark-haired doctor revealed the corpse, her face paled and even turned a little green - if anything, Tana was the perfect actress. She allowed herself five seconds of noticeable vulnerability, before straightening her back and throwing her nose into the air, as though that moment did not even throw her off. She followed after the man, and grabbed the other end of the gurney, helping him push it out of the freezer and into the laboratory.

After they settled the first soldier where the doctor wanted him, she followed him once again back into the cold room, acting reluctant although less so; showing 'improvement' of seeing human bodies in such dreadful conditions. She stretched slightly when they were done with both corpses and proceeded with the next of his instructions.

The 'chemist' worked quickly and efficiently, character spilling with exuberant eagerness that was found only in new apprentices. Despite it being just a facade, Tana found herself genuinely interested in the doctor's work, admiring his elegant script and logical filing system. Not many men were able to function that way, it was a good trait to have.

After she found what she needed, she grabbed the file and walked back towards Morgan, who was hunched over the Private MacDowell. "Here you go." She handed him the file, before walking towards the other side of the room to shrug on an extra lab coat that was hung within a metal closet.

    "What else do you need?"

    The following day

Thomas pushed open the curtains of the room, flooding it with the pale sunlight of winter. He looked down from the window at the pedestrians moving around the Association building like ants, ants in suits going about their daily lives until one of his kin plucked them from their lives. Despite having fed twice the previous night with Lilly, he still felt the desire to smash through the window and chase one of the humans down as a tiger might a deer.

He ignored the urge, turning away from the window and sliding his hands into his robes, feeling an anxiety grow within him. He knew that despite the increased intelligence that came with Vampirism, there were still a number of Vampires within the Association he would not trust to resist their urges. But what can I do? This Association is a time bomb waiting to explode. Thomas thought as he went through the motions of his morning routine before he got dressed in one of his many grey suits. I can always pass off the serum as creating mentally unstable soldiers. Or murder those I cannot trust. Thomas thought as he combed his hair before heading downstairs.
