    Video Game High School (VGHS)(IC)

It’s just another day at VGHS, Noobs are trying to get their bearings and the schools elite are showing off to their peers as they battle it out amongst each other in their favourite video games. the school is extremely modern in design and features long modern hallways which are literally plastered in recruitment posters promoting VGHS team captains, their teams and upcoming gaming tournaments, getting into such teams however is harder than it sounds.

The day is clear and sunny so far and the outside areas of the school are crowded with pupils who are of course playing games in between classes, classes are as follows.
You must only attend the class for the genre you are good at.

    FPS 101
    RTS 101
    RACING 101
    MMO 101
    SPORTs 101
    FIGHTERS 101

Each class has three levels depending on the time you have attended the school, each level introduces more detailed and advanced knowledge of your chosen genre of game.

Level 1 - Attended for less than 5 months.

Level 2 - Attended for a period of 5-12 months

Level 3 - Attended for a period of 2+ years.

New classes may be introduced throughout the school period.

    So welcome, And good luck.

And in the words of Principal Calhoun - "It’s all about the game"
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Natasha, A.K.A PoisonousBliss cringed as she downed her third can of Monster energy drink, groaning slightly Natasha rolled her eyes as her fingers gripped tightly onto her gaming mouse, her fingers twitched without hesitation as she clicked the left mouse button with ease and fluency, the thundering sound of a high calibre pistol round echoed out from the speakers of the monitor as the bullet lodged itself into the head of the unfortunate peer who had challenged her, she immediately grinned and raised up from her seat, the surrounding spectators raised their hands in cheer.

"Hah! Better luck next time noob!" She shouted with glee, looking around at those who were cheering her and the reaction of the male who had lost against her, she loved the attention and the sight of her global VGHS leader board score increase before her on the screen.

Natasha then looked around with a raised eyebrow.
    "Any more challengers?"

Everyone then went silent....they didn’t want to risk the chance of humiliation and the possible chance of becoming expelled from the school as many of them were fairly new.

Natasha just grinned without a word...

Konrad watched on silently, not cheering at the moment. Of course, it would be suicidal for his rep to go and actually take on Natasha, that was for certain. He was a racer, not a shooter. He could probably hold his own with a team, but against Natasha, someone devoted to FPS and a Captain, there was no chance. He was at least glad he had spent a year here, and his level on the scoreboard had gotten somewhere- he wasn't rock bottom anymore, but neither was he up at the top, and he was probably three matches away from being thrown out. Still, he looked on, and cheers quickly erupted, as Natasha fragged the competitor on the other side. Konrad simply took a quick swig of his Monster, and even himself cheered on, as the male clearly looked like he was in total disgrace of his defeat. He never stood a chance. Still, Konrad had what he knew he could do- and when he got on a terminal of his own, set up his steering wheel and the rest of his setup, he would show them what he could do.

The room went silent again, and it was clearly awkward. Remember, don't be a moron, Konrad thought to himself. That would just be another frag to Natasha and nothing else gained. Apart from humiliation. Like his racing style, he didn't play it rough- he thought quickly, and then acted, and his thought process was instant to tell him to just stay the hell away from this challenge. Maybe one day he'd be good enough- but today was not that day, just starting to get up on Monster.

Marina, or TurfyFeline as some knew her, cheered with the rest as Natasha won against her opponent, the guy had made a classic mistake, firing his whole clip wildly to try and keep Natasha in cover but when he fumbled on the reload it was all over as he was eliminated with a shot to the head. She raised the challenge to the room and everyone went silent, Marina smiled inwardly at everyone going quite in fear of going against her, She was good herself but Natasha was way better than her even though they where the same year. She looked around to see if anyone would be brave enough, or dumb enough, to accept the JV FPS captains offer and take her on in the 1v1 battle.
Absent minded Marina looked down at her PDA to look at the time, it read 10:43AM and her eyes went wide, she pushed her way through the silent crowd and past Natasha,
"Hey FPS Advanced Functions starts in 2 minutes we have to get going!"
She cried as she moved for the door.

Kayla or also know online as WindRunner was carrying a large box holding all of her gaming gear that she had brought with her to VGHS, she was very good at FPS games which were the best that she was at. Kayla walked through the courtyard and noticed a large amount of people playing all kinds of games, from RPG, shooters, RTS, fighting, racing and sports games. One group in particular caught her attention and walked over and watched as Natasha just owned a total newbie at a game. Kayla was tempted to play a game, but decided not to incase if it hurt her score and get exspelled from the school so early and decided to head towards her dorm room and unpack her gear and games.

