Faery War [Casual]

It's been a long time since I wrote a rp, bear with me. This is largely off-the-cuff and only loosely based on sidhe legends so don't kill me if I massively alter fundamental rules

The faery worlds lie on a separate plane to the mortal ones, although they are very closely linked. The courts of the faeries control the seasons and weather on the mortal plane and in return the mortals lives sustain the fae.

There are four faery courts:

Summer
Ruled by Maeve the Summer Queen, the Summer lands ensure good weather and strong growth in the mortal worlds. Believing herself to be the strongest, arrogant Maeve is a cruel and unforgiving mistress. While outwardly she feigns love and kindness her closest advisers know her true nature. Because of her season's beauty she is always attributed by mortals as the benevolent faery and finds it easy to blame her true nature's actions on the Winter Queen. This she does as regularly as possible, because she loves to cause mischief and pain.

Spring
Ruled by Nataniël the Spring Prince, the Spring lands bring forth new growth under Maeve's directions. Nataniël is as cruel as his mistress and enjoys the pain he brings to the Winter Court when he destroys the snows and pushes buds into bloom.

Winter
Ruled by the sweet-natured Mab the Winter Queen, the Winter Court is the most desired dwelling place among the faeries. Despite the chilly air, everyone is warmed by Mab's heart and she is well-known for being all the things Maeve is reputed to be but isn't. Mab doesn't have the heart to fight her sister, who she loves dearly, but only in matters of their rivalry. When it comes to her seasons she becomes feisty and brave, ensuring that the change comes each year despite Maeve's protests. Winter allows the ground to rest and replenish its nutrients, ensuring that there will be new growth in Spring.

Autumn
Ruled by Æthán the Autumn Prince. The Autumn lands ensure the leaves fall from the trees and that the mortal worlds are fully prepared for the coming winter by ripening the crops. Æthan is more fiery than his Queen and finds it hard to keep his temper when meeting with his brother and Maeve. Despite his temper he is a kind faery well loved by his subjects for his protection of them - Autumn is the land most flee to when trying to escape Maeve's wrath.


Premise:

Maeve has had enough. She no longer wishes to share the seasons with her sister and is assembling an army to crush them once and for all. But in her rage she hasn't considered the effect that this will have on the mortal worlds - the faery lifeblood. Now Mab is scrambling to fight back knowing that if she fails not only will her people be obliterated but so too will the mortal worlds and, in time, all of faery with them.


About the RP:

This isn't going to be a spar-heavy RP. By and large it's going to be more about the story surrounding the situation and hopefully we will be able to resolve the issues with tactics instead of fighting. Mostly because I hate and suck at sparring.


I'll be playing Mab and NPCing the other three, unless any of you especially want to play those characters. Bear in mind, though, that if you take them on you MUST stay true to their characters, and try not to completely derail things if at all possible. I doubt that'll happen but I've had a couple of RPs in the past where the people who took over the main/powerful characters decided they wanted to change everything and go their own way, which was a massive pain in the butt.

This is a literate RP and I'd like it if you posted at least 3 lines per post, but nothing overly complicated. I'm only just re-learning how to RP so I won't be posting massive walls of text for you all to read (after this one!)

Bluemoon is a tempest fairy from the mists of time

Blue can see into the past and future. Her powers are mostly Illusions called glamors Her # 1 Power is the ability to speed, slow an reverse time around herself out to fifty feet from herself. By reversing time blue is able to remove injuries or persistent effects such as hexes, diseases, poisons and and protective magics. Her other power reflects her true nature in time which is to exist in all segments of past, present and future. This ability alows her to multiply which she does by summoning past and future incarnations making an army of blue ready to do battle. She cannot be killed by normal means but must be tricked into revealing her true name after which her powers vanish and she becomes a mortal woman.

This is a character I created a good longtime ago.
Seeing your Fae War made me think what if there was a key that would allow whoever has it to stop time and therefore the seasons. I could see such an event as robbing the other Seasons of their magic.
The catch in all this would be extracting Blue's secret name from her and in effect dooming her to die a mortal death.