Adam stood watching as a guy almost broke down after getting brutally beat down by a girl. Being new, he didn't want to make too much of an impression on the crowd so retreated to his belongings, picking them up and walked off, looking for his new dorm.

He wandered the halls, people filing past as if he was on a street in New York. He stopped every so often, changed the song on his Ipod and continued walking. He really just wanted to find his dorm, unpack his gear and jump straight into a game of FIFA.

    3v3: Breaking in the Rookies

    8 am
Serenity entered the classroom with her PvP team. She eyed the unfamiliar faces in the main room. "Freshmen. Time to break the recruits in", she thought to herself. The MMO teachers merely acted as supervisors, which left the assigned guild leaders to report on the progress of each student. She sat at her station and plugged in her gaming hardware. She had a custom black keyboard with backlit hot pink keys. There were sixteen macro keys attached to it as well as several buttons to change the keybinds with a single push. Second was her mouse eight buttons on the side as well as a joystick scaled down for thumb use.It was standard fare really for anyone at the school. Today was just sparring so she didn't bring her computer as she ordinarily did.

"Now guild leaders listen up. You will be assigned five freshman each to your guilds. You will assign them a team and see how they work. Standard procedure applies for rule breaking and training. Report it to me for anything beyond the scope of your authority." Mr. Bernard or Mr. "B" as the students called him was a skilled PvPer, but the students eventually surpassed him about the time they reached Level 3 of their time at the school. As of late he had taken to allowing his elite students to give the exams while he watched in spectator mode as it seemed to be a fairer evaluation method. He read of the list of students in order of guild, starting with Serenity's own. "You five report to Serenity for invites and evalution."

Serenity stood up at her console waving the students into their guild room. Unlike the other classes the MMO class was divided into separate rooms for most of the day and met in the main room. "Welcome to Epidemic. Three of you will beg by the end of the day to be moved to another guild. That is fact." She looked at their information sheets and then them. "Siegebreaker, Manacannon, Holyhands", she said pausing. "3 versus 3 battle to the death. Survive three minutes against your guildies or win." She smirked at them as she thought to herself "A mage, knight and cleric working together should have great synergy...if they manage to work together that is."

A team composed of level two students logged onto their PCs and the team captain issued the challenge. A large 55 inch flat screen popped up with the teacher displaying the fight from spectator mode. The room grew quiet as people began to watch one of the top ranking teams from the department The Warbringers engage in battle against the freshman. LawfulPain was the second best paladin in the entire department save for a senior who was set to graduate with a contract at the end of the semester if all went. Second in the line up was Forestwalker, a talented ranger player that served as the teams controller. Last on their roster was Stonebreaker, the only monk on a top ten team. His reflexes were excellent and he seemed to string together combos with perfect timing.

The timer counted down on the screen. "5...4...3..2..1...Begin." The screen said as the two gates fell. Each fight's field was randomly selected from fifteen various locations. Today's fight was held in the Swamp of Horrors. The field favored ranged classes, but the Warbringers had managed to outplay several teams on that field even being at a heavy disadvantage. Serenity's eye drifted between the two teams and back to the monitor. The Warbringer's would have LawfulPain open with his Holy Charge immediately drawing the brunt of the immediate damage as he was the only one in range. This was a common mistake most teams made as an instant reaction. Meanwhile Forestwalker utilized the ranger ability Stalk and moved to higher ground immediately taking shots to apply slows and various other effects.

It seemed the new team was about to go down when Holyhand's burned most of his cooldowns to bring him and his allies back up to 75 percent health. Siegebreaker was trading blows with Stonesmasher neither of them seeming to gain advantage over the other. Suddenly Stonesmasher gave the order to take set up the first kill. "Forest pin Siege.I will knockback stun on Siege. Time to burn MC." LawfulPain used his Holy Charge to stun Manacannon followed by a Reverence to silence him. Within ten seconds Manacannon had been taken from 75 percent to zero health. One by one the remaining two were finished off. It had taken five minutes for them to be overwhelmed and that was good enough to pass the trial.

Serenity clapped and approached the three. "A nice display of prowess seeing as you were thrown together only a few minutes ago. Welcome to Epidemic." The second two were paired with a straggler had been stomped into a fine powder within one minute. It was safe to say Serenity did not want them in her guild. She approached Mr. B. "I want to keep Siegebreaker, Holyhands and Manacannon. The other two aren't going to cut it." She strode back into the guild room and closed the door behind her. It was time for their daily meeting.

Konrad quickly took off his backpack, filled with his gaming equipment, but there was something else he was looking for. His steering wheel, for added precision and realism, sat with a pair of gaming headphones, but that wasn't it. He eventually found it- a sleek black PDA, roughly a little larger than an Iphone, sat in there comfortably, and Konrad quickly took it out, checking his lesson for the day. Seemed like it was more FPS lessons, but still, there was Racing 101 at Level 2.5 and a few others after that, and that was where he wanted to burn a bit of rubber. It was since a young age he had played these, and even though the physics engines and other elements of these games had changed, they were all the same- every choice made gets you to the finish line quicker. Every adjustment of the aerodynamics, the choice of power to weight ratio, it all counted. This was stuff you learned- and it helped out tenfold, if you were up against a competitor. Hell, maybe this was the year that he got onto a Racing team, Konrad thought to himself. There were others who had even become REAL racing drivers out of this, simply because nowadays, you could transfer the skills over easily, and if you knew how to drive like that, you were guaranteed. That was the thing- Konrad knew that racing these days needed talent, talent like him. FPS stars could become famous, and earn big, but racing was what he loved, both in the real and virtual world, and if he got to race for a real team, then it would make him the happiest 16-year old alive.

As he walked amongst the crowd, his PDA back in the bag, he was still waiting for something. A few more people had joined the crowd, and Konrad knew that there were all sorts of people here. FPS players, Sports, it went on. Gaming was a wide universe, and it was all competitive. It was something he guessed that made up VGHS- to be the best in gaming. Konrad himself wore a red t-shirt at the moment, and some stonewashed jeans, nothing special, but it was hot- he was used to living in England, and there it was cool compared to this. He was living the dream, it seemed- and this school was determined to make him the best.

Natasha giggled as the spectating group went silent and dispersed from the area, she was surprised when some other experienced FPS’s players such as Marina declined her offer and preceded towards the corridors of the school, Natasha knew she would get to battle her sooner or later due to the fact that they were roommates.

Natasha removed her equipment from the screen and secured them into her shoulder slung bag before then standing up; taking one last gulp from her monster she tilted her head as marina announced that FPS class was starting soon, although Natasha had the duty of being class TA for the level 1 classes in her quest to find a new member for Her FPS team JV, she wanted to give a noob the chance of competing sothey could gain some rep but she had considered recruiting a more experienced student from the higher levels. “Finally” she said to herself as she ran off in marina’s direction, natasha passed another small group, she smiled at a young looking guy wearing a red shirt who was packing away his equipment, natasha found him somewhat cute but then proceeded to eventually catch up with marina, she had plenty of time for boys later and there was plenty of them who already wanted a peice of her, Natasha tapped marina gently on the shoulder from behind.

“Hey! Hey! Turfy! You see me pwn that noob?” she said excitingly to marina as a small smiled lit up her face.

“Hey! Hey! Turfy! You see me pwn that noob?”

Natasha said excitedly as she caught up with Marina,

"Hell ya, you popped him right between the eyes with a cross map shot."

She said, smiling as she gave her friend a high-five.

"So I heard you have to to go the level 1 class and pick a noob for the tournement coming up."

She said to her as they made their way towards the class. Adjusting the straps of her shoulder bag and holding her PDA in one hand.

"Got anybody in mind? Also I'm free that day if you still need some more members to join."

The game was over before even the spectators knew it. It was a modern military game with an impressive challenge set against mostly new or lesser students hoping to gain some reputation. The nine of them had found Lars or BrokenDowne creating a new map for the RTS team in the courtyard, they knew he topped the charts in his genre. The challenge was that if the students could beat BrokenDowne in a 9 vs 1 battle he would reserve some spots for them on his in class team which he accepted without hesitation.

While most of them were making buildings and doing upgrade from the start, Lars was mass producing material gatherers with the press of a few buttons. Then came the mine fields completely surrounding his area, which almost immediately crushed several combined efforts to attack him in the first five minutes. However they had not seen the fully upgraded tank and sniper compounds he had built nearby the bases of everyone of their bases. One tap of the key board set the tanks and sniper to swarm around the bases destroying everything, and it worked without fail because the nine were to focused on upgrading all of their units to make a better fighting force instead of getting necessary materials. The worst part for them was that it happened all in just seven minutes.

Lars kept a calm expression and never said a single word of gloat to them. "Nice try guys, just keep working on it and you'll be set." He said softly hoping to encourage the students to work harder to get what they really wanted. In the back of his head however he knew the news would spread around once again through his class and most definitely through the lower level classes. Being a captain seems like such a curse sometimes. Lars checked his watch and then switched back to his map in progress which even with that battle he had time to finish.