Tempest refers to the element of time and is the oppisite of limbo. The tempest is a place where time flows into the past, present and future. Here it interleaves in eddies of total stasis where time stops and all things are ageless
There are few beings that can exsist in the tempest and those that do are found in the three states of the tempest and rarest are the tempest fae.
Tempest Fae. are formed when powerful archane forces are compeled by living minds into the tempest which then leave traces of sentience behind that become the fae.
Most tempest Fae never journey outside their stormy realm but on rare occasions one will be drawn to the physical world.
Tempest Fae cannot be destroyed in the physical world but must be bannished by archane practitioners who discover their true names. Some adepts use the fae's true name to control them and their power over time

Name: Baron Faran
Age: Looks 37
Race: Dragon
Court: Advisor to the Winter Court
Appearance: Faran tends to take the shape of a young man of elven persuasion. Pale skinned, silver hair, standing a solid 6 feet tall. His eyes glow with an interesting golden tinge, and his eyes are slitted. His iris is an odd red color. He tends to wear supple highly adorned velvet and satin clothing. It doesn't make him look rich, but atleast he seems to look somewhat noble. He tends to carry a walking staff, made of obsidian stone, capped by a large orb of golden amber.



His true form which he rarely shows unless it's needed to get his point across or the court needs some show of power. Is that of a massive gold dragon. Standing 15 feet from foot to shoulder. Almost 25 feet from foot to the top of his crested head. His scales gleam in any light cast upon him.



Personality: Polite, Kind, Gentle hearted and soft spoken. As with most dragon he perfers to sit on the side lines, and help in a roundabout way. But as he has thrown in his lot with the Winter Court he tends to be very vocal on occasion when it comes to the conflicts of the courts. Otherwise he tends to just sit and watch, as if everything that is going on is some kind of game or experiment in his eyes.

Short History: Faran, which isn't his real name of course, came to the court several hundred years ago. Disguised as a more or less adventuring elven noblemen. Out for a lark for the most part. He spent several years just walking the parks and looking around the realm until one day while visiting the court itself he heard a disagreement between some visiting spring and winter fearys. He stepped in, and offered to mediate as the disagreement seemed to be swiftly degenerating into a shouting match and would have likely come to blows.

This was his first foray into the court politics. And over several years he helped out more and more. Small arguments here, a dispute there. His name didn't make it's way all the way to Mab of course, but soon, he found himself sitting in the back of the court during a hearing when it was obvious that it wasn't going to go well for any side. He stepped up and offered his help. In doing so, he also revealed his true nature when one of the spring diplomats verbally assaulted him personally for no apparent reason. The disguised dragon did not take kindly to this as is the Gold Dragon way, and for maybe a brief moment showed his true nature to the entire court, when his golden aura flared, and the image of his true gold self appeared for a time.

Since then he's been a more or less unofficial yet clearly welcome visitor and advisor to the court.

Weapons/Abilities: In his elven form it's his staff with the amber cap. In his dragon form it's the sheer power behind his claws, teeth, magic and breath weapons.

I'm interested if you're willing to take a newbie in. I've roleplayed lots of one-on-ones before but this would be my first group RP. I'm also new to the genre, I don't know that much about faeries and such. But it sounds interesting :3

I came up with a character but I don't know if this is possible. I thought... a faery who's maybe Maeve's advisor's daughter? And for some reason she's been kicked out of the Summer Court and her memory has been erased. She finds herself in the Winter lands not knowing anything about herself but her name. She's blindly looked up to Maeve and hated Mab before but she doesn't remember any of that now. She's not mean but she hides behind a not-so-friendly attitude especially when she feels threatened or scared because she doesn't want anyone to think she's weak. She's not very confident but she tries not to show it, and she might be a bit immature. She's strong-willed and I think that if she cares about someone, she stands up to them no matter what.

I don't know much about her abilities yet but probably something simple, maybe something to do with fire or heat if that's okay. But I think either her abilities have somehow been taken away or she doesn't know what she can do and how. I'll make a proper character bio if you want me in I can change things if there's something that doesn't fit the RP.

And I get it if you don't want a newbie in but I wanted to at least try.
